“Nice place”

Great location, contemporary design, and clean. I was pleasantly surprised, especially after reading some of the bad reviews. It was a tiny bit noisy and I did stay during midweek so the noise complaints might make sense.

“Very good”

The safe box got broken every day during my stay, you may want to improve that.

“Great Place!”

We had an enjoyable experience at this hotel. Great area, in Little Italy, within walking distance of everything in downtown San Diego. Friendly front desk staff, great rooftop view of the water and downtown lights. Did not eat at the hotel restaurant, but it has a great view. The only con of the room was that the mini fridge was broken; we did not notice this until our last night. Overall good choice and great location.

“Funky & Fun”

Everyone was pleasantly friendly from valet, check in, and restaurant. The hotel has a cheeky vibe and was fun for a weekend stay. Great menu of mixed cocktails in the bar/restuarant. Beds were very comfortable and the location was perfect for surrounding visiting the surrounding areas (Little Italy/Gaslamp). I would definetely stay there again!

“Clean, updated older hotel in great location - will stay here again!”

Updated older hotel in very good shape. Clean room with firm mattress (important for my wife's bad back). On site restaurant is very good with beautiful view of harbour. Great location in Little Italy - plenty of wonderful Italian bistros- even a very good Irish pub close by. We walked to everything- Convention Ctr, Gas Lamp quarter, Maritime Museam, Seaport Vilage, harbor, etc. We will stay here again.

“Fun Weekend Getaway!”

My husband and I went away for a night and were quite pleased with the Porto Vista Hotel. We checked in late - around 11 pm, and the staff happily greeted us. The hotel was just a short cab ride away from the downtown nightlife, which we enjoyed. The included breakfast was amazing, and their restaurant, The Glass Door, had a lovely view of Little Italy. We were also happy to find a great farmer's market within walking distance. I believe they are open only on Saturdays. My only complaint was that the bathroom door did not close all the way, which is why I rated the comfort of the room at a 4. Overall, this was a great hotel that I would recommend to anyone!

“Clean well kept hotel”

Hotel was very clean and well kept. Our room was quiet and the hotel staff was very professional. There was always fresh coffee in the lobby area. The hotel was only one block from Little Italy, where there are many Italian restaurants. We would stay there again. John and Sue

“We won't hesitate to book again”

We stayed at the Porto Vista Hotel in San Diego in Little Italy April 24th through the 26th. We had a very nice room with a view of the city. We had requested the highest floor with a balcony ocean view, king, non-smoking. The ocean view rooms only had 2 queen beds but we had a city view which was fine on the 5th floor. The hotel was in very nice shape with pretty furniture and bedding and a very roomy bathroom. It was nice to have Bath & Body Works shampoo, cond and lotion to use as well as nice, soft towels. The bed was also very comfortable. We did not make use of the restaurant that was on the 4th floor but it was very busy every time we went down the elevator. The front desk personnel were very friendly and greeting us coming and going! Over all we enjoyed our stay and won't hesitate to stay at this hotel again. Within walking distance of the ocean and the Midway. We had a street art show the entire weekend right next to us which we also enjoyed. I was also glad for the A/C. One hotel I almost booked did not have one. We needed it. Make sure you go on the trolleys to Old Town...we don't have Trolleys in Ft. Worth so that was a hoot. Very nice not needing a designated driver :) and cheap transportation. We rode them everywhere. We have to come back next year to see the zoo...we just did not have enough time to see and do all.
