It's an older place, and looking a little tired, although the staff look like they are trying to do it up. It worked for my family, as we wanted to be close to town but not in it for a few days, and this is only 20 minutes drive from the waterfront. It's also much cheaper than the CBD and has free parking. The Aotea Lagoon across the road has a great playground and splash pad for younger children. On the other hand, the pool closed at 6pm, which annoyed my children, particularly after arriving at 5.30 on the first day. The restaurant was never open, apparently due to a conference that I never saw. That didnt bother me, but might bother others. The wifi worked intermittently the first night, which was an issue for my teenager, but they fixed it by the second night.
