Paris, the national capital, is located 260 miles (418 kilometers) northeast of Saint-Jacques.
Saint-Jacques isn't the only place in Brittany worth seeing; visitors should also take a day trip or two to experience the charms of the nearby landscapes, communities and cultural attractions. For something different, check out the Musee de la Prehistoire and Carnac Menhirs in and around Carnac, another place in France, some 15 miles (24 kilometers), from Saint-Jacques. If you feel like doing more in this region, make your way over to Quiberon to visit the Quiberon Beach and Thalassotherapy Centre. Quiberon is 15 miles (24 kilometers) away.
When you come to Saint-Jacques, why not visit Vannes. Approximately 12 miles (19 kilometers) away, this regional city is home to Vannes Aquarium, Vannes Cathedral and Place de la Republique. Musee d'Histoire et d'Archeologie, Le Chorus Exhibition Centre and Musee de La Cohue are also good places to visit.
If you are after things to do inside, you can't better Brittany's art museums and art galleries. These are good places to soak up some of the local culture and find a special gift or two. Enjoy a little local culture with a little sunshine and fresh air at the region's ever-popular open-air markets.
When it is time to relax, try out picnicking or beach combing.
When the time comes to leave this special place, say goodbye the way French's do, with a hearty "Au revoir / À bientôt."
