Very happy

The guest home was very cute, the backyard was fenced in and private. When you arrive don't be alarmed that you are at someones home, you honestly would hardly know it once you enter the backyard as it is a separate building with its own entrance and yard. It slept 3 adults and a baby perfectly. The kitchen was adorable and had all the tools you would need to cook. A pack and play was provided, there was a queen bed and the chair pulled out into a twin bed. We did not have our dogs but the set up was great had we brought them. The home was clean. I would return if I ever come back to the area!

Great location
The check in orocess was a breeze! The property was clean and really cute. My only complaint is the beds were uncomfortable. The sofa bed was like sleeping on chicken wire. It needs a good matress topper or something. The queen bed dipped in the middle, so my daughter and i had a hard time sleeping. Other than the beds, the place was great.

Im torn..depends on what you are looking for.
We stayed 3 days, a d really wanted to leave after check in. We knew the host had several dogs from previous reviews but was unprepares to have our 3 (leashed) at the door of the unit when the dogs behind the gate began a very aggressive attack on the gate next to door. The gate moved outward by about 4 inches (almost giving way) My 79 yr old husband had our 2 elderly dogs and our yr old large puppy. As you can imagine it was a couple chaotic moments. As we entered my husband noted the approximately 6 to 8 inches of damaged door frame. The place smelled a little but put it down to being closed. To be honest I wad very prepared to overlook a great deal due to the willingnesd to host our dogs and the very reasonable pricing. It was clear the unit isdecorated and furnished in "yard sale items". We didn't know how cheaplt furnished u til we set on the lovely lookin brow loveseat where you sink several inches. I covered it with towels i brought to protect it...i moved all pillows so none would be damaged. We tried throughout our stay toget the mini split to work. The window ac unit did have a heat setting which allowed us to keep unit warm enough. That bookcase in the room divides the room and allows the maybe queen size bed ti share the room with about 6 inches on one side and maybe 10 inches on the otherside. The linens were non matched , very thin , and a twin size white comforter that didn't e en fully cover top of bed. There is much more.

In my defense I have 2 Labrador retrievers that jumped on your fence 1 time. After you checked out I had to file a complaint with Vrbo regarding the damage you did to the unit. Which has been left unpaid :-/ I definitely do not recommend hosting this couple. After they damage your property, they are mad that you have to file a complaint and then leave you a bad review of untrue events. Good luck to you both in the renters world with your dogs

Dogs bark all night could not sleep
Everything would be perfect if the dogs didn’t bark or cry all night. Not our dogs though. The dogs of the house. We could not sleep and decided to leave after staying only 1 night, although we booked for 2 nights

Sorry to hear you did not enjoy your stay. The dog situation has been resolved. You didn’t reach out so I thought you had left from the horrific MESS your dogs had left. My house cleaner charged extra from all the mess on sheets and wall :-/

This place was not we expected. When we first entered the room. It was stuffy and smell strong chemical. They used Fabuloso. It was awful smell. It gave me bad headache. The bed was very uncomfortable. It was lumpy. They had 15 dogs that barked constantly. They woke us up at 4:30 am for the last three nights. It was nightmare. The silverware and fridge was very filth. The dish pan is unbelievable dirty. I would not recommend them. Trust me don't waste your money.

Nice, but disruptive and unprofessional in my opinion.
I stayed here for about a week and really loved the space. My biggest complaints come from the dogs that the hosts have, and a specific situation that occurred. I brought my pup with me, and every day, at 4am, their dogs would go crazy barking and would wake me and my dog up. They would bark for 20-30+ mins before stopping. My dog would then need to go outside and their dogs would try to almost attack him through a small gap in the fence from the main yard. I had to sleep with the TV on and playing the entire time I was there to have a shot of sleeping and my dog not freaking out. There was also another situation where the owner and 3-4 other adult individuals entered the back yard with no warning or notice until I walked out. When they entered, they all opted to not close the gate and lock it behind them, which allowed my dog to get out and all the way down the street. The apologies for the situation, in my opinion, seemed unprofessional and insincere, especially when the comments made were “my dogs would do the same thing!” then why didn’t you close the gate????? Of a private area being rented to a paid tenant? Let alone let me know they were coming back there. I had no problems with them coming back, but my dog should never have gotten out, and they should have told me they were entering the area prior. If you’re a heavy sleeper, or don’t have a reactive dog who likes to go on adventures, this may be a great spot for you. But if not, maybe stay somewhere else.

As you have read in all these reviews the owner has a bunch of big dogs, if you are not a dog person, I suggest you do stay here, unless you understand dogs make noisy. I left for work at 4:30 therefore I was awake when her dog went out for their morning bathroom break, they were a bit noisy no problem for us as we understand. The dogs were inside most of the day. What you see in the pictures is what you get. We stayed for 2 weeks and we were comfortable along with our small dogs.

Bad Wifi and No Sleep: Our stay in Sunnyslope
Cute studio. Owner responded quickly, A/C worked, and, bed felt comfortable. However, the owner had 3 large dogs and the poodle was aggressive. All of them, but primarily the poodle, were barking, lunging and scratching at the flimsy fence and window between us every time we passed the hallway or when we brought out our 12lb dog into the fenced, divided backyard. Dryer went off at 4am every day as well as dogs barking at 6am so my partner and I got nearly no sleep. Our guess was the husband worked in construction or some odd shift. Wifi was unusable (could not even browse a website without it crashing) so had to use a hotspot to WFH. Half the pots did not work with the induction stove and the air fryer had poor circulation (not crispy) compared to our $40 one at home. If you have to use the Wifi, want a good nights sleep, or have an territorial dog, STAY AWAY. Otherwise, consider the good price and take a chance in Sunnyslope. The showers were hot and it was only 20 minutes from downtown. But we were nodding off from lack of sleep from our "vacation" after the dryer and the dogs.

Nice little place; everything we needed was there, including a private yard. Good location for us (3 people plus one dog) while I attended a conference at the Hilton Tapatio Cliffs just 5 minutes drive away. Great value and a friendly host.

Cute little house, great yard for the furbabies, only negative is their dogs barked until late in the evening and woke we at 0415 in the morning. When I would take my kids out, theirs went crazy at the fence, or in the window. There were a lot of flying black bugs that would make their way in to the home, maybe spray for flying insects. Otherwise, would certainly stay again.

I stayed four nights, and the kitchen was perfect for my son and I. Highly recommend the hike on North Mountain Park, trail 44. Great place !!! It is the mountain just north of the house.

Exactly what you pay for.
The property was clean and decorated very well. It’s a studio so only fit for exactly that- you and a spouse or you and a friend if you’re comfortable sleeping together. Being right next to where the dogs are they did bark early in the morning and it was right there which I did see in previous reviews but was still hard since we went to sleep so late (that is clearly on us though). The host was helpful and friendly.

I am putting everything as one 1 star because I never even got to enter the property. I rented this property 4 months in advance of my trip and then I did not get to stay here. I was cancelled on 2 hours prior to my check in time. Property owner told me that she had sent me an email a week before check in saying she had to cancel. That was a lie. I never received any emails or messages from her. Because I was cancelled on 2 hours before check in, I ended up getting stranded because everything else was completely booked in the area.

Sorry for your awful experience, due to weather, and all the storms in Phoenix, which I have no control over it caused major roof damage to the point that the unit could not be entered and had to be repaired before anyone could enter. My apologies for your inconvenience.

Charming Guest House
We only needed a place to stay over night. Alison was flexible with accommodating with an earlier check in which helped us with our early evening plans. Safe neighborhood. Easy directions into guest house. Small space well set up as a studio apartment. Others have made comments about owners dogs. It is good to know that they do bark, however only when we were coming/going. They are well fenced, and were not a factor at all. The bed mattress is softer, if that is an issue for anyone. I slept well. Kitchen with a 2 burner stovetop, convection toaster oven, microwave & refrigerator. We only used the coffee machine. Two prepackaged coffee pods (4 cups each) were provided by owner. Overall, perfect overnight stay for us. Thank you.

It was a nice place for the price which was very affordable. The place is in the backyard and she has a few dogs who went ballistic when my dog went by and after a day he started barking back. They were usually inside tho. Being a dog owner I get it but just an FYI. The biggest issue I had was Wi-Fi kept dropping. I work full time and need a stable connection. The host was very responsive and kept resetting it but it would still drop. She was great about any questions I had and as a single female I felt safe there. The neighborhood is nice except for all the trash piled up in front of peoples houses. A neighbor said they were short staffed or something and haven’t gotten around to picking it up.

Comfortable separate ADU with well-equipped kitchen and plenty of closet space. Two of Allison's dogs will bark when you go in and out, but they're very friendly, and as a woman traveling alone I actually felt safer knowing they'd bark if anyone other than Allison came into the back yard. Would definitely stay again.

Not pet friendly. Owners dogs are aggressive. No privacy. Poor house lighting, couldn’t find location at first or my way to the bungalow (owner had to help me). Parking is curbside on the poor lit street. Bring your own pillows. Owners n dogs up n noisy at 5 am. No cable. Owner tried to open the front door while I was in there. I didn’t know it was her because there are no windows or peep hole on the door. She admitted it to me later in the night when I confronted her in the backyard—-again no privacy. I’ve rented air b n b’s for over 13 years, even internationally, worst experience ever.

No worries, the feelings are 100% mutual. I hope you find the help that you need :-) as a property owner. I definitely do not recommend this guest and would not ever rent to her again. Not only was she very rude and unfriendly. she left dog poop all over the front yard for several days before cleaning it up. I don’t even want to tell you what the unit looked like when she left it was one of the worst guest I have ever experienced. Good luck out there in the renters world.

Comfortable, well equipped space with nice yard for our Dalmatian. Close to bike paths and trails as well as shopping and restaurants. Very accommodating host! Main issue was the wifi wasn’t quite as good as expected. Overall an enjoyable stay Thank you Alison

Wonderful Stay
We had a wonderful stay. The guesthouse was clean, quiet, safe and comfortable. The AC worked great and that water pressure... oh, that glorious water pressure. Plus to top it all off the yard was a perfect spot for my service dog Coco to take care of her business.

Nice for the price
Cute little one bedroom guest house. -The good... Well updated Good use of space in the kitchen Really appreciate the kitchen stocked with spices and coffee Very comfortable bed Great price -The Bad... No cold water While the hosts house is nice several of the neighbors have trash in their front yards.
