Be a part of the historyPosted Apr 5, 2014
Location: Walk Canyon Road. Lunch at El Farro. Drink margaritas at the Dragon Room Lounge. Eat chili chocolates at CJ Higgins on Lincoln Ave
"What a great location and a thrill to stay in a place that is part of the Santa Fe history. The refit of hotel is tasteful. Everything modern, but kept the feel and art of the old hotel. Didn't eat at hotel, but had a margarita at the bar. Not nearly as good as the margarita at the Dragon Room Lounge on the Old Santa Fe Trail. Did the walking tour from desk, was really worthwhile. Thank you Alan, your commentary and stories made the town come alive.

Fabulous historic hotel next to plaza.Posted Apr 1, 2014
Pros: I liked the ambiance of the hotel, the comfort, the food and the location.
Cons: When we entered our room we always had the smell of a fire. At times it was nice but at times it was irritating.
Location: I loved going through all the shops in and around the hotel. St Francis Basilica and the Loretto Chapel were within a block.
Thought the history of the hotel was great. Loved peeking through all the nooks and crannies. Hotel restaurant served some awesome food. Loved all the little shops on the first floor. Our room was large, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. We even lit a fire one night in our room. All the staff were pleasant and helpful. When we left we discovered we had a flat tire in the parking garage. Someone came out immediately with an air compressor and filled it up and gave us directions to a place where it could be fixed. Hats off to all of you.

Great hotel! Excellent locationPosted Mar 31, 2014
Pros: Large room, friendly staff, and great location.
Our family stayed at La Fonda for four nights (Thursday-Sunday). It is a great location - close to the plaza and to Canyon Road. The room was very clean, the staff was wonderful, and the facilities were just as we had hoped. We would definitely recommend La Fonda.

Super location close to everythingPosted Mar 11, 2014
Pros: Great location, great room, friendly staff, good restaurant
We decided to upgrade to a La Terrazza room - it was huge, very nicely appointed, and had a wide terrace (shared with 4 other rooms, plus access to a huge terrace / hot tub area, included a full breakfast each day, and had a concierge stationed on our floor. We had a short walk (2 blocks) to Canyon Road art galleries, right across the street from the Cathedral and Plaza, and close to many great restaurants (the hotel restaurant was fantastic!!)- no need for a car!! It snowed overnight the second night we were there and we got to sit out in the hot tub in the morning while it was snowing - what a treat!! Definitely would stay there again.!!

Best hotel in Santa Fe.Posted Mar 1, 2014
We loved the history of the hotel, the numerous original artworks through the hotel, including in our room. The decor of the dining room/restaurant is stunning and the food was excellent. Throughly recommend it - in fact we have been raving about how unique our stay was to all our friends.
