Samcheok is located some 120 miles (193 kilometers) from Seoul, the capital of South Korea, and about 60 miles (97 kilometers) from Sokcho.
If you're keen to head beyond Samcheok, you'll find that the surrounding region is home to some cities, attractions and landscapes just waiting to be enjoyed. Examples of places within a relatively short distance of Samcheok are Taebaek, 20 miles (32 kilometers) to the northeast, and Gohan, 25 miles (40 kilometers) to the northeast.
