Well situated

Posted Jun 27, 2015
Pros: The decor was very nice and the room was quiet even though it was on a main road. It was well situated for shops, resturants and theaters.
Cons: Provide internet and get the lifts repaired.
Location: All the main dept stores, theaters and resturants
But for the money we paid we got no internet, not even in the lobby, no breakfast or any other extras. Plus only one lift was working so you had to be fit or wait a long time for the very small lift. If you waited it was usually full with the cleaner or porter with bags!! The staff we young and friendly when they werern't chatting to each other.

Decent but not great.

Posted Jun 24, 2015
Pros: Proper functioning hotel. Fantastic location.
Cons: The front desk staff on Sunday (06/13) need to be trained to be more courteous.
Location: Right in the heart of the city. Fantastic location.
The front desk staff were courteous. The front desk lady in the mornings of 06/18-06/19 (African American) lady was very helpful and pleasant, but one of the staff in the morning-afternoon of 06/13 was not especially pleasant.

Nice boutique hotel in Union Square

Posted Jun 16, 2015
Very nice hotel close to Union Square and near transport links to other city sights. Free wifi and plenty of perks made it a pleasant stay. Like other Kimpton properties in San Fran, you really can't go wrong.

Gorgeous hotel, but the staff are what make this hotel amazing. They go over and above to ensure you enjoy your stay. Loved it so much we shortened Lake Tahoe leg to come back and stay at Kimpton.

Great location but hotel in need of modernisation

Posted Jun 11, 2015
Pros: Friendly staff
Hotel is very convenient for Union Square, however, if you turn the wrong way out of the hotel you do enter a rougher area around Tenderloin. The hotel staff are very friendly but it is unusual that they do not have their own restaurant or bar. They do offer free drinks at certain times to make up for this but they were never convenient for us and I suspect many others. The gym was well equipped with modern equipment. Overall the rooms were clean but needed modernising and so I wouldn't recommend it.
