Awesome stay

Upon check in room was extremely dirty. Property manager made things right. Bed in room was very squeaky and is definitely uneven. Upon booking it seemed based off of pictures there is a patio connected to the room, there is not. I will be staying elsewhere next time. Location is awesome

AWESOME location!
We enjoyed kicking our feet up on the deck next to the boardwalk, watching the ocean and the people, and the super easy access to PB and Mission eateries and activities! This older studio unit shows its age in some places, and was overall comfortable, quaint, and cheery. Excellent comfy bed, and stocked kitchen essentials. Pleasant surprises like beach chairs and extra work table. Owner/manager Brant was delightful and very thoughtfully accomodating. Will stay here again!

Nice studio for two. Nice biking and walking areas. Proximity to the beach was perfect. Water temp was 58○F but nice to look at. Homeless people everywhere unfortunately. No easy answers. We felt pretty safe during the day. Thanks Brent for allowing us to stay with you. Cheers Steve and Pauline.

Not just a “would” stay here again…but a “will be” staying here again!
This little studio is perfect for two adults wanting to explore mission beach! It’s an older home but you can really tell they keep up the grounds and are happy to provide the best experience for their guests. I felt safe and comfortable sitting by myself on the front porch near on the board walk and enjoyed the full kitchen on the nights where we had so many leftovers from all the amazing eateries within a small 3 block distance! Thank you Brant for the amazing stay!

We stayed here while visiting the UCSD campus. The location was great as we were able to get to both La Jolla and various San Diego neighborhoods easily, plus the beach is right outside the gate. The bed was comfy and we were able to keep the windows open at all times for fresh air and to hear the waves. The only downside to this is that street traffic was loud in the evenings and the machinery moving sand on the beach was incredibly noisy and started before sunrise. The unit is pretty worn and there was a huge hairball on the edge of the bathtub and someone else’s trash in the bathroom, but the studio worked great for our needs.

Smack Dab In The Middle of Fun
Loved the location. Half mile walk to Belmont Amusement Park which is packed with entertainment for young and old. Rent a bike and ride the boardwalk up to Pacific Beach for more experiences. Not to mention the beautiful ocean access where you can stroll, see dolphins, and watch the sunset.

Amazing Location
Literally steps from the beach. Great location. On site parking. Had a great weekend for my daughters early birthday celebration. Perfect size for 2 people. Lock on door didn’t always work to leave, but felt very secure in location.

Wonderful Place
My husband and I had a quick stay-cation here. Cute little studio, perfect for two. Exactly as described in the listing. Beach access and the private patio right on the boardwalk were all really charming. Walked down the boardwalk for tacos and some shopping and strolled back several times. Had a great time. Will definitely stay again.

Amazing location!
This spot is literally 10 feet away from the beach! Enjoy a nice walk on the boardwalk in either direction and find a surplus of shops and restaurants! A very short drive (15-20 min) to downtown, old town, north park or La Jolla! Would definitely stay here again. The lock is a bit finicky at first but once you understand how it works it’s a breeze to get in and out!

My husband & I stayed here and it was perfect. Right on the boardwalk. Patio is shared, but lots of space and we were always the only ones there. Nothing fancy on the inside, but clean with everything you need. Host was responsive when we had a TV issue and it was resolved right away.

Delightful studio
The property was exactly as described. The location perfect. Now to be here on a ridiculously stormy cold couple of days. Only thing I would suggest, and this really have to do with really bizarre weather that I experienced, is that the tiny heater was not really sufficient. Otherwise the place was lovely, not fancy but comfortable and clean and after my rainy cold Mermaid Run on Saturday, the hot shower was perfect. I’d definitely return!

The right spot
The property is exactly as listed. The location is perfect. In the heart of everything Mission beach but far enough down the boardwalk to not feel like you’re crowded. . It was clean and actually much bigger than I thought looking at the pictures. Kitchen is spacious and had everything we need as well as a full bathroom and a lot of room where the bed is. The access to the ocean front patio Was the biggest selling point for me. I will definitely stay here again.

Felt like my wife and I were in a hostel. The inside of the apartment is very very old and there are stains on the floor everywhere including rust on top of the fridge. There were plastic signs all over the walls making the place look very tacky. The bed is very small for two adults. On top of all of that, we asked for a little bit of a later check out and the host was not even accommodating that. The location was nice but you can’t see the beach and the back patio is shared and we had the neighbors use it the whole time we were there so we couldn’t even get that. Terrible stay overall and wouldn’t recommend. Unless you are okay with a hostel like stay. I communicated my disappointment with Brant and received no response. I do not recommend. Rather spend $100 more and you’ll get something way better

Perfect Beach Location
This was the perfect place for my new husband and myself to stay for our honeymoon. We enjoyed being able to cook a lot of our own meals, sitting on the patio, and watching movies at night. We'd start here again for sure.

After we booked the description was updated showing there were no views and the patio was part of another separate building. We may not have booked this if we knew that in advance

We enjoyed ourselves for the night at this studio, definitely would book again. Parking was easy which is great, the studio is on the second floor (so keep that in mind for packing etc.) We’re a family of 3, myself, my husband and a 4yo toddler. The bed didn’t seem like a queen but we all fit, nice and snug. The owner included a cot which was great, I ended up moving to the cot and it was pretty comfortable. Love that there was a little kitchen, even though we didn’t cook. The bathroom is a bit small but worked for the night. The owner included, a boogie board, beach chairs and umbrellas. It was within walking discount to the boardwalk which was awesome! Steps away from the beach. The owner communicate very well on how to access parking, and opening the doors. Only thing I didn’t catch was that the patio facing the beach was a shared patio. Dave and Abby (his dog) were super friendly and hanging out on the patio which was just a bit of a shock to us only cause we didn’t realize it was shared. He was super friendly and allowed us to have it to ourselves when we arrived. Overall great place, cozy is how I’d describe it (could be a bit upgraded). I also wish there was a couch instead of patio chairs inside, it definitely could fit! I would book again but couldn’t do more than a weekend, a bit too small for longer stays!

The beach house has a great location with some small convenience stores if you need anything and it’s all walking distance. The things that we found disappointing was the lack of care to the property. The floors were worn out and with many stains. The roof above the shower was leaking so when we showered we were getting cold drips of water from above. There was plenty of coffee but no coffee filters or creamer. The light outside the property kept flickering on and off. The apartment felt a bit plain and dirty and the front door to get in was kinda tricky having to hold it in the right spot for it to work. We liked the apt and would visit again if things were to improve. It just didn’t seem worth it for the price.

Beware of neighbors.
Lovely location and accurate description of property. However, I was accosted by someone's dog (he said he was the owner of the property). I came into the fenced in yard and a big dog (over 100 pounds), put his nose in my food. The dog was unattended. As I called out for help. Some guy who appeared to be stuck in the 60s comes out and is like "relax man"....needless to say I contacted the "property contact" and got no response. I would have given this place a 4 if not for the dog incident and the lack of contact/unresponsiveness of owner

Very Clean but dated - Awesome value for location.
Very good 4 night stay, quiet, very nice dog Abby guards the grounds. Tv is limited and WiFi needs upgrade. Location to beach is 50 feet from your door which was great! Shops eateries are about a 10 min walk which is perfect.

There could have been more towels to take a shower some rugs beside the bed so you don't put sand in the bed and he needs to get a new barbecue but other than that we had a really great stay thanks again if there's any specials running up next summer on the house we would be interested

A Weekend Steps from the Ocean...
The proximity of the property to the boardwalk, beach and ocean is totally fabulous. The studio itself, in my opinion however, leaves much to be desired. It is in dire need of updating and repair. Additionally, you couldn't walk on the floors barefooted as they were dirty. There were no comfortable chairs to sit on, the pillows on the bed were lumpy and the flange which covers the shower head was no longer attached to the wall and was just hanging. You also had no hand towels, only bath towels and wash "rags," (they weren't rags at all, but that's the term I grew up with.) Yes, we had a wonderful time, even though the studio was a disappointment.

The studio must have been particularly sandy during the last cleaning. We do have a "foot wash" station outside the front door. But this not enough sometimes to clear all the sand that comes into the unit. We are fixing the hand towel issue. /Brant

JFYI for everyone ... The studio is on the second floor. And no one can see in from below. The other windows do have coverings, but these are more for light so that people can sleep in a darkened room.

Location, location, location!
This cozy, colorful studio condo exceeded my expectations. There are not views of the ocean from the condo (as the description does state), but you’re just steps from Mission Beach with a shared boardwalk outdoor patio, making it perfect for dolphin watching on the patio, morning walks with the pup, afternoon swims and evening cocktails to watch the sunset. The owner lives close and was very responsive to all our needs. He truly wants to make sure you enjoy your stay. I’ll definitely be back!
