A draw for us choosing this property was "a vacation home with amenities". The first line of the description says "Come enjoy this 5 bedroom 4 bath heated pool home...". The pool heater did not work. Even though it was likely the coldest weekend Hernando Beach has seen in some time, the heater did not work at all. The owner said that because it is cold it does not work well. The person cleaning the pool turned the heater up, said that it only ran when the jacuzzi was on, and that it was temperamental when it was cold out. He also contacted the owner and said that the owner would be out to check it. We never saw the owner. Additionally, the boards that make up the dock need to be replaced. When we stepped on one of them, our foot went through it. On the entrance, there are no railings on the landing by the door, though the holes that once held poles are present. Because we were all adults, we recognized the hazard and avoided standing near the edge of the landing, Families with young children would need to be extremely cautious as the drop is about six feet.
The electricity in the first floor queen bedroom was not working when we arrived on Thursday. On Friday morning, we looked at the breaker box and saw that one of the breakers was flipped. When we flipped it back on, the electricity worked in that room. There were very few additional blankets, and the heater did not heat the bedrooms on the second floor well and the master bathroom at all. The interior finishes (painting have been poorly redone and the layout of the house is somewhat odd. For the nightly price of this property, we were expecting higher quality and good maintenance..
