Fantastic Location
Location was great right on the Lakefront and Lake Walk with gorgeous views and lovely afternoon sun. Perfect for walks and bike rides. Two Mile Sailing Club with yummy food & drink options and dog-friendly with relaxed vibes is a nice short walk away too. Check-in was easy and good communication with host.

Perfect for stress relief
With a few stressful weeks of relocating my parents to a rest home this was the perfect break away. Far better than expected, the home is spacious, very well equipment and comfortable, including the beds. The location was perfect, especially being on the Lake. This will be at the top of my list for my next NZ break away.

We always thoroughly enjoy our stay here. Safe swimming, amazing views and so great being right on the walkway. Beds very comfortable, house is clean and has everything you need. Owner very easy to deal with. Thank you for sharing your home, as staying here has always been our highlight of our holiday.

Great spot
Perfect location. Short walk to lakeside cafe and right beside lakeside walk and cycle way. Having the lawnmowing , weedeating and leaf blowing being done while we were there was very loud and felt intrusive, with the worker not hesitating to look through the window at us. Other than that would totally recommend the spot. Very expensive for 2 'gold card' people, but it was absolute lakeside and a treat for us.

In response to this review. I have had no issues over the many years that we have had our property rented out as a holiday let, with our lawn mowing contractors - this is a first which I have addressed. Secondly, our property is often referred to "as the best kept secret in Taupo" owing to it's five star location. Our nightly rate is extremely reasonable and it is our choice to keep this way.

Step back in time
Staying here was like stepping back in time to a simpler era. A cosy house with a simple kitchen and mismatched furniture. However it is warm and cosy and has everything you need to fit our family of five comfortably. The shower pressure is great. The ten steps to the lake even better. Make sure to explore the waters edge to find where the hot springs enter. There are many more modern options on the lake but this one truly feels like a home. We had a brilliant time doing all the activities in the area- hot springs; hiking; cycling; jet boating; white water rafting; luge and some fascinating geography. A great base for a week to explore the area.

We loved our stay here. Everything was just as in the pictures. We loved because no able to walk across the lawn, being able to head straight towards the water for a swim. Would definitely stay here again.

Magical place
Waking up to the lakeshore is an amazing experience, this took me back to our family Bach in Taupo in the nineties, was very cool! We all enjoyed our stay. The only thing I would say is a bit of maintenance is required. The hand shower was cable tied up which must have been previously broken and roof guttering rusting out . We were going to use the bbq but it was very dirty so we decided not to. But minor faults we really enjoyed our stay with our family

We had a wonderful stay at this property, the most amazing views, beautiful walks, close to everything. The house has plenty of room and is super cozy on those colder nights. We would definitely love to stay again next time we visit Taupo!

Brilliant location
What a magic spot you’ve got here! To be able to open your lounge blinds to such a spectacular view, was the icing on the cake here. We really enjoyed the location. We had the ease of the Yacht club a short stroll away. Fantastic pizza and vibe there. Great for families! We had the footpath to town basically on our doorstep. The home was perfect for what we were wanting. Beds were comfortable and the house was warm with help of the heat pump. Much needed for a Taupo winter. I would absolutely recommend this place, it would be even better in summer. Thanks for the great communication and magic spot! We loved it!

Loved our stay, definately a cosy house right on the lake front with a motel right next door. easy walking distance to town and plenty of restaurants. Warm and inviting with a 1950s feel about it. Would definately stay again!

Cute bach - incredible spot
Very well equipped bach. 3 decent sized bedrooms. Master looks out over the lake. Bathroom is good with a nice shower. Handle was broken but the property owner mentioned this would be fixed in due course. Amazing spot and kids loved going for a swim straight after breakfast and the 3 year old rode his scooter into town (about 3kms walk along the lake). Would love to visit again.

We had a wonderful time staying right on the lakefront and being able to take our little dog was great too. We did enjoy walks around the lake even though the weather wasn't the best. Lovely Bach at Lakefront
We had some lovely days in this Bach with our dogs. It’s situated directly at the lakefront and you can walk into the water from your house. Great view. If you have young kids or dogs that won’t stay at your property without a fence you might want to be careful. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything for you to make a meal. The bed was super comfortable. Communications with Carolyn we’re easy and quick reply’s. I already booked for next year!

we stayed at this property with our adult daughter and her partner, plus our medium sized dog. It was clean, the beds were very comfy, and the lakeside location couldn't be beaten! The heating was on when we arrived which was a welcoming touch.
