I only stayed one night, but I had a good night sleep and enjoyed walking the area the evening before.

Everything from the staff, the rooms, the service.

This is a truly beautiful old bank building downtown turned into a pretty good, but not great hotel. The lobby and bar area is really gorgeous, with marble and brass everywhere. Comfortable seating, best part of the whole experience. The staff are very attentive, pleasant, and always trying hard. However, the food menu is very limited, and they seem to have a shortage of kitchen and wait staff. The room was nice, with big tall ceilings, nicely decorated. But the bathroom was very small, somewhat dirty, and had cracking tile in and around floor and shower. The whole hotel seemed just a little “less” than most fancy restoration properties. It’s owned by Hilton, and I think it’s kind of being overlooked as an important part of their brand. Hilton should be cleaner and more up to date in its offerings than this. Overall, I would stay again, but I think there are much nicer choices right around the block if you want an old historic hotel in downtown St. Louis.
