Not what the pictures showed
Property is not in a good neighborhood. Property does not look anything like the picture inside or out. One room they’re calling a bedroom does not have air or heat. The sofa sleeper was horrible. The pool area was not nice like in the pictures. all furniture was either dirty or broken. The washing machine was so loud we could not hear each other talk. The house is Close to airport so you have a lot of airplanes flying low coming in. We were down for a wedding and just overall was not what we were expecting. Very disappointed

George- I am so sorry that you were disappointed in your stay. That is VERY unusual for my property. The pictures posted are EXACTLY what the house looks like. I have pictures of every room and even a floor plan. I apologize that the renters that checked out the day before you broke one of the pool lounge chairs and it could not be replaced in 12 hours. However, within one week now ALL the pool lounge chairs have been replaced. I always fix things right away when I know about them and my other reviews show that. The sleeper sofa is less than one year old and has an upgraded mattress.. I understand that it might not be as cozy as the other beds that all have cooling gel foam mattresses but it is a sleeper sofa so... The pictures and description do show that the bonus/4th room is at the entrance and not a typical bedroom but it DOES have heat and air. I am very sorry that you were disappointed in your stay. That is not the typical experience at my property.

Buckeye Beachhouse
The buckeye beach house was perfect for our family vacation! It was so well equipped with everything we needed from cooking utensils to the folding wagon and beach chairs and toys. The pool was wonderful as well. The beds were comfortable! ❤️

Family Trip
The house is a super cute older home in a quiet neighborhood. We came down to spend Thanksgiving with family in Florida and had a blast. The kids loved the pool. I definitely recommend asking for it to be heated if you are staying in winter months. It was close to pretty much everything we needed (Target/Starbucks/Publix) and only a quick drive to Siesta Key beach. The host Victoria is awesome and responded quickly. We had 9 people. One couple in the flamingo room, one in the master, a teen on the futon, a teen on the couch bed, and 3 kids in the bunk bed room. Couch bed was easy to set up and tear down each day. Decor was really cute all over and the patio is gorgeous at night. Only downside for us was the flamingo bed felt more like a double than a queen and the bathrooms do not have vents, but they do have windows. All in all it was a wonderful experience and we will definitely visit again.

The property really was cutely decorated. It appears to be an older property that had recent renovations. The interior was clean The pool area is very dated and needed repairs and cleaning. A rail is needed for entering and exiting the water. The number of occupants is over stated. The futon is good for only one child up to an age of 8. It should be advertised a maximum of 10 people with 2 being children.

Great place for vacation
The house was very clean and well stocked. Beach towels, beach chairs and umbrellas were all there along with a wagon to carry it all on the beach! They thought of everything. Everyone enjoyed the pool and outdoor living area. We used all the rooms and the pull out couch and all were very comfortable. Having 3 bathrooms with teenagers was great and we loved having the washer and dryer. We will definately be back !

Great getaway for family and friends
We had a great time at this house! The kids loved the pool, adults loved the outdoor living areas, and three bathrooms is a definite winner with a large group! The house was cute, clean and had everything we needed. The neighborhood was quiet and close to everything. The kitchen is well stocked and it even had beach chairs, beach umbrella and beach wagon. We will go back !

Quaint little place but HOT
House was ok but not what we are used to. It was clean but HOT. After even a COLD shower we weren’t able to get ready in the bathrooms ( no air vents in there) where the mirrors are. Too hot. All anyone wants is to be clean and to be cool after a day in the hot Florida. House never did cool down enough to get comfortable. Burned up at night Burned up in the daytime. Manager acted concerned sent someone out but he said there was basically nothing he could do. I asked him if his house was 78 degrees he said no. But just shrugged it off. So we burned up the whole trip. The coolest the house got was 74 during the night. I would not recommend this home unless the AC is replaced.

Perfect spot

Great disappointment
The advertised pictures did not accurately reflect the house as the house was dirty, furniture was cheap and uncomfortable, the window and door frames were rusty, the nice TVs were not subscribed so nothing to watch, the fence was down and trash piled in the yard, the shelves in the frig were rusted, beds were uncomfortable.

The house was so cute and super clean. The kitchen is well stocked and there is everything you need for beach or pool. The whole family loved the pool and outdoor living space. We loved the Blackstone grill and want to get one now! We loved having three full baths. It is a great location , close to stores, restaurants and about 6 or 7 miles from the beach. I read a previous review and wasn’t sure what to expect of the neighborhood . The neighborhood is older but very peaceful. We will definitely be coming back !

First, the positives: There were no bugs We had a place to crash Told the owner we we missing extra toilet paper & paper towels, coffee maker didn’t work & there were hairs all over the wall & shower. She responded very quickly & had supplies sent. A+ for communication & action. I had already cleaned up the hairs & told the owner that sending the cleaning crew wasn’t necessary. She ignored my message & sent them anyway. That didn’t make my family that stayed back at the property feel very comfortable or safe. Cobwebs in the greenery above the sink in kitchen. Not appetizing. Definitely will not sleep 11, I’d say 8 or 9 at the most but not comfortably. Also in the description of the property, it states there is a brand new grill. This is absolutely untrue; grill wasn’t up kept & it stopped working mid grill, temperature steadily dropped as we were cooking. Gas was empty & there wasn’t an extra tank to replace. We were leaving the next day & did not complain. Refrigerator was duct taped together on bottom with stains below. Not really functional. Did not complain but needs to be replaced. Owner blamed other problems on “The Holidays”…

I am very shocked to see this. So sorry you did not enjoy your stay. I have never had complaints like this. The cleaning crew always leaves two rolls of toilet paper in each of the three bathrooms and a full roll of paper towels in the kitchen. Nonetheless when I was told that the renters were not satisfied with the amount of supplies I sent a full case of toilet paper and a full case of paper towels to the house and also had a brand new coffee maker delivered the same day even though in addition to the coffee maker that I had no idea was not working there is a Keurig that was in perfect condition. I sent the cleaning crew over immediately because I have never ever had a complaint about the cleanliness of the house and was completely shocked. As the renter later said oh it wasn’t necessary it was too late is the cleaning crew was already on their way. The House sleeves exactly what it says it will sleep in the description. There is a complete description of every room, pictures of every room and a floor layout depicting exactly how many beds and what type of birds are in every room. I am so sorry you were not satisfied.

Description of the house is a bit inaccurate. The house definitely needs TLC in the outside and also in the inside. House was dirty it but it has that false illusion as being clean. Main room the wall close to the closet with mirror doors had bugers stucked to it. The main door has lots of black spots on it that could easily be cleaned off the mat on the outside had wear and tear it was even moldy. It is very disappointing for the house to have this first impression because you can already know what it will be from the inside. The neighborhood I can understand the owner of this house has no control over it but not so great of a neighborhood lots of houses around the neighborhood are not taken care of so it gives a bad impression. The pool area had lots of mold around it. It’s crazy how “extrict” they are when sending a contract but the house is not in good shape. Needs to do better in maintaining this house presentable.

Summer Vacation
We rented the house for my family and my parents. There was a total of 8 of us, ages 17 years and up. We definitely would not have been able to have up to 11 people stay. The house comfortably sleeps 7 adults. Every time I had to text the owner she responded quickly and pleasantly. She addressed any issues immediately. Loved having the pool and being able to swim whenever we wanted. Will definitely look at renting here again if we visit Sarasota again!

In town for funeral. House was as advertised and everything we needed. There was a large section of screen missing from pool cage top which created a mosquito problem day and night when using outdoor area in back. Mattresses were adequate but king & flamingo room pretty hard and not super comfortable. Other than that, it was great. Beautiful bathrooms and decorated nicely. Host was responsive when I reached out with questions.

Long weekend getaway
The host was very responsive before and during our stay. The wifi was great. Beds were comfortable. Towels - both bath and beach - were plentiful. The pool was a lovely place to relax. Everything about the house was perfect. I did not notice air traffic that another review mentioned. The neighborhood may not be the most telegenic and the house may not have the best curb appeal but it was amazing.

Functional but not up to Expectations
We stayed with our 3 kids, 2 nieces, and parents. Calling this a 4 bedroom is misleading as the 4th bedroom/flex space is the ENTRY to the home with a very uncomfortable futon. Our plan was to have our littles sleep there but they wound up in our bedroom as we didn’t feel comfortable having kids sleep in the room with the main access to the home. Encountered several things that could have been better: huge rip in roof of pool screen = lots of bugs, cockroach in bathroom, no extra toilet paper, leaky toilet, trouble with AC settings, rips in sheets, sleeper sofa that should be updated, lack of window coverings in bunk room. The home is updated but could use some attention. The host was responsive but very little resolution while we were still there. Neighborhood is quiet but a little rough around the edges. It served its purpose for this trip but won’t be booking again.

Meghan I am sorry you had a disappointing experience. I really do everything I can in the property information to show the 4th bonus room including pictures of the room and a floor plan which shows every room, where the front door is and what size beds are in each room. It even says in the description that the front door enters into the 4th /bonus room. I am sorry the previous renters pushed the lounge chairs through the pool screen. That was fixed right away and additional pool bars have been added so that the chairs can not be pushed through the screen any more. We have pest control services regularly and in 3 years this is first time I have ever had a bug in the house and I know you said it was dead when you found it. We do leave 2 rolls of toilet paper in each of the 3 bathrooms (6 rolls total). You may need to purchase more for longer stays. We do not have ripped sheets so I am not sure how that could have happened. All the beds are made with fresh sheets and extra sheets are left in each bedroom closet if needed. I am sorry you had some disappointments. it is not usual for my property.

Lovely home needs new sleeper sofa
Overall we were pleased with our stay at the Buckeye beach house. It was clean and there was plenty of space. My only comment would be that AT BEST it sleeps 7 somewhat comfortably. The pull out sofa frame is bent and the mattress is not comfortable at all!! Just terrible. The futon in the front room also is not comfortable. Investing in a better sleeper/sofa would go a long way to make this a better possibility for a larger family or group.

Nice amenities, poor location
The house itself had everything we needed and was well maintained. Owner was also super responsive and helpful. Unfortunately the location is not great. The surrounding neighborhood is poorly maintained and on the verge of blighted. The house is also under the flight path for arrivals at the Sarasota airport so everyday we were awoken by planes at 6 am. Generally took 15-30 minutes to get local destinations.

Lovely Vacation
There were 4 of us staying here with 2 small children. The house itself is wonderful. Exactly as described. Everything you need is there, including stuff for an infant. Beds are comfortable. Bedrooms are great. Nice décor. No complaints at all from that perspective. The neighborhood itself is a little rough around the edges, but it wasn't a problem for us and quite frankly the price reflects that. The screens around the pool need to be replaced as many have holes, but the bugs were never an issue. The pool itself and surrounding area (outside the screen issue) was great. We paid for the heat and it was adjusted immediately on request. The house seemed to be no more than 20 minutes from numerous beaches and restaurants. All in all, a great trip that was significantly cheaper than the other places we were looking at for the same time period.

Great property for family and children
Our experience was great , the rental location just a few miles out of the downtown/beach area. The house layout was open, homey and relaxing. Great atmosphere for children and infants. There were plenty of towels, life jackets and pool toys to keep all occupied. Three full rooms and baths. Bedding in the two bigger bedrooms were very comfortable, the bunk beds on the other hand may be a little squeaky but operable. Communication with the host was superb. Pool area was nice could use a little maintenance on the screened in patio, but overall great place to stay with a lot near by. I see some negatives about the neighborhood, if arriving at night it could make you a little nervous seeing that the area is under lit, but overall we didn’t have any issues and everyone kept to themselves and were respectful of our stay.

Perfect Fit for Our Family
Our stay at Buckeye Beach house was so wonderful! The house is beautifully decorated, furnished, and everything you need is right there! Even enough toilet paper, paper towels, laundry soap, etc to get you through the first couple of days until you can do some shopping. The pool area is lovely and my kiddoes barely got out long enough to eat meals. The master bedroom is a dream and I wanted to bring the bed home with me it was that comfortable. The double shower in the master bath was the envy of the whole house. The beach toys, chairs, and towels were a delightful bonus. Victoria was great to work with, everything was so easy and relaxed, and we would definitely come and stay again!

DISAPPOINTED AND NOT A BEACH HOUSE
The drive into the neighborhood was a bit concerning because we passed boarded up houses. Some of the houses were unkept, neighborhood portable basketball hoop remained in the middle of the street for the entire week. The listing description on the neighborhood needs to be updated, because the golf course is now closed and the restaurants are not that close. This was a family vacation of 5 adults and my cousin was scared to get out of the car when we pulled into the drive. The pictures were a bit deceiving because the sofas are very worn/stained, windows were horribly dirty, bed sizes were inaccurate, smoke detector was hanging from one bedroom and missing from the other, the pool area had algae, the sitting area was dirty with pistachio shells left from previous guests. Pool screened area had several holes, and we were visited by a raccoon frequently, who would climb on the roof in the evening and even got into the garbage one night. Looking for a relaxing vacation, and unfortunately this was not it as we went out daily because we were just not comfortable. With that said the sheets were clean and the owner was responsive when we contacted her. We've now learned to Google map the area before we rent in the future.

Virginia I am very sorry to see this review as it is very different from most of my glowing reviews. I am sorry you were disappointed. The houses that had windows boarded up was because October is hurricane season and that is what people in Florida do in hurricane season. . I am sorry the neighbor has a basketball hoop and children's toys in the front yard . Unfortunately there is nothing I can do about that. The pool cage screen that had just been knocked loose from the hurricane seasonal winds has since been fixed. All the bed sizes are 100% accurate and are listed for each bedroom in the description as well as a floor plan layout that also shows the bed sizes in each room.. Also, the property description lists accurate distances from all local beaches and other key landmarks. Again, i am sorry you were disappointed

Overall our family had a pleasant stay at the Buckeye Beach House. We had 7 adults and one 14 month old. There are a few cons, and/or some details missing that would have enhanced our stay: The garbage disposal got clogged - however, the owner had someone out the very next day to have it fixed. The foyer room has barn doors that separate it from the living room, however they do not fully close so there is some lack of privacy. The family member who had this room didn’t find the futon comfortable so he switched to an air mattress (which we brought). We had to buy our own toilet paper and paper towels. There was no dishrag for the kitchen to hand-wash dishes. The toilet in the bathroom across from the living space clogged easily, but the house has a plunger we used to clear it. We thought the neighborhood was just ok. Pros: very nicely decorated throughout. Everything felt fairly new. We loved the screened in pool and back patio area - it is private, and decorated with string lights and lots of seating, including couches, lounges and chairs. We used the coffee bar every morning. Complimentary K-cups of coffee and tea bags are provided. There are monogrammed comfy bathrobes and towels in all the rooms and bathrooms. The house is great for a family with kids. Plenty of extra beach towels, chairs, and toys! There is a high chair, pack-and-play, and stroller - the former two worked great with our toddler, but we didn’t end up trying the stroller since we brought our own. All communication with the owner was great. Our family felt very comfortable and relaxed here!

The kids loved having a pool to swim in every day. This house was very close to the beaches and within a reasonable drive to Disney and Universal. We had a great time.
