Staff were very welcoming and got us checked in quickly. Downfall was there was no AC. It was 25 degrees Celsius both days we were there and it was hot! We had to sleep with the window open to try and sleep and it was loud first thing in the morning. Beds were very hard. Overall great location and average room.

Not for people with disabilities
Not a good hotel for people with a walking/standing disability. There are no ramps or railings at the entrance. Infact, there are stairs without any railings and poor night time lighting. So if you have a walking impediment or require a wheelchair, then this is not the hotel to book. Air ventilation is poor so the room, during the winter, is very stuffy. They provide a humidifier/air purifier machine but it wasn't all that helpful. Crack open a window to let some fresh air in but if you're staying in the winter then make sure to keep your body and head warm at night. It was very cold since there's no thermostat for the rooms. They have a central air conditioner that runs but it was not working during the first 2 days of our stay. The elevator closes quickly so watch out for that. The front desk people were polite and nice. There were room/stay amenities at the lobby (e.g. toothpaste and toothbrushes, wash clothes, etc.). The room has very good shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The rooms with single beds were very small; they are only big enough for 1 person...maybe 2 people of smaller statures. I recommend booking the rooms with 2 beds if you want a normal sized room. The bathtub (at least the one in our single bed room) had, what feels like, a very flimsy bottom. I felt like I would break it if I stayed in the tub too long. The height between the floor to ceiling in the bathroom is shorter and you have to step over a small wall to get into the bathroom.

Practically everything about this property was good. One thing that can be improved is the poor wifi— it has been a consistent complaint of guests. The property should do something about it.

Close enough to the metro lines to be apart of everything and still be quiet and relaxing. Compared to Shibuya, Shinjuku, Ikebukiro. Ueno is cost effective and downright friendly

It is closed to the main Ueno metro station. It is also only couple minutes from the Ginza line. The hotel is on the quiet side of Ueno station. The other side has lot of restaurants and shops which are about 10 mins way. The hotel is fine except the wifi is horrible. I had stayed at the same chain in Yokohama which had no problem at all.

Great location, near JR Ueno station (5min walk) and Sensō-ji (浅草寺) (20min walk). Quiet at night. Room is clean. The only issue is the WIFI coverage.

The hotel is well-located and the front desk reception were polite and helpful, however the bathroom smelt musty and the toilet was mouldy under the rim. The room was spacious but hotel is overall a bit tired. Wifi was awful and barely worked, we ended up purchasing our own internet. The air conditioner only had 3 temperature settings and was not very effective at cooling the room. Be careful with the lift doors as they tend to close prematurely and do not have sensors.

The staff at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. The room was not very clean. The toilet rim was very dirty as was the outside of the toilet. The shower curtain had mildew on the bottom of it. There was lots of trash underneath the bed. One of the cleaning people kept throwing away my loofah that I had hanging on my own hanger to dry. The hotel was close to the train station but I would not stay here again.

The hotel and the room was just ok , we had a stroller and there was no ramp for it so we had to carry it up the stairs every time , the bathroom had no ventilation so it had mold around the tub and under the sink which made the rooms smell as well

Room was tiny, clean and quiet. It had a half length tub. The AC did not work and the room was warm even though it was cool outside. The portable cooler made it liveable. Good location 10 minute walk to JR Ueno.

The property was very quiet. Staff was friendly. Less than 10 minute walk from Ueno Station. Although the room was small, it was everything that we needed (as we did not spend much time there). Clean place to sleep and bathe. Many amenities were provided. The only thing we didn't like was the A/C. It was very weak (even on high) and warm which made it very uncomfortable to be in the room. Had to open the window to let the cool air in but window could only open a few inches. Overall good place just bad a/c.

Room was tiny! Barely room to sit at the desk. Would happily have paid the extra $50 to be on other side of building (where our friends were) and had a little extra space. Disappointing.

Nice Location but Bed a bit too small.
The room is small and compact but not an issue. However, the location was convenient to Metro. The twin bed was a little too small to fit in 2 person. Even we selected Eco, after 4 days, without the DND, the room was not cleaned. Overall still a nice property for simple traveller.

Great location, good service
Within walking distance to the Ueno train and subway stations as well as a few major sightseeing attractions. Lots of shops and eateries nearby.

Good pricing for a one night stay before leaving Japan. Good breakfast. Room is really tiny as expected for this type of hotels in Tokyo.

Cramped
We booked a semi-double room for the first night and a double room for the following three nights. Difference was minimal except for a slightly wider bed in the second room, but since the sizes of the rooms are the same the second room is even more cramped than the first. The room is clean but falls short of my expectation of Japanese standards. The water tank in the humidifier was left unfilled after it dried out after one night’s use. Reception staff are polite and speak reasonably good English
