A One night stop over.Posted Apr 13, 2015
Pros: Location, parking & breakfast.
Cons: Don't over sell the rooms! Make all the hotel rooms non smoking.
Location: Shops & restaurant near by.
We,ve used Hampton Inn before for short stays so know exactly what to expect, and that's why we use them. Easy parking, a comfy room, a cooked free breakfast & we know how much it cost upfront. The only thing that let it down on this trip was the non smoking room we had payed for, was over sold. This meant we ended up taking a smoking room, which the staff did clean & try to freshen up before we arrived. But you can't cover the smell totally.

Ants and beachPosted Apr 7, 2015
Pros: The location.
Cons: Breakfast needs to be better staffed. Bathroom could be better cleaned.
Location: Things to do include going to the beach; and the Sunken Garden.
The hotel is very close to major beaches. By car it took us 20 minutes (give or take traffic) to get to a beach. My room had ants for the entire stay though I reported it twice to hotel staff, the situation was never resolved. It made it difficult to place food on the counter or my daughter's medication which the ants seemed to have a particular fondness for. I loved the free breakfast but the hotel needs to do better with ensuring the food stations are refilled on busy days such as Saturdays.

Nice hotel on commercial stripPosted Mar 11, 2015
Plenty of parking, good front desk, OK breakfast, fairly convenient to St. Pete attractions….worth it for the price. On the so-so side: an older bed, spotty maid service, no comfortable space for reading, few dining options nearby, missed wake-up call (their older system crashes, manager told me….floppy-disc based!). But again, acceptable hotel, priced right.

Chickens? ??Posted Feb 28, 2015
We arrived at this hotel after a pretty scary drive through a not great part of town. Our reservation was for three people, 2 adults 1 child. We requested a roll away bed or room with 2 double beds when we reserved the room. Upon check in we were told we'd be in a room with a king bed only and that requests made via Expedia were not in their policy to honor. We did manage to get a roll away bed but not without major attitude from the front desk. Later in the evening we requested extra blankets and never received them. The neighborhood this hotel is located in IS NOT SAFE and we felt very uncomfortable walking from our car back to the hotel at night. There are chickens wandering around the property as well. We were woken up several times by the rooster early in the morning.
