Parking was shown as free when we booked, however desk clerk wanted to charge us $10. Air conditioning system was inadequate and could only be set at 22 deg. C at the coldest… it never got cooler than 25 degrees in the room. Great location!!!

We had a horrible experience!! When you pay close to $600 for 2 days, you expect to have things like a working fridge in your room, we had to get ice, from the bar, 2 floors down, 2-3 times per day to keep the food we had bought cold! We had a shower that constantly flooded the entire bathroom and hallway floor and most importantly, a patio door that didn’t open and close properly!!! The reason we rented this one and paid all this extra money was because we had a hot tub on our balcony, so what’s the point of that if we can’t go out because the door won’t open, and when we do manage to get it open, it won’t close, hence letting all the mosquitoes in and being bitten all night long!!! The place was also infested with fruit flies. When we asked to speak to a manager to try and get some type of compensation for all of this, we were told in a VERY rude way that the managers weren’t there, she wouldn’t put us in contact with them and basically told us to leave! Worse hotel EVER and we have travelled all over the world! I absolutely do NOT recommend this hotel!!! The only positive thing I have the say is that it had an amazing view!

It is a good property but needs tender loving care. The air conditioning in the bedroom its not work properly. The green areas are not clean. The common areas need improvement. The service is good. The employees are nice.

The hot tub in the room was very good fun, The hotel is very modern but a little far out of Taormina, the sea views are amazing but the pebble beach is not so fun.. The property had very little information about the room and area, we had a couple of issues with the toilet and a loud noise coming from ventilation system which the reception didn’t seem too interested in. Bar staff have a great service and very friendly as were the restaurant staff and food was very nice, maybe a little more choice is needed. The rooms were cleaned very well daily!

Nice Hotel in a quiet town near Taormina
Hotel is fine with good housekeeping staff. Our rooms were cleaned very early each morning while we were having breakfast. Front Office staff do not speak a lot of English, but they are very helpful. Breakfast in the weekends is pretty good, but on Monday and Tuesday mornings the pastries and croissants were staled and obviously from the weekend. Overall a good place for one night or max two.

Nice hotel, decent pool area
Hotel is not too bad, about 20 min drive to Taormina and has free parking outside. Modern looking and decent WIFI connection inside of the hotel. Staff were quite helpful every time I spoke to them. Area is ok, it is next to a rocky beach, not many food places around. Great for a short stay. Breakfast was the same each day, nothing amazing.

Comfortable and fantastic location.
Very happy in a standard room at Main Palace Hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful, even driving me to the closest laundromat to do my washing. The only one downside was that the wireless internet in my room was slow from time to time. Apart from that I would definitely stay there again and recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Sicily.

Location and quality
The hotel is located across the road from the beach which was its only redeeming quality. It cannot be considered as a 4* hotel by any normal comparisons and seemed to be the only substantial hotel in Roccalumera. Rear facing rooms have a dreadful view but sea view rooms are ok. Food was mediocre and expensive. Parking is crazy and overcrowded. The hotel is very impersonal and sterile. As a resort Roccalumera has few facilities and is quite run down.There are no decent restaurants for miles around but plenty of noise in the evening so not good if you want to sleep at night. Better to go to Taormina and give Roccalumera a miss.

The rooms in the hotel is very run down. Quality of the food for breakfast is poor and the staff stop bring out food 30mins before breakfast is finished even when there are new guest arriving. Servers look very uninterested. Shower in the room is stains.

What we booked was not what we received!
On booking in we discovered that we did not get the room we booked through Hotels.com, after bringing this to the hotel managements attention we were not able to get them to change our room... We then contacted Hotels.com over e-mail and although I got a response it was only to say that they could not get hold of the management and then placed the ball right back into my court which left us rather disappointed and questioning the booking platforms integrity. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone as it was off the beaten track with not much surrounding the hotel. Although there was a language barrier to try to overcome we did not feel that we received a service equal to other hotels we have visited. Although the hotel seems to have been recently revamped the rooms were very plain and we had issues with the shower, toilet and extraction fan. Our saving grace was a little treasure of a restaurant less than a kilometer from the hotel called La Galleria del Gusto, this we would highly recommend if stuck in the area.

Lovely hotel, but loud music & disinterested staff
Luxury room with jacuzzi and soundproofing in rooms not too bad, however very loud thumping music until approx 2am most nights. A horrendously loud booming roof party on the Saturday night. Reception staff consistently uninterested on all levels. e.g. Ordered prepacked Breakfasts did not arrive, concerns over noise levels not addressed, lack of help with lost luggage & assistance booking theatre tickets. Also hotel advertised as having wifi although extremely unreliable.

We were travelling in sicily and needed a plce to stay in one night on our way north. This hotel was reasonably priced and had promising photos online. It is in roccalumera which is a 40 euro cab ride from the taormina train stop. The hotel may have a shuttle service, but they did not advertise it online (i only disocvred this after i asked about a taxi/car service to take us up north, which was 120 euro for 8 people, great price). The hotel was facing the water, directly across the street from the ocean. There are no other large hotels nearby. The hotel seems to be older but was renovated and has a nice modern look. Given the price (approx 125$ per night) it was higher than comparable american standards. They were picky about the number of people staying in each room and charged an extra 10 euro per guest but i think that is standard in europe. Free breakfast was 1/5 stars.

The hotel location is about 20 min by car from main activity in toarmina. The hotel is new, clean and has a nice pool. Its on the beach but you have to pay extra 5 euros each person for private beach access. The breakfast needs to be improved. Overall very nice hotel.

We found the Main Palace to be a very good hotel with friendly and helpful staff.Some staff members speak english but don,t expect english to be widely spoken outside of the hotel.The cleanliness and general upkeep of the Main Palace is to a very good standard and we were made to feel very welcome.During the evenings there is entertainment outside next to the bar area so expect some noise,so if you want a quieter room ,ask for one a little farther away from that area.The shingle beach is just a few yards away across a road and during our stay was rarely crowded. Roccalumera is a quiet coastal town with very few bars and eateries so we tended to drive fifteen minutes into Taormina most evenings for dinner. Initially we thought the hotel was a little isolated but it only encouraged us to use our rental car to explore the wider area which is certainly worth the effort(Sicily is a beautiful island and its inhabitants are welcoming). Based on our stay there, we would certainly think about a return visit at some point in the future.

lovely Manager - very helpful
when we arrived the Manager welcomed us with Champagne and nibbles - he was very polite and said that we had an upgrade - which in fact is what we booked. Having stayed in many Hotels all over the world - I think this should be 2 star not 4. Food was lovely for breakfast, but not very imaginative for Dinner. However the Hotel was in a great position overlooking the sea. Unfortunately the roof garden was not open - all the potted plants were dead and it was being done up - pity this was not completed before the start of the season - All areas were clean and tidy with the exception of the front of the Hotel - the first impression - bits and pieces of rubbish on the grass

EXCELLENT... with a little FYI
I stayed for 8 days and will definitely return many times. I went on business and needed absolute quiet while I worked. I choose this hotel since they feature sound-proof rooms. HOWEVER... the rooms themselves are mostly soundproofed to your neighbors - EXCEPT for the door and the balcony door. You can hear everything going on in the hall and if your neighbors are out on their balcony, you can hear everything through the glass doors. Those were the only "bummers" on my trip. The staff was OUTSTANDING and they went out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed/wanted. I look forward to going back this fall!

Great modern hotel with very nice staff!
Recently spent 5 nights here and was not disappointed. Hotel is modern and very clean and all staff we encountered, especially Maryl and Maria-Antoinetta at the desk were very hospitable and helpful. Location is great being right across from the beach and only a 20 minute drive to Taormina. I do recommend that you have a car though since you will have to drive to the regular tourist spots that are nearby, and there are many.

Main palace hotel
We stayed at the main palace hotel located about 16 km both of Taormina and used this as a base to see Taormina, Messina, my Etna, and if course Stromboli's very active vulcano which can be reached by boat and seen at night unless you decide to do one of the nightly hikes. The location of the hotel is away from the busy tourist areas and does require a car. The staff is friendly but most speak poor English and communication was an issue at times. Also expect to pay for parking and Internet unless you can settle with the free connection in the bar below. Getting around is easy using the affordable freeways.

The Main Palace Hotel was amazing! The staff were friendly and so helpful. The rooms are spacious and clean. I had such a lovely stay here I would definitely go again. It's just outside of Taormina in a place called Roccalumera so you escape the tourist traps. Top marks for these guys!

Beautifully finished hotel with all amenities situated in a magnificent place. Staff really tried to help though the English language might be a barrier. Maintenance is a bit lacking which is unfortunate since the hotel is only a few years old with some expensive looking finishes.

The hotel was right on the beach which was beautiful, but it was the only luxury facility in the town. There were no other quality restaurants in town. When we arrived our "honeymoon" suite was had a great view and hot tub in the middle of the room, but the hot water handle was broken and we fixed it ourselves or we would have to wait another day. It was a very good thing we rented a car or we would have missed all the sights.

The hotel was very clean and being right across from the beach was fantastic. The pool and pool area was great. We had a room with a spa on the balcony overlooking the beach but due to the all round clueless service from the girls at the front desk we couldn't use it. Great hotel but service needs to improve. ..they had sunscreen in their cabinet to purchase but they couldn't sell it (god knows why not). Hotel was full of 70 year old Germans which wasn't a bad thing because it meant we had the pool to ourselves.

Affordable luxury stay in Scicily
Stranded at the Catania airport, my wife and I decided to stay couple of days somewhere along the region's shore. Going through TripAdvisor, we noticed Main Palace Hotel, with high ratings, low price and great photos. Thinking even if some of the positives are accurate, we will be content. We arrived, for a minimal extra charge, they gave us a room facing the ocean. Still, our expectations were not too high. The room: Large, well appointed, modern, clean The view: Just a few meters away from the ocean (across a narrow street) The service: Daily cleaning with fresh high end Italian linens. In 35 years of travelling around the world, this was perhaps one of the TOP two or three places I have ever stayed. Everything was just right. There was a minor issue with air conditioning and it was fixed within one hour. The breakfast was simple and great. Of course great espresso drinks were available. Any "tourist" information we needed was provided with a smile and complete. The area, a bit on the quiet side is PERFECT. You do not have to deal with the tourist crowd, however there is a bus station right outside the hotel that takes you up to the famous town of Taormina (dream of a place and expensive for overnight stay), as well as many other small town and villages along the shore. We will be back there shortly. WE LOVED IT .....

En skuffende oplevelse. Meget kikset værelse med spa midt i værelset uden ordentlig afskærmning, Intet badeværelse, så man skulle bade i SPA. God pool, dog uden nogen form for service. Solsenge fremstod snuskede og adskillige var defekte. Møbler i lobby og udeservering var meget slidte / defekte. Det er IKK et fire stjernet hotel
