I really enjoyed my time here. The staff was very helpful and I had a whole room to myself as there were very few tourists when I was visiting.

Best location ever!
Best location ever, right next to cafe, Resturanta, bars, dairy, liquor store and cafes. 5 mins walk to the wharf where the ferry departs, tour pick ups, central town and supermarket. Super friendly staff. The super king size bed was great too! The lodge is just a bit dated but the price was fair.

The staff were friendly and fun in the evenings but it's definitely a quiet hostel. The beds weren't the most comfy, pack mosquito spray! Plenty of bars and food places around. Super close to the beach which I loved

A place to relax and get away
This is in a unique and historical location. Nice and quiet location. Features outdoor jacuzzi, foot baths and movie area While kitchen is small for a criwd, the daily meals were well worth spending the money and not cooking...accommodating all types of dietary issues Nice place for some solitude

The location was really great! I stayed in a dorm style bedroom which was overall fine but I would recommend more outlets (or more accessible outlets), as well as maybe oil up the bunk beds so they don't squeak so much. But great amenities in the kitchen!

It's an easy location but loud near the main way into the town. Hotel staff are friendly but subpar cleaning. The bathroom was poorly cared for and the floor was smelly. It's okay, but there are better hostels in my opinion.

Great location and lovely patio! Would’ve loved to see the bathroom get cleaned more frequently, but it still was lovely! Thanks for a great stay!

We enjoyed our stay at Salt Water Lodge. The hotel manager helped take our luggage to our room on the second floor and also helped us bring our luggages down at check out. The room was clean and well made up when we got back from sight seeing. We are satisfied with our stay.

A hotel stay at hostel prices.
An amazing stay, not your typical hostel. The room was spacious and clean, friendly staff. If there had been soap in the bathroom I'd have thought I was in a hotel!

Great hostel in Paihia!
I had the 4 girl dorm with attached bathroom. The room and bathroom was very clean, it had storage cabinets you could lock up with a pad lock and there was a mini-kitchen in there too with tea, coffee, plates, everything. One of the nicest hostels I've stayed in. Definitely would stay here again. Oh and there are free bicycle rentals!

Very nice - but noisy!
We were here overnight prior to competing in the Kerikeri Half-marathon, the following morning. We were very happy with the service we received and everything was fine and fulfilled our expectations. Unfortunately, it is directly adjacent to a restaurant/bar which meant it was very loud and noisy with the usual drunken raucous noise and profanity till the early hours of the morning. This spoilt our stay somewhat but was not the motel owner's fault. However, in future we would not stay here when we really needed to sleep!

Good clena hostel.
Very good, rooms and facilities are very clean - probably the cleanest hostel I've stayed at. Staff are very friendly.The kitchen and lounge area are large and well equipped. Only negatives are the bunk beds are a bit squeaky and shaky so everyone in the room knows when you roll over and there was a bit of noise at night from nearby bars. I was there on a Saturday night though so it is probably much quieter on other nights and the bars closed after a while anyway.
