Pau is close to a range of colorful Pyrenees Atlantiques’s more popular attractions. Two attractions that should be on every visitor’s itinerary is the fabulous Church of Saint-Martin and the much-loved Musee Bernadotte. Also, well worth the effort are the Chateau de Pau and the Musee des Beaux-Arts.
If the weather is good head outside and make the most of the nearby green spaces. Read a book or newspaper in one of the parks and gardens, which include Beaumont Park.
One of the best ways to get some exercise and fresh air is to book a round at one of the area’s challenging golf links like the Pau Golf Club in Billere.
Sports fanatics vacationing in Pau should head to nearby Palais de Sports de Pau to see the Élan Béarnais Pau-Orthez in action. On game days follow the procession of green and white, to the stadium, then after the full-time hooter blows, join local basketball lovers at a nearby pub, bar or cafe for a post-game drink.
After spending the day enjoying Pau, relax for the night at one of the area’s bed-and-breakfasts, hotels or short-stay apartments. Check out the rooms, rates and amenities at the Brit Hotel Bosquet, the Appart'City Pau Centre, or the Best Western Continental.
