Clean Accommodation and Cozy
No wifi and cell service is very spotty as one would expect. Not a criticism, just an observation. There are a good deal of steps to deal with so beware if you have mobility issues. The lake itself is a walk away, no direct views from the house. The rear deck needs some TLC.

Family staycation
We were looking for a place to take our family to get them away from our everyday life. We found this place on the on the Internet and read the reviews and decided to give it a shot. We then arrived there, and the house was very clean, very big and spacious. To get in the front door they gave us a lockbox code. We were understood by owner town is a bit of a distance, so definitely get what you need if you don’t have intentions of leaving plenty of cups silverware, plates, everything that you need to leave your normal life outside of Internet And Wi-Fi for the kids, which is what we were looking to get rid of for the weekend. You will have a great time. There are plenty of trails. If you like the outdoors and you want to take your family away from the easy life and get them onto their outdoor outdoors. This is a place to go. We will definitely be running again from them in the future and thank you for allowing us to stay in your home .

Not Lakefront - poor location
very small bedrooms and weird bathroom setup; additionally, not much privacy for anyone with the loft setup. outdoor deck very dirty/ unusable and the walk down and over the creek/water to the dock was VERY LONG. Felt a little misled by photos and description. Not what we had hoped for.

They’re not kidding about the stairs!
Had a bumpy start but the property manager and owner were amazing in resolving things asap. Everything was great after that. Way more stairs than I realized even though they warn you!

Peaceful Getaway
Quiet getaway location near Craytor Lake - perfect for R&R. Great kitchen - and plenty of sleeping space. Internet Connectivity wasn’t good - but an opportunity to put the devices down and reconnect playing some good old fashioned board games. Would go back!

Great Place
The house was very nice, clean. It is very comfortable and has everything you would need. We had a great time. However Walking down the steps from the driveway to the front door is difficult. If you have problems walking up or down steps this could be difficult. Handrails on all steps would be a big help. A number of local dogs wonder around the house and do there business everywhere, to include the front door area.

Nice, quick getaway
My family had a nice mid-week stay. The house was as-expected, and we had the lake pretty much to ourselves. Mountain2Island delivered a rental kayak and paddle board right to the community dock for us, and we had a great time paddling around the coves and swimming.

Lots of steps
I absolutely love the house and the area, but saying lakefront is a little off. There is flights of stairs that are steep, wooded walkway and then a path in a ravine to get to the lake. Still a beautiful place to stay. We enjoyed it!

Woodsy Retreat
This is a lovely little house on a quiet road. The big bedroom (queen) is in an open loft area so very little privacy. The online listing is lacking transparency regarding the outside. The older, wooden platform/walkway had no railing. The little railing on the stairs offers little support because of splinters. The uneven stone walkway to the front door is uneven for anyone. There is absolutely no view of the lake and to get to it requires a lengthy hike downhill. It's really a dishonest practice to say this property is lake front because it's not. Now that we know what to expect with this property, we would rent this again

A nice place to go and get away from everything. We did some site seeing in nearby towns and hiking on some of the many trails near the VA WV border. The only downside was the very poor communication with the property management firm regarding check-in.

Review
Beautiful home with pretty much everything you needed. Home was clean and well kept. Kitchen was great. Loved the duel oven, island cook top, gas grill outside on porch and room to move around. Books and movie collection was good. Enjoyed watching "Goonies" again after a lot of years. Nice having a dog crate for the dog and all the lake toys and floaties. A little dissapointed though that the house is not on the lake. They did state that there is a trail that you have to go down and some stairs but did not expect this. You can't really say the home is on the lake. It is not. It is a long haul down steep stairs to get there. Not fun hauling kayaks and swim stuff down there. And absolutely no view of the lake. All in all, this is a great home, just not really a lake vacation. I would not rent it again, just because I want to be on the water. But again, the home is a great place and we had a good experience.
