This was an amazing stay in a beautiful location in old town. The building is old, but that was the charm. The room was comfortable and breakfast was very good, served on the terrace. Wasn’t too far from the train station. Definitely worth the climb. If you like new & modern, this isn’t for you. If you like charm, beauty, historical areas & close to a beach, I would recommend staying here!

This place is in Old Town Ventimiglia. We were on the third floor and had to climb some very old and steep stairs to get to our room. Once there, it is very charming and the rooftop garden was spectacular. The staff was very helpful carrying our baggage up to the room and back down when we left. They were very helpful throughout our stay and the breakfasts in the garden were exceptional. Getting into the main part of the cuty is a chore, but the quiet and charm of staying in old town is worth it. Especially after we found out there is an elevator available instead of taking thousands of stairs up and down. Overall, I would give La Terrazza dei Pelargoni at 5 stars based on the service and friendliness alone.

Great experience. They were incredibly accommodating when we were running late for check in and were super friendly during our stay. They got to know us and always took our preferences in our breakfast order. Incredibly comfortable and located in the cutest part of town. Free parking just around the corner and restaurants within walking distance.

Fabulous staff and a great breakfast by candlelight prepared by one of the two wonderful staff who helped me. Loved this place in the center of the historic ancient town - wonderful experience!

A delight!
We were actually relocated into the sister establishment, les Olives, but it was fabulous, very helpful staff, and a great room with a cunningly designed en-suite, comfortable bed with lovely quality sheets and pillows. Excellent breakfast,more than we could manage, on a delightful terrace - I wish we had booked for longer!

Arrived at the place and nobody was there to open te door (this was late afternoon). Waited 30minutes and left. An email was sent to me the same day (at least I have received it the same say) saying that I should have contacted the property before arrival. This should have been done days in advance. Property in the old part of the city. You have to walk through stairs and uphill for about 10minutes. Not ideal if you have heavy suitcases.

A real gem in the old town
A real gem in the heart of the old town. The most memorable part is the two beautiful roof top terraces where breakfast is served, surrounded by plants and with lovely views . The B&B is small but clean and nice. Would definetely recommend.

This B n B has the most beautiful view from the balcony, breakfast is served there, it is a breakfast you will remember for a long time. Stefan the young man from Moldova was so helpful, and I believe that he does a lot of the cooking for the breakfast including baking cakes. There is car parking available a short distance from the property, we did have a little trouble parking initially whilst trying to find the property, if you drive up the street which the property is in you continue on about 400mteters and there is a two level car park. Overall a very enjoyable experience, lovely people.

The most charming, magical, authentic place we have ever stayed. The rooms were good size clean and cool with the a/c. The breakfast we will never forget - spoilt with home cooked Creme caramel, cakes, croissants and eggs. We will return one day. Xx

Pretty italian b&b stay!
Our stay in Ventimiglia was 2 nights, location was very cool, its about 10mins far from center of Ventimiglia, but the atmosphere of streets and kind local people was pretty good. There is totally more sights in near of this hotels area than in center. We went running at the highs of valley and there was great views also. Staying in this hotel was pretty good, i totally recommend if youre travelling with you loved one, unique place to stay and atmospheric of breakfast was truly romantic at least i was travelling with my friend, not so close one. 😅 Service was good and i totally recommend this places location, streets was so beautiful!

After climbing a couple of flights of stairs, we were greeted by a character filled olde world Air BnB apartment with a nice courtyard. It was very comfortable in a convenient location in the old town. Just a short walk to the market. Plenty of Cafes and restuarants nearby to choose from.

The staff were kind and helpful. We used google translate to clarify anything. The B&B has a great location. Notes: this is located kind of high up on a steep hillside and the B&B is in the third floor with no lift. This was fine for us and kind of fun. There is a great market 2x per week (I think).

A literally over-the-top neighborhood in the antico quarter. Up three flights of stone stairs so not for the unfit! Gracious and helpful Irena and her helper Stefano brought genuine warmth o the experience, even candlelight at breakfast when we were not on one of the patios. Lovely FULL breakfast on white iinen

It was incredible!
This place is amazing! It's located right in the middle of the medieval part of Ventimiglia. To walk there with all my luggage was a challenge, but I do not regret it. I was absolutely thrilled to stay there, I've told all my friends about how fantastic the place was. It was a great adventure for me. The breakfasts were amazing (not for those who are on a diet though!) Thank you, guys!

Neo Classical Breakfast....
This B&B in the centre of the old town is packed with style, largely neo-classical, and with a love of decor, it is a quality experience so far removed from the tedium of hotel chains. The conversion and fittings are well thought about and room and bathroom design, fittings and decor are all very original, The roof terrace with Cactus plants and the snow capped mountains behind are a picture and the candle lit breakfast was a first for me.

This is a private home that was converted; the room was adequate and breakfast included. It is 3rd or 4th floor with high steps, no elevator in the old town. Romantic seclusion, but inaccessible. Perfect bed and breakfast!
We absolutely loved this bed and breakfast and would encourage anyone who likes somewhere with a bit of charm and character to stay here. Although a 15 minute walk from the station (and up a hill) this place is perfectly located in the quieter historical part of the town. The accommodation itself had a real charm about it and we personally thought the furniture and decor were beautiful. The breakfast, although definitely not a typical English one (creme caramel and chocolate brownies!) was absolutely divine - all homemade and the best I have ever tasted! My only suggestion would be that you provide the guests with these delights as an afternoon tea option and stick to something more traditional for breakfast. Thank you to your host for a very lovely stay.

Best hotel I've ever stayed at.
This place was the best deal I've ever gotten from a hotel and I've stayed in about 20 in the past two months as I travel Europe. It's possible I was upgraded to a larger room? I paid a regular budget hotel price and what I got was a huge, multi bedroom apartment that was furnished with Antiques and paintings...a complete living room....two king sized beds. There were old wooden shutters on the three windows that opened to show the tops of neighboring houses and a view of the ocean. Breakfast was on a private terrace/balcony with a panoramic view of the mountains and ocean and was free. I think this was probably the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in. The staff was friendly and helpful. The neighborhood is old fashioned Italian like you visualize when reading a novel. The only tiny problem I had was like many other hotels in Italy, it was hard to find. This hotel especially blends in to the surroundings, so I would recommend arriving early and giving yourself 30 minutes to find the hotel and staff. When you do find the building, the office is top floor on the right. I can't say enough about the hotel, staff, neighborhood, breakfast. I'm on a tour of Italy and this place is one I will never forget.

Brief stay but a lovely one
I had a single night stopover in Ventimiglia and was lucky enough to stay here. The bed was so comfortable, and the room was so nice. The hotel is in a very old house with so much character and history. There is an amazing view from the garden in the back that overlooks everything. It is situated quite high up on the cliff so don't try to walk therefrom the train station like I did. You will get lost Haha. The gentleman who checked me in spoke little English but that didn't matter. We were able to communicate just fine and he was very kind and helpful. Also he made abeautiful and delicious breakfast before I caught the train the next morning. Hope I can go back and visit again this summer, it's a beautiful city!

A beautifully decorated, classy apartment run by 2 cultured gents. My first ever candle lit breakfast too! Located in the Old Town so very quiet, and you can park your car for free just a minute up the road. The town itself is average, but as a sightseeing hub it is ideal.

After reading a few reviews regarding location I booked at a beachside hotel in Ventimiglia. I was intrigued by the old town "alta" area so I decided to book here at La Terrazza. My only regret was not booking here to begin with. The area is on a mountain side & does require an uphill walk to the b&b but it's not that difficult. & yes you have to climb stairs. It's worth it. The owner is great, staff was international & friendly, room was great, bedding was above average and the breakfast was excellent. Stay here! Taxis take you for 10euro. If walking pick a pathway and go up til you hit the "main street" at the top. There is no danger in this area besides falling in love with it. Clean, safe & a great experience. History alive!
We stay in the hotel house of La Terrazza dei Pelargoni B&B, located in vico Olivi, close to the church, in the historic area of Ventimiglia. It is a complete experience! You feel translated to another time, three or four centuries ago! There are some difficulties, inevitably related to the ancient design of the house and of the area (you have to go through around 100 meters of small narrow pedestrian streets and there is not elevator at the house, so carrying big suitcases along those narrow stairs is a problem), but in general the experience is worthwhile. Igor, who received us, was very helpful. We stayed only one night, but think two would have been better. When taking the breakfast in that beautiful dining room, we felt like in a XVII century banquet. Good experience.

Much too steep a climb!
There was no cover sheet on the bed. There was also no mattress on the box spring. There was no hotel clerk to call for assistance and we did need assistance, to no avail. There were no american TV channels. We would not stay in this hotel again. The walk up to the room from the station was too difficult for older people. The preview should mention that a cab, at 10 Euros, is required.

After waiting an hour for the owner of the B&B to come get us (not completely his fault; he had the home phone number rather than our cell), the B & B isn't at the address that is listed. It is a block away on a narrow pedestrian street (that you would never find without help). The room was more than we expected; a full suite with kitchen, living area and bedroom, all newly renovated. Although charming, it was also cave like which was difficult for a tall husband. There were very few places that he could stand up straight. Breakfast was delicious. I would definitely recommend as long as you knew ahead of time the height restrictions.

I certainly would not stay in this hotel again. It is misrepresented on the website. The price for the room far exceeds the value. The walk from teh station is long and arduous; taxis refused to take me to the hotel.

Unusual but cool
Very cool building in the medieval part of town. The amenities are modern. Very clean. Breakfast is nice. However, to be clear, this is not your ordinary hotel. It is a remodeled military tower! If climbing lots of stairs is a problem, it's not for you. The staff is extremely nice and accommodating. Very special experience! We felt privileged to be able to stay at a historical place without sacrificing modernity we got accustomed to.

Thi is a lovely b and b up high on a hill. It is right next to an old church with a reclining Jesus.. very different. The streets are narrow and with maps on the iphone/ ipad was able to negotiate where the smaller pedestrian steps were to find the lodgings and to explore the town.

A bit quirky. Place needs sprucing up, but nice view from window of village and sea. This is not a place for those unable to hike up a hill and then three steep floors to reach the room. Breakfast was delightful and tasty. Claudio prepares the meal and is on hand for anything you might need. Perhaps too much so; he doesn't leave the room and hovers while guests dine. A bit uncomfortable, but maybe a cultural gesture from his native India.

Nice Hotel
The rooms are really beautiful and comfortable. The bathroom was large and upgraded. The breakfast was very nice. It is a little on the sweet side but will definitely fill you up. The hotel is a little bit of and uphill walk. If you have difficulty climbing stairs this may not be the hotel for you. We really liked the hotel, the decor and the rooftop terrace.

Very nice place
This was a very nice experience: great room, clean, comfortable, wonderful breakfast on the terrace. Only problem was the inability of the staff member to speak English (or French) upon our arrival. The following morning, another staff member served breakfast, spoke English, and kindly called us a taxi to the train station (far down the hill in the new town). The old town of Ventimiglia is wonderful to stroll around in; two restaurants just down the hill a bit when you leave the building and turn right. Strongly recommend, especially if you want to stay in a place with local character and history.
