“Very comfortable and friendly.”

The hotel is across the street from the beach. The beach really isn't accessible from the hotel, but the view is worth it. You can drive up the road about a half a mile to a beach access area. That area though is very rocky, not a "white sand" type of beach. The hotel however is very nice, very convienent to roads, resteraunts, and shopping. We only had one small problem with an iron leaking and ruining a picture of ours. The hotel made it right and treated us to breakfast at their buffet. My kids really loved the buffet. Everyone at this place seemed to go out of their way to make our stay more comfortable.

“LOVED this place!!”

We spent an awesome week at the HGI in Carlsbad and loved it. From the moment we checked in to when we left, I seriously didn't run into one single staff member that wasn't friendly. Everyone was helpful, outgoing, friendly, and made our stay so relaxing and fun. We have 3 kids (6,3,and 2 months), and they loved the free stuffed animals left on our beds, the complimentary ice pops and cookies every day, the nighttime kids movies on the lawn with free popcorn. My husband and I enjoyed the beautiful ocean view - rm 305. The only negative part that I can say was that it is a busier street in front of the hotel. Free internet-big bonus. Breakfast buffet was super-our 3 yr old ate free (kids under 4 are free for breakfast). It was eggs, omelets, waffles, pancakes, cinnamon buns, cooked to order. Fantastic! The chefs were so nice-they even poured my son's pancakes into the shape of Mickey Mouse, and my other son's into a fish! And the best thing was the chef did this with such a smile on his face. Front desk was great-provided advice, smiles, even offered hubby a sliced lime for his beer that we had bought somewhere else. Bellman was beyond helpful. I have never written a review before, but this place had great service! And it was all the positive reviews on here and other sites that made us try this place out. So glad we did. WAY better service than some of the 4 and 5-star places we have stayed at before (think Coronado...). We are so happy we went here and we will be back!

“Hilton staff was awesome”

The staff at the Hilton Garden Inn were extremly friendly and helpful. The buffet is good and lots to choose from. The cheff was wonderful. It was a nice place to stay. The pool was a perfect degree. The only thing I would have like better was the walk to the beach, that is across the street. It's a rocky beach and is not easy to get down to. The cliff is a little steep and we had to climb to get there. But not alot of people there so it was nice to walk on once we figured out how to get to it.

“Great with famililes”

We went for a weekend trip with two families- Sea World and Legoland - and LOVED the hotel - food was good, pool is great -- rooms are nice and clean. Love it!

“Great vacation spot”

The staff in this hotel did everything they possibly could to make our vacation enjoyable. They really catered to our children with little extras that made all the difference in the world for them and made them feel special. We would absolutely stay here again.

“Excellent choice for families on vacation.”

This hotel is very conviently located. It is right next to the beach and I-5 and highway 101. It is very clean and family friendly. The hotel people are very nice and service is great. the only issue I have is that the daily room rate especially in a vacation package should include free break fast for family of four. That would have been perfect. Otherwise, this is a great hotel and place to stay when vacationing in San Diego and I will definitely go back!

“Very Friendly Staff”

I have two little boys and every staff member that we encountered was friendly and nice to our boys. The front desk gave them each a stuffed animal and there are cookies in the afternoon. I called the front desk probably 5 times to ask about different places to eat, grocery stores etc and each time they were helpful and nice. Would definetly go back. The city was doing some contstuction on the beach directly across the street so that made access to the beach a little difficult but hopefully the construction will be complete soon.

“Carlsbad”

The hotel itself is right across from the ocean. Its location was near a premium outlet mall which was wonderful for me. I loved the shopping.
