great location
Property has a great location. The place made for a good stay. The bed in the bedroom alone droops in the middle bad like a taco, but the bedding was clean and we slept alright, just woke up smooshed to each other. There was sand all over the coffee table and floor, but maybe that's to be expected that close to the beach. It rained pretty hard while we were there and the bedroom with 2 beds in it got some water in it, not sure how, the windows were closed. Over place made for a good quick weekend stay with our friends.

So-so property
Great access to beach, Belmont and eateries. Check in instructions need to be updated as there is a keypad at the garage now and no security door only the front door…issues with pizza sauce on the wall above the trash can inside ( that we cleaned off with a paper towel) and the patio table was filthy-we cleaned it also so we could use it…there were only 2 beach chairs that were usable…we enjoyed the cool temps and the close proximity to the beach 🏝️

Nice Beach location
Not ever staying in San Diego before we didn't know quite what to expect. It was wonderful being so close to the beach. Easy walking to everything you need. You are pretty much on top of each other-not much privacy (curtains very thin) but I think that's just San Diego. Neighbors were respectful of noise at least, but have to keep windows open at night if you don't want to feel hot and stuffy. Definitely a challenge to park in the garage unless you are very confident in backing up in tight spaces (primarily a challenge because of the large dumpster right behind the garage) and we had a full size car...suv or truck would be even more challenging, as listing suggests. Home is old and dated but clean and sufficient for what you're getting (location!!) In small print, the lack of AC is mentioned and we didn't catch that before we booked. If you stay in warmer days, the house does not cool off much. It was very stuffy when we first arrived and took a long time to get comfortable the first night. We were very warm the entire time, even with keeping fans running and windows open, though it improved a little keeping windows open (note-there are a couple of screens that have tears...might want to repair) If you don't sleep well when it's warm, might not be the place for you. Back bedroom bed we found out our last night was very comfortable but the room with two beds are very saggy. Might consider replacing with one similar to the other bedroom. Overall, a good experience. Would stay again if there was AC or. better fans to cool things down and move the air better.

Great Location
You cannot beat the location of this property. Literally, steps to the beach and a couple blocks away the roller coaster in Mission Beach. Great for kids! Would stay again!

Great location, comfortable beds
Perfect price for the location. Got what we expected, a decent base for a San Diego stay. The beach is a stone’s throw away, the paths on both the ocean and bay sides were great for walks and runs. The upstairs dining chairs are very loud when moved but the guests upstairs were conscientious. The area homeless are evident but not a problem.

Everything was great. The only thing I would recommend is to put some rubber or felt pads under the chairs. When you are in the bottom unit it is REALLY loud when people upstairs move the chairs.

Great Place!
We were very happy with our stay at this property! The location is great, and it has a garage that my husband’s lifted truck fit into (tight, but it fit). Compared to other places we’ve rented in this area, the rooms are larger, especially the room with 2 beds! The living room was roomy too. We used the grill to cook fish from my hubby’s fishing trip on one of the days. We loved riding our bicycles and/or walking to breakfast and dinner the other days. Nice patio and close to the beach! Owner(s) were helpful and very responsive to my questions!

Nice location. Rented to be able to cook meals but VERY limited.. no pot to boil noodles or make sauce in . No salt, pepper. Heard every noise from upstairs tenants. Paper thin walls

Locality is excellent. Ana was helpful via phone. Immediate respond was truly appreciated. Everything I was looking for in a place was here. I'.m very thankful. I just wish the instruction mentioned I have to go thru another entrance that was marked on the next property rather than me crawling in 2 dumpster on the side of the property before I finally realized where the entrance was. But over all property is walking distance to everything you will need.

The Perfect Location
My girlfriends and I had a blast at Mission Beach! The location of this house was absolutely perfect and so convenient to food, activities and most importantly, the beach! Will definitely visit again and stay here.

Great location but upon arrival it took us over two hours to get settled in because there was a car parked infront of our garage. Dishes were grossly dirty, mold was in the bath tub, Tuesday morning the cleaning crew upstairs was rearranging the apartment and being loud(at least it sounded like it). This was a birthday celebration for my friend and her birthday (tuesday) we got food ready to grill and hang out and right when we were going outside to grill the gardeners showed up with a gas powered leaf blower (not a problem but that should be told to renters so we could have been prepared) Upon us leaving that day we were bothered by unexpected visitors saying that they were told they could put their stuff in the house even though we still had more than 2 hours until check out. Fan in the room with two beds doesn't work, more than half the light switches in the house didn't work and candles put out for guest also didn't work and the TV controllers didn't work properly.

Adorable beach house!
This beach house is absolutely adorable and location is excellent. There were 4 adults and 2 small children in our group and we had plenty of space. Would definitely stay again!

The place was ok, could have been cleaner. There was 2 bedrooms with three beds and terrible mattresses. I mean terrible. Tried to sleep on the couches and it wasn’t any better. Close to the beach and restaurants, which was super nice. There was a parking spot that was perfect for a charger. Minimal dishes for cooking, so we ate out. Overall the place was ok. Wouldn’t rent again because of the sleeping situation.

This is the second time we have stayed at Mike's Place. We love the location and the management company is very responsive. We had hoped that the beds would have been updated to something more comfortable. The mattress in the master bedroom definitely should be replaced. But overall the place is comfy and pretty much has everything you need to enjoy your stay!

Fun at the Beach!
The property was just steps from the ocean. It worked wonderfully for a small family group like ours. Close to food, fun and shopping. We were able to be close to our other family staying at the beach too. It's a clean, cozy place. The only drawback would be the beds seemed older and ready to be replaced as they were not very comfortable. If the property had comfortable beds it would be perfect!! But we still enjoyed our stay and it worked very well for us. We would recommend it to others.

Overall experience was okay. The apartment is dated and not as clean as we expected. We took extra precautions due to the pandemic and we wiped things down ourselves and noted how dirty things were. The furniture is old and the bed in the master bedroom was not comfortable. The location is okay but not what I expected.

Only one problem.
The property is overall very nice. It's very close to the beach and has plenty of space. My biggest complaint is the wifi is so slow, you cannot get it to load basic websites. It continued to bump me off of it. I couldn't connect to send one email. My friend could not stay on or get it to function either. If you dont mind going your vacation without wifi then you should have no problem at all.

Great Location
Overall the place is great, but needs a few minor repairs to make it super great. When we arrived, there were hundreds of flies inside the unit and no fly swatter. It wasn't until three days after we checked in that they disappeared. It possibly could be from the garbage containers outside or fixing some of the screens. The other issue is that the toilet needs to be set so that when you sit on it it doesn't rock. Minor fix. Unit was clean and although the interior is dated, it is a fun place for the kids to hang out, especially so close to the beach.

Great Location. We enjoyed our stay.
We had such good time in this rental! We hope to come back. We really liked the location, the layout of the apartment, having the one car garage and the patio area was terrific. The only issue was the lock on the bathroom door was broken so there was no guarantee of privacy for showers, etc. This was uncomfortable for me since I'm approaching 60 and was staying here with my 30 year kids and their significant others. Nice place for a small group. House was clean and bedrooms are a good size. Very limited television...Netflix would be nice. Two units upstairs and your could hear every movement they made, but overall a good stay.

Tiny, dirty and unkept
It would have been important for us to know that we were staying in a lower lever property beneath a party of 12+ guests that threw an actual party our first night! Also, our garages were attached. And since the upstairs guests car was too long to close their garage door, our car and property was exposed. Since (quarter-operated!) laundry is in the garage, we didn’t feel safe using it, or leaving our clothes in the washer/dryer. Overall, not a great experience. The proximity to the beach is the only thing this property has going fornit.

It was fine
The location is wonderful, but, overall, our stay was mediocre. There was construction being done to the home during the day, which we were never told about and it was pretty loud. We were told prior to reserving that there would be a driveway to park in as our car is too big for the garage, but there was no driveway. When we called about this, they said they’d get back to us and never did. The floors were pretty filthy and the beds were near-breaking. There’s no a/c. If I were to do it again, I would spend my money elsewhere.

Overpriced - underwhelmed
For as much money as we paid: broken kitchen cabinets, uncomfortable squeeky bedding, sand on floors on arrival, pots and pans with no lids, chipped plates and china, mismatched light bulbs throughout (not our concern - looks tacky though), and we knew the washer-dryer were in the garage- BUT you need to put in quarters!! WHAT? Pictures are misleading.

Electrical didn’t work in 2 of the rooms. Garbage disposal still had food in it. It reeked.
If they would fix the electrical and clean a little bit better i would maybe rent it again. Called the company and they said they would call back. Haven’t heard from them. Have used VRBO many times. This was by the far the worst.

Very clean and close to the beach.
Enjoyed our stay. San Diego was beautiful, lots to see and do. Loved being so close to the beach. Only thing I would recommend is beach towels for the guests so people who are flying there do not have to pack them. Also the iron was not working. Not a big deal but would have been nice to be able to iron a shirt for a nice dinner out.

Nice place with great location
Stayed here with my family for a week and it worked great. The unit is located on a "street" that is really just a sidewalk, so it is very quiet out front. The garage parking in the rear is excellent -- and you need an off street parking space in this neighborhood. Most of the nearby units are short term rentals and there were plenty of parties going on on St Patrick's day, but we never had a problem with noise. We're early to bed people and were never bothered. The 3 bed setup worked well for our family of 4. The beds were OK -- firm but really creaky. I guess my only complaint was there weren't enough spoons in the kitchen! Would definitely stay here again.

Perfect beach house
Location is perfect, a few steps away from the beach. Nothing fancy about the house but perfect for a few friends to crash in after days at the beach. Location is great access to restaurants and different neighborhoods. Cheap cab downtown and too the airport.

I felt dirty
The location was great, very close to the beach. However the apartment was filthy! The floor felt greasy when I walked on it barefoot. The inside of the bed was sandy and a little moist. This place really needs a good scrubbing and a coat of paint.

Perfect location!
We had a great time at this adorable home! It was the perfect location and perfect for 6 people. My only negative about the place is that the fans werent very high quality and so it was VERY hot in the house. But we also came on an especially hot weekend. Other than that all of the appliances were great and we had a great time! Would definitely reserve it again!

Wonderful!
Cute, clean and perfect for our needs. My husband and I and another couple and their teenagers stayed here for three nights. The house was just steps from the beach, clean and comfortable. The first night we arrived the guys found that the grill was not working properly so we called Ana the property manager. She sent her handyman over to take a look and he agreed that the grill was due to be replaced. It was getting late so we didn't expect anything that first night. The next day after we had been at the beach we came home to find a brand new grill on the porch! We met Ana as she was preparing another one of the units. She was very sweet and apologized for the non working grill. We did a little cooking while we were there and I would suggest maybe adding another medium size skillet to the cookware cabinet. Be prepared to go grocery shopping but check the cabinets first as others may have left behind staples like salt & pepper and cooking oil. Keep in mind that this is vacation rental and that other people around you may not be courteous and quiet with their partying. Overall we enjoyed our stay and will definitely return!

Perfect distance from the beach, very clean upon arrival and perfect for 6 people
I went with 5 of my friends for our college spring break and Mike's Place was the perfect get away. It was steps from the beach and a quick drive from Pacific Beach. It provided us with a comfortable living space for 3 nights. The only unfortunate things were that only 1 parking spot was provided and the wifi didn't work anywhere in the house except on of the bedrooms. I would definitely recommend this place to people who just want a small place that is close to the beach.

Love the walk to either beach. Nice patio, some noisy neighbors. Not enough towel racks and/or hooks and had to call for large pot-only 1 saucepan provided. Good hot water. Garage was a plus. Comfortable beds and clean. Very basic TV service and wifi. We did enjoy our stay and proximity to everything and would like to see better cooking supplies. Chairs moving on tile floor upstairs were noisey
