just an "OK" stay.

It wasn't great, it wasn't horrible. The internet is absolutely TERRIBLE. I now understand why it's free...because it barely works. And if you do manage to connect, the signal is ridiculously weak. The light on my bathroom vanity wasn't working, I told the front desk about it and she said she would have maintenance come fix it. I came back later that night and it was still broken. The a/c in the room is unreasonably loud. They even provide ear plugs on the night stand because they know it's loud in the room. Around 4 or 5 am every morning you hear things being carted around in the alley next to the hotel or in the lower level of the hotel. Not sure what it was, but it was pretty constant and would wake me up every morning. There was a live band playing somewhere on the block nearby...on a Monday night. Had the joy of hearing that while I was trying to go to sleep. The parking lot under the building isn't really built for anything larger than a smart car. So be careful if you have a full size car, van, or SUV. But the room was clean and the front desk staff were very kind. And the cafe attached/next door has amazing food.

Gorgeous over sized room

Posted Mar 19, 2015 on Hotels
We stay in hotels very often because of work. We always pick hotels in the same price range and this one was no exception. We walked in to our room from an exhausting trip. We were in AWE! Our room was more than just a place to sleep. It had a living room with a fireplace, a couch, an easy chair, a dining table and a sliding door that went out to our balcony. The balcony had lounge chairs, a table and regular chairs. It was huge and went down to another sliding door off the master bedroom. As we walked from the living area their was a bar sink and a Keurig coffee maker and a k-cup assortment pack of 36 coffees. Continuing on there was a five foot counter with two individual bathroom sinks in it. There was cotton balls, q-tips, shoe mitts, shampoos, rinses, lotions, shaving cream and everything you would need. Across from that was the bathroom which had a large shower encased in safety glass and it also had an over sized jaguzzi tub. The towels were over sized as well. We already felt like royalty and then we continued into the bedroom. OMG, royalty was an understatement. Unlike a lot of hotels, the channels on the tv were all the ones we pay for at home. No skimping here. I felt the stress leave my body from with this room and the jaguzzi made sure of it. The staff was so attentive. We are already scheduled to go to Davis a couple more times this year and we already reserved this room. I can't say enough about this room.

Decent

frontdesk staff were super friendly and helpful. Room was standard. Only complaint is the music played in lobby can be heard in the room until 9pm. Annoying. Other than that fine for one night stay.

Palm Court Hotel

Posted Feb 18, 2014
Purchased a room for 4 nights in December. When I showed up in February, I was informed that only 2 of the 4 nights were booked, and that one of the nights was no longer available. The computer showed that I had requested all 4 nights, but that only 2 were reserved, and that the other 2 nights were pending. The desk clerk was very helpful and found me a room in another hotel about a half mile away, so I wasn't out in the rain. But, C'mon, finish the requested booking!
