Amazing resort minutes away from Florence
Our stay at Florence Hills and Resort was great! Service was amazing, all staff was very attentive. Nice pool size and outdoor lounging and seating area to relax after walking around Florence. The suite was comfortable and very clean. We had dinner at the restaurant and enjoyed a great meal. We had the ham and cheese board, the risotto with pears and almonds, and the Fiorentina aka a huge T-bone steak. Can’t forget to mention the astonishing views of the mountains, so calming!

The property is really nice in terms of design with lots of potential but unfortunately it’s really poorly run. The staff was helpful and kind but there were only 3 people working on the entire place, no receptionist, no concierge, no customer service. I would never stay here again.

Absolutely loved it here. Beautiful views, quiet place, kids loved the pool. Maybe more dining options are needed here, but overall it was great holiday. Would definitely go back again.

The hotel is great, it looks nice, it's clean and has a very nice buffet breakfast. The downside is you definitely need a car as there is not much in the village restaurant wise. The water pressure in the showers are a bit lacking

So i am pretty picky person, but its its nothing to complain about this property!!starting with Sara that waited for us almost 30 minutes without even knowing if we are gonna arrive or not.plus she took thw time to show us the room and give us some traveling tips!! Plus the lady from the breakfast area was extra nice and brought us some salami and cheese since we got there late and it was nothing left! The room was very clean and beautiful view!! Thank you all for making put stay great!!!

Amazing hotel and spa with stunning views. Beautiful building and rooms with a good choice of breakfast items. Very welcoming hosts and a very relaxing experience. I will definitely go back! Just a shame the restaurant was closed as taxis are quite pricey in the area and there's not a lot within walking distance. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Good location
a good location - you can see a lot of Tuscany. The view from restaurant and some windows towards the hills was brilliant but not from our room. Not very comfortable bathroom-sitting on the toilet bowl-my head was reaching the glass door of the shower. On the second day when someone collect the rubbish ( no cleaning during our stay ) and made our beds a part from our makeup was gone to. overall happy with the privacy in separate buildings.

Great staff, very friendly! Free upgrade when we arrived! They gave us a great service for the breakfast. Clean and no issue with the room. Overall quiet and relaxing place. Free parking available if you have a car.

Very relaxing place
I stayed at the resort on my own and the staff were amazingly friendly, helpful and I didn't feel like I was on my own ! The facilities really suit couples so I'd highly recommend, just set off early if you wish to commute into the city centre as the buses in the area are not very frequent but cheap Overall it's been great, fresh breakfast everyday and warm cosy room to relax !

Conveniently located countryside hotel
Stayed there during vacation, visiting Florence, Bologna and Sieci (with rented car). Nice quiet location, spacious rooms with microkitchen, fresh air, scenery. The only little problem - very few restaurants nearby, so the day I missed to have dinner in the city there was little choice around.

Hmmmm....
I am very baffled about this place: it looked very glamorous but did not feel right since we arrived. extremely hard to find due to lack of sign posts, awkward entrance to the garage that we could not find at first. lack of directions to the reception, small staircase with water leak leading out of the car park (extremely difficult and dangerous with heave suitcases). due to my partner`s health issues I have asked for a possibility to have a room with balcony. This has been accommodated but we overlooked a scrap yard and housing estate :( i was sooooo gutted as i was hoping for wonderful Tuscan rolling hills view). also, we were placed above a couple with one noisy child. their friends with another small child were staying on the other side of the resort. why would you put a childless couple next to a family?? about the place: i really don`t know what to think.. It was nice but the location spoiled it all; also, we assumed there will be no children in place like that as there is absolutely nothing to do for them. plus who brings kids to a spa hotel? Unfortunately that was not the case and the children were running wild due to lack of activities for them. water in the pool was freezing! swimming not possible despite 27 degrees outside. Breakfast was nice, staff friendly. but overall it did not feel right :( shame

Beautiful location and friendly staff
Great views from this hotel high in the Florence Hills. Staff friendly and helpful. We had the Classic Suite and accommodation was more than large enough for 4 of us. Represents fantastic value for money, especially as breakfast included. Small kitchenette (2 induction hob rings) meant we could prepare simple meals if too tired to go out in the evening. Very convenient for visiting Florence which was main purpose of our visit. Also great location for visiting local vinyards and hill towns.

Nice modern hotel in a very calm and peaceful location though not the easiest to get to. Rooms could use some finishing touches- hardware covered and new paint. Staff was friendly and break was good!

Fantastic...would stay there again in a second.
Terrific all around...the pool was so refreshing....super breakfast! Underground parking kept our rental car (which we arranged through the hotel) cool...great for families, they have a play gym...we already miss our morning coffee from staff and drinks at night!

Nice clean friendly hotel
My wife got very bad hay fever after our 2nd day in Italy and were forced to stay back at Genoa for 1 more day for a doctor appointment. Due to this complication, I needed to call Florence Hill Resort to cancel my "non-refundable" reservation for the 1st day. The reception lady really knows what service means and instead of giving me hard time about the cancellation, she told me "no problem, we'll cancel it for you and most important is your wife to get better." This really impressed me...

The hotel was great, made even better by the wonderfully helpful staff. The area is a little quiet, so it would have been easier with a car, but if you're looking to relax, you couldn't go wrong with the florence hills.

A mixed bag
FHLR was clean and roomy but, as previous reviewers have said, this isn't particularly luxurious nor is it a resort. While modern and functional, it had a very sterile feel to it. Fans of techno-chic may prefer it. The staff was a mixed bag. Sara tried hard to be helpful. The man who checked us in, however, recommended a restaurant in the next town. We asked if it was open on a Sunday and were told “Of course, or I wouldn’t have told you to go there.” We drove there and it was closed -- with its hours clearly stated on the door: "never" open on Sunday. We asked about parking at the station the next morning. “No Problem," he said. "There is always parking available there.” It was filled by commuters by 8 a.m. So it's true they are only a 10 minute drive to the train station (in the town of Pontessieve) but it consumed 1.5 hours because of his flip answers. Finally -- when we receive a confirmation that says it is inclusive of "all fees and taxes," we are inclined to believe that is the price we'll pay. This hotel presented us with an extra bill of 12 Euros for our 2-night prepaid stay. We haven’t encountered this in any other Hotels.com listing, which state clearly if there are additional taxes. Sara, quite appropriately, waived the fee and we felt badly for her being placed in the middle, but whether it is the hotel trying to keep the "headline" price low or Expedia/Hotels.com doing so, it seemed pretty smarmy. State ALL fees and taxes up front, please!

Really enjoyed the stay, the breakfast included was a real treat, the room and the amenities were new and really clean (there were cut nails on the window rack, but if I wouldn't lean out for the views I wouldn't have noticed lol)

Lovely hotel, located 5km from Pontassieve (a town with 30 min train routes to Florence). Very clean, spacious rooms. Beautiful views of the Tuscan hills. Perfect as a base for exploring Tuscany by car.

Nice hotel but not Luxury!
Well, this hotel is clean and modern, simply decorated as pictures. We booked a suite but were disappointed not to have a balcony or terrace in the sun. There was a table and chairs at the door but this was not a sun terrace or place that you would want to sit of an evening with your glass of chianti! Breakfast was nice, lunch was huge and there is no evening meals on offer. pool was decent. The self catering facility was very simple... 2 ring hob, fridge and plates and cutlery. No washing machine or clothes drying facility. I personally like to be able to hang my beach towels and swimwear out to dry. Sadly we could only drape over chairs! Bedroom was spacious with large wardrobe but there was no drawers or shelves so we had to leave small stuff in suitcases. Also there was safe in room. The staff were helpful in recommending restaurants but unfortunately we couldn't find any locally. Beware if travelling with children - restaurants only open 19.30 onwards (if at all!) Considering it is peak season half of italy was shut... very strange... August was not a good time to visit. We were amazed that Tuscany was so un-touristy... very quiet... but that's a good thing!

The hotel is exactly as it is advertised, clean and perfect. The staff could not have been nicer and more helpful. A lovely new small development, one could have a nice relaxing time here, the surrounding countryside is beautiful. The only down side is the hotel is fitted into quite a small site with other apartments impeding your view of the surrounding countryside. That is a pity.

Beautiful landscape, peaceful town
I really enjoyed the landscape of the area, and the staff was very helpful. Pelago, where the hotel is located, is just a short bus ride to Pontassieve, which has become my new favorite town. The hotel also provided complementary breakfast, and the food was fantastic with a great selection of food. The wi-fi worked well, but only on the first floor of the room. Pelago is a bit far from Florence (about 16 miles) but I only had to take a bus to Pontassieve and a train to Florence. The only negative about the hotel was that the swimming pool was cold but that is out of their hands since it is heated by the sun. Overall, I really enjoyed our stay here.

An excellent apartment
We spent two great nights at the Florence Hills Luxury Resort. It's worth the 20 km drive from Florence through the Tuscany countryside. We were welcomed with a glass of wine and excellent treatment by the multilingual staff -- especially Sara, Giada and Andrea who looked after our every need. The suite itself was spacious and modern; the only nit to pick was that there were six of us, but only one bathroom. However, we just had to carefully plan our use of the shower. Giada gave us the excellent suggestion of taking the train into Florence from Pontessieve instead of trying to find parking in Florence which is not easy. They also helped us when our daughter came down with a fever and called ahead and directed us to get medical attention for her. All in all, excellent facilities (lovely pool, beautiful suites) a well-run hotel and an excellent staff.

A perfect 3 nights in Tuscany
The Florence Hills Luxury Resort was the perfect spot for a 3 night stay in Tuscany with our 3 teenagers. The suite was spacious, comfortable and modern with plenty of room to spread out. The location was ideal for exploring the Chianti region with a decent sized town within 10 minutes. The area is beautiful and on the days when the kids didn't want to join us, they spent time at the pool or relaxing in the room. The best part of this hotel was the staff. They could not be more accommodating and nice. We would definitely return to this hotel.

This is a great place with even better value. The room is huge and clean, with all the necessary facilities including kitchenette (hint: There're salt and oil given too!). The staff are extremely friendly and help, and speaks good english. You'll definitely need a car to stay here.

When we arrived at the resort, the views were amazing. Our room was upgraded which was also a pleasant surprise. The staff were extremely helpful with their local, and personal knowledge of Tuscany-nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was simple and perfect for our continental requirements- fresh bread, pastries, cold meats, cereals and fresh fruit. The pool area was always peaceful. Underground secure parking was provided which kept the car cool from the sun. Would definitely return. #

The Florence Hills Hotel is a lovely hotel for a base to visit Tuscany and the surrounding cities. The room was clean and tidy and the staff were very helpful and pleasant. Breakfast was varied and filling for the day ahead. A car and SatNav is a must though as the hotel is up in the hills. The only negative was the room we stayed in had an adjoining door and was a bit noisy when the other room was occupied.

Far from the maddening crowd in The Florence Hills
Perched on a hill with a view in Pelago, within an hour's drive from the heart of Firenze, this minimalist-styled 4-star resort was a rare find at the low opening rate of 34 Euros/night (newly opened 6-months ago). It certainly was worth the 150 Euros 2-day car rental to get there. Staff service and attention to the comfort of their clients were outstanding. The sparkling infiniti pool and high hotel terraces were like eyecandy to the soul. The surroundings were peaceful and soothing after the hustle and bustle of Florence and the complimentary breakfast buffet and easy car parking take it up another couple of notches. The only downside, if you could call it that, is the slightly remote location and dearth of eating places in the immediate vicinity. Otherwise, it would have been 5 stars all the way!

Struttura molto bella e curata. Appartamenti grandi e puliti. Piscina ed esterno molto bello (peccato non averlo usato a causa della pioggia). Unica cosa negativa che consiglierei di migliorare è l’accesso. Siamo arrivati quando era buio e non è stato immediato capire quale fosse l’accesso alla struttura sia pedonale che del garage non essendoci indicazioni. Inoltre entrando in garage in auto, non c’era alcuna luce automatica che si accendesse al nostro accesso, ed ho dovuto vagare nel garage aiutandomi con la luce del mio telefono per trovare un interruttore manuale, senza però trovarlo, quindi abbiamo dovuto scaricare l’auto al completo buio (situazione davvero poco piacevole che lo sarebbe stata ancor di più per una donna sola).
