More like a large B&B than a hotel. The owners are friendly and attentive. Heather is a great cook and we enjoyed dinner and breakfast. The rooms are comfortable and clean. There is no town in the vicinity, so once settled in, don't anticipate going out again.

Strathy Inn was a wonderful overnight stop. The hosts were very welcoming and happy to share their knowledge of the area. The evening meal was excellent, and the breakfast outstanding. The room was super comfy, warm and quiet- definitely a place worth stopping at!

First the good things about this property… it is clean and the owners are very kind and helpful and the food served in the bar and for breakfast is very good. I really would like to give this property a better review but I have to be honest. As other guests pointed out, it is in the middle of no where with only one dining option in the area being the restaurant at the campground. Dinner is available at the Inn and was very good but quite expensive for what it was. The Inn itself is old and the furniture is a mix of styles from the 70s and some antiques. The rooms are small and our bedroom was next to the small room that served as the sitting room and breakfast room which meant you could hear others in the breakfast room while try to sleep. My husband also complained that it had a musty smell. It also was quite expensive for what it had to offer, being the same price as the Gairloch hotel but not coming even close to the same standard offered. If you are looking for a clean hotel with friendly hosts and a good breakfast and decent dinner and are not concerned about your surroundings or the price than I would most definitely recommend the Strathy Inn.

Thank you for your review. I am sorry your stay did not fully meet your expectations. We are in a very quiet and remote location, which I appreciate does not suit everyone, but most visitors seem to love the beautiful surroundings. I am pleased you found the food to be very good. There is a cost to using high quality ingredients with home made food, and we try and keep our prices as reasonable as we can.

Good sized, well appointed, clean room. Very friendly and welcoming hosts, nice welcome from Heather when I arrived and clear explanation about the room. Went to the bar for a beer and had a nice chat with Craig who was behind the bar. Breakfast was lovely. I stayed here during my NC500 (North Coast 500) road trip, I strongly recommend it as a nice place to stay.

Fantastic stay nearby beautiful beach
We enjoyed staying in Strathy Inn. Very friendly and professional host. The room and bathroom were clean. Comfortable beds and good facilities. The breakfast was really tasty.

Lovely hosts, nice room and great food. Only small comment would be the tv is a little small and low for viewing when in bed but other than we really enjoyed our short stay.

Different type of stay
This was very different lodgings then any other we stayed on during our trip. The room smelt musty and the furniture is a mix of 50's dark wood mixed with 70's formica. Hosts were good.

Small, Friendly and Quiet
Lovely couple running The Strathy Inn - the Inn is really small and therefore offers a personal feel. I think there are 3 guest rooms in total. The bar area is just as quaint and has a few tables. The breakfast on the morning we left was the best breakfast in our 30 day trip. Thank you Strathy Inn.

A welcome stopover in a clean friendly establishment. Large quiet room. Covid regs all well managed. Lovely reasonable priced home cooked meals and refreshing drinks available. Great breakfast included. Helpful hosts who share local info on where to visit.

Disappointed that Strathy Inn was not closer to Thurso - Thurso is it's postcode area - my fault, I should have checked it out. Pretty basic - rather tired - but breakfast excellent.

I am sorry our facilities and location were not up to your expectation. This is a 200 year old building in a remote location. We have tried to modernise the facilities whilst maintaining the character of this historic building. We are glad you enjoyed the breakfast

Great location for this quaint old inn. Nearby to a beautiful beach and lighthouse. Rooms are nice sized, beds are hard but plenty of pillows and blankets. The hosts are very friendly and if you can do eat in their bar/restaurant! The food is very good!

Lovely, quiet setting.
Had a great sleep in a very comfortable bed. The room was large and very quiet. We had dinner at the restaurant, it was the best meal we have had in Scotland on this trip so far! We also had the chance for a drink in the little pub, thoroughly enjoyed the conversation and the beverage selections. This stay was an excellent experience.
