Property was brand new, only open a few months. Rooms were very luxurious, well furnished and clean. However, hallways were in dire need of vacuuming. Pool bar had more staff than customers and seemed completely disorganized. Everyone running around but not waiting on customers. Front desk, doormen and cleaning staff very friendly and accommodating. We also were surprised by a $50 per day resort fee upon check out!

Amazing brand new property. Very nice and rooms are beautiful. Easy to get around. The staff was more than helpful and nice. Everyone was friendly and accommodating, I couldn’t recommend it more! Wonderful stay!

The property itself has a beautiful view, beach and pool area. The grounds are still in early stages of development for plants and flowers. Some construction still going on but it didn't bother us at all. Very friendly accommodating staff.

Great service! Clean and well kept. Construction on property but didnt hear anything. Ashanty was great. So was Kevin the bartender and Kevin the manger. Definitely will return. :)

My recent stay at the JW Marriott in St. Maarten was a mixed bag of experiences. Nestled in what felt like the middle of nowhere, the hotel boasted undeniable beauty but was still in the throes of construction, resulting in a few hiccups along the way. Upon arrival, it became evident that the construction was still ongoing, with occasional hammering echoing throughout the property. The power situation was a bit erratic, with frequent outages, albeit brief ones. Additionally, our first day was met with the inconvenience of a fire alarm test, disrupting the tranquility as soon as we arrived. But it only lasted that day. However, despite these initial setbacks, the staff at JW Marriott St. Maarten truly shone. While there were a couple of encounters with slightly rude staff members, the majority were friendly, attentive, and eager to assist, enhancing our overall experience. One aspect that stood out was the food service at the resort's restaurants, which was both efficient and delicious. We never found ourselves waiting endlessly for our meals, and the quality of the food was consistently high. Personally, I found the quesadillas to be a particular highlight. The hotel itself exuded cleanliness and modernity. The gym, could benefit from some additional parts for the equipment. Despite the allure of the hotel's aesthetics and amenities, the location left much to be desired. The nearby beach, though picturesque, was too rough for our liking.

The property was not ready for occupancy. The fitness center had the bare minimum. No cleaning wipes for the equipment. The “resort view” was of a wall with about 8 feet of overgrown grass in between. We paid a $50 resort fee. There were no amenities.

Recently renovated and undergoing some more renovations but not disruptive to the stay. Location is isolated and quiet, need a car or taxi to get around. Good food options on site. Beach is swimmable but some seaweed on the side and somewhat rough surf when windy. Pool is beautiful. Special shout out to Elizabeth at the reception desk and Jacqui at concierge. Valet including Stevenson were great (only valet parking allowed for now) as were beach attendants. Budget 45 minutes to an hour to get to the airport , car rental return or Simpson bay. Staff are new and learning but attentive.

We ended up staying here last minute after we visited our STR and found it in an undesirable area and we did not feel safe. I immediately got on the Expedia App and found the J.W. Marriott!! I would have booked here in the 1st place if I would have known about it. But, the property had only opened 2 weeks prior to our stay and I booked back in November. The J.W. was a welcoming site after a long day of traveling and our STR fiasco! Expedia and the J.W. saved the day!! The staff is extremely attentive and friendly. The pool and beach area are gorgeous and the food was yummy!

The bad reviews almost scared me off. Do not believe them. We had a wonderful time! The staff is excellent and went out of their way to welcome and help us. They acknowledged our birthdays in so many different and lovely ways -we were celebrating a 21th, 60th, and 90th! Spa treatments were amazing, food delicious, festive drinks! We will be back.

Where to begin! This is a new resort so we knew they would be ironing some things out but the rooms were so pristine, the service was amazing ! We can’t fault them. The building itself is beautiful and grand, the concierge was so so so helpful with suggestions for dinner and day activities. Steps away from a private beach so we watched the sunrise most mornings. The buffet breakfast was excellent (be warned: they charge you for water). The pool bar staff could be a little more attentive but the lobby bar makes up for it (Kevin makes 10/10 drinks and is a joy!!). Shanice, Sabrina, Todd! We can’t thank you enough. We will most definitely be back. Congratulations on opening one of the top hotels on the island!

My Fiancé and I Loved Everything About this Hotel. The Property was Clean and Beautiful. The Staff were very friendly, kind and professional. I never leave reviews but our stay at the JW Marriott was perfect! No complaints and I'm one that travel with my own sheets, towels, wash cloths and blanket. Hands down great!

Stayed four nights at The Morgan and one night at JW Marriott after our flight was cancelled (which seems to happen daily on this island so plan travel schedule accordingly). We wish we had stayed 4 nights at JW and 1 at The Morgan. The location is quiet and hotel more of a luxury stay.

The best thing about this hotel is the staff! They are amazing and always smiling and friendly and working their best in a brand new hotel to assist. To name a few, Marla at the front desk who helped with some minor issues on first night, Martha in housekeeping who looks like she works really hard and keeps a positive friendly attitude every day, and Dave the Bellman who was also very friendly and courteous at the front door and with getting the rental car from valet quickly whenever we needed it! Management though is the weakest part of the hotel. They need to do a better job training. From a security guard who did not know the name of an in hotel restaurant to hearing about multiple tables around us receiving incorrect orders at Carambola (though ours came out ok), and even that first night not having the scannable QR code for menu in our room (but again Marla was super helpful printing out a paper version of the menu for us), the hotel is what I would expect from a place that just told us it was open for only a week so far. I think that the staff is wonderful and with a bit more training this hotel can be top notch. When we went they had not yet opened the spa and daycare area so I can not comment on those. However, the beach on which it is located named Dawn beach is very nice and has great sunrises. The hotel pool and swim up pool bar are great! Very well laid out entertainment area outside. Need better TV - some channels do not work. Overall great hotel!
