Room had not been cleaned...no duating done Pulled the door back and found cigarette butts and ashes all on floor..non smoking rooms bybthe way. Also sheets were satined with a black substance. The tub would not drain. Paid 90$ for one night stay...it wasnt worth the money...never again

First we get there and they had just given the king room I booked online to a walk in single customer. Then we got a key, hauled our luggage upstairs to open the door on a man changing his clothes in his room. Back downstairs we go. Get another key, back upstairs we go…the key doesn’t work. Back downstairs, clerk comes up with master key, 3 rooms later, we are able to walk into an empty room but don’t have a key to go in and out. No I’ve machine. Vending machine took $3, no coke dispensed. For the price I didn’t expect much but safety is always a concern

The room was very nice, recently updated, comfortable beds. We were missing our remote but we were just there to sleep. And the heater didn't work so the room was chilly but my husband didn't mind it as much as I did. Again, we were just there to sleep, so no biggie. I'm sure if we told the front desk, they would've moved us, but it was late and we were tired. I would recommend this place for a nice room to stay in.

Affordable and clean
I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in. It was a one night stay on our way from Austin to Florida and to save money, I found the most affordable hotel. I had my doubts when I saw how low the price was and when I saw just a vinyl banner hung over a previous sign outside. I guess this establishment had recently been acquired by Wyndahm and they were still completing the finishing touches. we were greeted by a very friendly clerk, and I was even more pleasantly suprised when we walked into our room. It was very clean and comfortable. We had a very pleasant stay, and if we ever find ourselves needing a hotel in Sulpher again, this hotel will be the one.

Not what I expected when I booked
I booked the hotel for my birthday getaway. I didnt like the fact that the property pictures did not match the reality. The beds were pretty hard and the bed covers seemed smokey even though the hotel is supposed to be smoke free. My wife and I decided to cut short our stay by one night. However, to my surprise and indignation, I was charged for the entire booking even though the manager assured me that he would refund the second night of my stay. Now I am waiting to see if there is a refund or if I have to deal with my banking institution on my end.

When I checked in, the refrigerator had a box of beer and a container of half eaten chicken in it. That shows that the room had not been properly cleaned after the last guest. The lighting was POOR. No ceiling lights, and a light over the bed was out. Workers were never there. There was a sign in the windows to call a worker and/or ring the doorbell if you needed anything. They never picked up the phone or answered the doorbell.

Did not actually stay. The facility is extremely run down and obviously in need of cleaning and repairs. At check-in they mentioned that they did not have hot water. That was a deal breaker for us. We left and found another accommodation nearby.

STAY AWAY. Do Not Waste your money
There was no fire alarm in the room and no sprinkler. There were stains in the bed. Bathroom was horrible. The tub/shower had more mold and lime scale than clean areas. The towels were old, stained and fraying. The bed felt like a cement slab and pillows were flat as a pancake.

Saturday morning I evacuated with my foster rescue dog from New Orleans headed west. It took 11 hours to get to lake Charles LA (3 hour drive). I was fortunate to have found this last minute hotel bc I couldn’t drive anymore and there were no rooms available from New Orleans to Houston! Check in was fine. The outside looked sketchy but it was an evacuation and I wasn’t judging. I was told my dog wasn’t allowed. If he found out he said he’d charge $150. That would’ve been fine but it was the way spoken to. At a time when life is already uncertain and scary. And when lake Charles was hit twice hard last year and he should remember all too well. The room was worn, but clean and roomy. Lights were burnt out. The back of the hotel is bare and frightening. Felt unsafe. No amenities like drink or food machine, no working phone in room, no swimming pool, no dogs during evacuation, and some price gouging for a storm hitting. The bed was comfortable. I asked for an extra hour are check out but denied. I was told be out in 30 min. Not kind. Then the employee stood outside my door charging for the dog and telling me in a direct and condescending tone with an attitude. May have been language issue, or nationality differences, overall, I’m grateful for the room. I was comfortable. I got an extra 30 min late check out. And the employee only charged $50 for the dog which was a lot better than $150. Very grateful for that! That said I wouldnt stay here again by choice.

The room looked nothing like the pics.It’s next to a cheap Chinese buffet and the area looks run down.The guy that checked us in wasn’t friendly at all.The ceiling was shredded.There we’re wires hanging out of the wall with no plug plate or anything.The fire alarms wires were hanging out of it.The bedding was dirty and not made.There was trash all over the floor and the bathroom was not cleaned.The only good thing about it was the price.Will def be staying somewhere else
