This hotel was located within walking distance of UT campus as well as the Riverwalk, so location gets a 10/10. The building itself is outdated and in need of a facelift. While the room was clean, the floors couldve been mopped better. There isn’t much of an “energy” at Aloft Tampa, so if that’s what you’re looking for there are other (better) options nearby for dining, hotel bar, etc. The staff were all nice and courteous. Parking is valet only and $40/night, which is pretty standard.

Property looks much better in pictures than in person. Needs updating. Not enough lounge seating by pool. They are going for a modern esthetic but fail at practicality

This property is not worth the rate . We were advised through site we would have a microwave in room, restaurant on site , and self park $10 day. This was not the case . The bar/ restaurant only offered chicken fingers and pretzels, we had no choice to self park valet only 40 a night. In addition the microwave was located down the hallway by the ice machine it was very dirty . Also the king room did not have a dresser or even shelves In room to in pack clothes only a closet but no drawers or shelves for clothing . I would not recommend this nor stay there again

The moment I step foot to the first floor to take the elevator to go to lobby, the floor was dirty. Arriving to the lobby area was a mix of urine smell, after staying for the second day I figured that the smell was coming from the pool area. There is a strong blast of air freshner, which was a bit annoying to the nose. Carpets were full of stained. Room was smelly. Had to inspect the bed carefully before sleeping. The hotel is not well kept. The only good thing about the hotel is the location,walkable to everything in dowtown. However, I find that there are too many expensive restaurants around! The noise at night time is unbearable. Every time someone flush the table next door, I was able to hear it. Sirens from ambulance can be clearly heard through my room. Cars blasting their radios day and night.

I had a great stay for gasparilla. The staff was extra accommodating and nice. We even got early check in at 10am! I will definitely be staying at the aloft again in the future.

One very small window that looks outside to a concrete wall. Tiny room with all grey walls. No drawer to put your clothes away. Bad creamer in room to make coffee. Guest coffee in dining area is empty. Cleaning service had no extra towels. Water was hot thankfully and decent shower

Very Disappointing Experience
Very disappointing. Valet Parking Only. No Bell Services. Paid for a River view. They said they didn’t have any left. When we entered the room there the lights weren’t working. Had to have maintenance come up and fix it. Only one lamp in the living room part of the suite so very dark. Bathroom smelled as old mop. We left the same day we got there and when we told the front desk of the issues and that we wouldn’t be staying all they could say is that you will be charged for the night. Went to the front desk 3 separate times but nobody seemed to care what was going on. We were just so shocked that this is part of the Marriott chain. We have never had this type of situation before with a Marriott.
