This place is amazing! The views are spectacular. The room was perfect and the grounds are exactly what you’d expect for Tuscany. The owner is on hand at all times and is very friendly and accommodating. Our flight was delayed and we didn’t get in until midnight. He stayed up for us and talked us through the directions there. You do need a car if you’re staying here since there is no public transportation.

The property was beautiful with vistas to match. We found the bed extremely uncomfortable making it difficult to rest at night. The breakfast provided I felt was only adequate. The beauty of the property makes up for the bed

This is the place to stay when visiting the Tuscan Region. Offers stunning view. Property is beautifully landscaped. Rooms are very spacious. Pool was excellent. We will definitely return.

This is an amazing old villa with all the charm in the world. Our host was extremely friendly and helpful. It is clear that he has out a lot of love and effort into his property. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend it to any travelers.

Very charming and rustic property. It's not modernly fancy, but if that is what you are coming to Tuscany for, you are in the wrong place. The owner is very welcoming and helpful too.

Great location
Beautiful view, nice pool, good breakfast. Room was decent size with no view. Bed was a bit hard, shower was small but great water pressure n good towels. You need a car to get to town but nice that property was high up on mountain with a beautiful view. Great location if u want to drive to Siena or Florence both are about 45-60 min away. We enjoyed our stay.

The property was nice with great views of the Tuscan hills and of the town. Breakfast was average, the pool was quite nice, there was no WiFi reception in the rooms. It’s a 40 minute walk into town to get dinner cause they don’t serve any at the villa. So make sure you have a car. San Gimignano is lovely.

Gorgeous location. Alessandro’s expertise shines throughout il Casale del Cotone. The grounds and interior and exterior are kept immaculate. Area and location provide panoramic Tuscan views and close proximity to San Gimignano. Strongly recommend vehicle for convenient transport to nearby points of interest.

Great apartments
This property has two apartments as well as rooms. We hired both apartments for Grandparents and family with a baby. They worked very well for us. Breakfast was provided. It's within view of St Gimignano. There are many restaurants around the area and it's close to wineries and other beautiful towns. The grounds are lovely. It could be improved with nice wine glasses and good tea!

I would give this propert a 4.5 out of 5. The only turn-off was the cost of the dinner. Upon arrival we were offered to stay for dinner the following night. It was positioned as an invitation and were not told that it would cost us $70 euro. Had we known, we would have declined. It’s quite steep for what you can get at restaurants in the immediate area. We had a bit of a shock when we checked out a few days later and were given the dinner bill. We felt it was a bit sly, which is unfortunate given we had such a great time and enjoyed everything while we were there. Otherwise it’s a great location within quick driving distance to Towns and vineyards. The property itself has stunning views and a (cold) refreshing pool. Breakfast is the same basic options you get at any other hotel. Just ask them to disclose the cost of dinner and what it includes before agreeing to such a charming disceptive “invitation “.

We love the country setting of the hotel which is surrounded by vineyards. Swimming pool is great, not many people in this small resort, and the view is fantastic. Breakfast selection is great.

Great Tuscan Farm Stay close to Town
Beautiful property with a great pool in the Tuscan country side. Close to San Gimignano and surrounding towns. Excellent location and property. Would definitely recommend. Only concern was the A\C was not turned on for the season yet and the in house suppers we heard such rave reviews about only happened once/Twice a week which we unfortunately missed. I’m sure both are just a function of the time of year. Great place overall!

Almost perfect.. almost.
A very nice, quiet, comfortable and hospitable place to stay. Everything was fantastic.. almost everything. I highly recommend booking for dinner on the Sunday or Thursday usually (depending on how many guests are staying at the Inn). The only fault I can say is the beds are ok for comfort. This is the only thing I think that needs to be improved, including the pillows. Other than that.... STAY HERE. If my wife and I come to Tuscany, we will be ;)

A real gem at Tuscany
Il Casilo del Catone was a great surprise for me and my wife. This place is located in a very scenic and privileged are in the Tuscan region, and about 2 miles from the gates of San Gimignano. Alessandro is a great host, very attentive, knowledgeable, and made us feel welcomed. We highly recommed Il Casilo.

Wonderful B&B close to San Gimignano
We stayed in this B&B while exploring Tuscany by car. We drove to nearby cities and towns including San Gimignano, Volterra, Siena and Florence. We visited 5 wineries and 2 museums and the Duomo in Siena. We hope to return soon.

Set on the outskirts of San Gimignano, this is a gem of a B&B. It offers tranquility away from the nearby frenetic pace of the visiting hordes. The Martelli brothers run this place just right, friendly and helpful yet unobtrusive.

Tuscany at its best!
This hotel was the high light of our trip in Tuscany. The location could not have been better with breathtaking views on the Tuscany landscape. It is a small rural hotel a stone throw away from San Gimignano an easy day trip distance from Sienna and Florence in the heart of Tuscany. The owner Alex was a superb host and treated us one night and some other guest to a home cooked Tuscany meal.( it does not have a restaurant but serves good breakfast and has a kitchen.) The food was outstanding. The room and bathroom was large very clean with stone floors. It has plenty of car parking.This stay(3 nights) could not have been better.

We stay in the hotel for second time. This is the one of the most beautiful places for us. The staff and the owner are very kind. The rooms are clean, the breakfast are delicious, the pictures around the hotel are amazing. We love this place and Tuscany. They are in our hearts forever😊.

Beautiful country location in a rustic hotel
Loved this place. Peaceful and beautiful setting. Great proprietor and staff. Wonderful views. Nice pool. Great breakfast. Clean and well maintained for an older facility. Barbecue dinner prepared by the proprietor and staff was great and a lot of fun on the cozy patio overlooking the grounds. Convenient location to see San Gimignano, Volterre and Sienna. 45 min from Florence. 20 min from Chianti. Highly recommend!

Lovely country resort
Our stay at Il Casale del Cotone was very memorable. Situated only 2 km from San Gimignano and surrounded by beauty all around, this resort offers wonderful vistas as well being able to relax by the lovely pool and enjoy the beautiful gardens. The host Alessandro was very friendly and very personable. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. However, the most memorable time was a very special meal in the evening in the gardens...a night to remember. I have already recommended this place to many and hope to return one day.

We enjoyed 2 nights relaxing by the pool with a stunning view and a delicious Tuscan dinner in the beautiful surrounding gardens. I highly recommend this B&B and will be coming back again!

Simply perfect
We just returned from two wonderful weeks at Il Casale del Cotone. Alessandro, the staff, and the accomodations could not have been any better. Everybody is super friendly, courteous, helpful and professional. The room is comfortable and very clean. Actually the entire grounds and the pool are kept in an immaculate condition. The place is centrally located for day trips to Florence, Pisa, Volterra, Siena, and smaller places such as Certaldo, Monteriggioni, and Colle di Val d'Elsa. All bigger cities can be reached easily by train which can be boarded in Certaldo (6 miles). The train station has plenty of parking and the ticket machines are easy to use. Just don't forget to validate your ticket. Even Venice and Rome can be reached by train in about three hours by going to Florence and taking a high speed train from there. Alessandro gave us that tip about taking the train, and it took a lot of stress out of travelling.

Absolutely wonderful! Gorgeous vistas all around. Best breakfast by far so far. Very clean and comfortable. The staff exceedingly friendly and helpful. Would love to have stayed a lot longer. It's in the countryside but easy to find. Very, very relaxing.

Lovely family run hotel with an outdoor pool.
The hotel is in a beautiful setting just 2.5 km away from San Gimignano. It is family run and the owners made us feel very welcome. The room was very clean and there were fresh towels provided daily. We had a lovely meal one evening which was cooked by the owner himself and was very popular. We loved the outdoor pool, especially our 5 year old who never wanted to get out! We would definately recommend this hotel to anyone whether you are a family, couple or single. It was perfect.

This hotel was perfect the photos do not do it justice. Alesandro works so hard to make it a great stay. The meals were fantastic in the evening. Beautiful setting, lovely and quiet a perfect retreat. The only thing I would say is you need a car, they do breakfast and an evening meal every other evening but for lunch you need to go out and our taxis did add up as it's €15 just to get into san gimigiano! This however has nothing to do with this fantastic hotel which I would not hesitate to recommend.

Beautiful Tuscan country home
Our stay at Il Casale del Cotone was lovely. Our triple room was comfortable and spacious. The shutters on the windows kept out all light and made sleeping an incredible experience. Breakfast can be eaten on the terrace overlooking the Tuscan countryside. It's a great start to the day. The pool is surrounded by fragrant plants and flowers it provides a welcome relief from the afternoon heat and a fabulous place to unwind at the end of the day. The highlight of our trip by far was the dinner prepared by Alessandro, the owner, on Friday evening. It was the best meal we had in Tuscany. It was served on the terrace under the stars the food, the wine, the setting were all wonderful. A few drawbacks: the internet in our room did not ever work. We had to go to reception to get a signal. Not an insurmountable problem but definitely not convenient. Even in the reception area the internet was often quite slow. This is a bed and breakfast so there is not always someone at reception. One day I ended up being locked out of the building in the afternoon because my son went up to the room with our key and then Alessandro left and locked the main door. I didn't have to wait too long for someone to come by to let me in but it is something to think about. Overall - lovely place and a good stay. We would go back.

Beautiful spot in Tuscany
We stayed two nights on our parents advice. They were certainly not mistaken. The property is situated very well to access all of the great towns near by. Alesandro was a great host and if you get an opportunity to have dinner there, take it! It was 35€/person for 4 courses and included wine and grappa.

This is a peaceful beautiful setting for a stay in the San Gimignano area. Alessandro had created a beautiful property with a pool overlooking the countryside. His dinners shouldn't be missed. What fun! Our room was a little small so ask for a larger room when booking. Don't hesitate to book this B&B.

Beautiful building in picture perfect surroundings
Our much awaited stay in a Bed and Breakfast in Tuscany was not disappointing. We were warmly welcomed, our room was lovely. The surrounding area was delightful. We had no need to go anywhere....even to return to San G. We decided to spend the precious time around the magnificence residence. Such care has been taken in restoration. Although the light was perhaps not the kindest we still managed to take photos and whilst hiding around a corner I finally was able to do a small water colour painting. At last a little goal reached in Tuscany. The evening meal was not to be missed though one did need to be pushed back to the room.
