Lake Superior Log Home Retreat

Note: Advertised rate is for the full cabin and property but with just the king bedroom. You can add queen bedrooms (see IMPORTANT NOTE below)

Welcome to our new log home / cabin (1700sf 1-3 bed 2 bath) on a ridge near Lake Superior with easy access to Duluth, Two Harbors and beyond. Great “base camp” for your time exploring the North Shore or just relaxing with family and friends in your place on private acreage.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Over our first few years renting out our new log cabin / home, we've noticed that quite often we have only one couple staying at a time. But, we had our rates set to include all of the bedrooms when only one was needed. That seems unfair to us. So, we've adjusted our rates to reflect just one king bedroom so that a one couple booking doesn't have to pay for all the bedrooms. Unfortunately, our online booking site doesn't have a way for us to let folks automatically select more bedrooms. If you'd like to add one or two more queen bedrooms (each is $50/night), just get booked and then message us here.

We had a great stay. Loved the set up and cozy atmosphere. The deer and eagles were fun to watch. The grandchildren loved Gooseberry Falls and the Split Rock Lighthouse. Loved this spot for our long weekend in the north shore. Close to state parks, two harbors, and Duluth. Beautiful sunrise and fall foliage views from the deck and cute visits from deer in the woods. We wished for some more seating options in the main kitchen area for morning coffee when it was too wet to be outside on the deck (other than sitting at dining table). I think this spot would benefit from furniture in loft (it’s empty) and maybe air mattresses to accommodate families with children. Could easily host more folks in the cabin with a few more accommodations. Would 100% stay here again and recommend.

It was mostly good. It was private like we wanted, clean and well furnished. One small complaint, only bedrooms had curtains. Curtains on all windows and doors would have been nice, especially when dark and interior lights are on. Biggest complaint was it was listed with air conditioning, but either too small or not functioning. Heat up during the day and if no wind very slow to cool down at night with open windows. Some of the screens had small tears patched with band aids and a few bugs got in. AC on didn't lower inside temperature. We don't leave windows open at night at our own house and don't want to leave them open at night at our vacation rental.

The cabin was a perfect home base for 2 couples. We had perfect weather, so we spent lots of time on the deck. Also enjoyed movie nights. Great location for many hikes. We enjoyed several nearby restaurants, and Betty’s Pies was our favorite. Chad was very responsive. The cabin was very clean and comfortable.

Great cabin for North Shore weekend
Very nice and well equipped cabin about 20 minutes north of Duluth. Excellent place to stay for our group of 5 for Grandma's marathon weekend. Chad is a great host, responded quickly to questions and seemed like someone I'd like to have as a friend. Was magical watching fireflies in the meadow below the deck after it got dark. We hope to stay here again!

This is a nice cabin with a view of Lake Superior. We were there for a weekend in late March, so it was cold and snowy. We used the fire table briefly to make s’mores and were sad the weather wasn’t better since we didn’t want to linger. The basement tv area was cozy at night. We are interested to learn what will go into the loft! Library/game room? We went to the aquarium and Glensheen Manor in Duluth and up to Gooseberry Falls since we’ve never seen it frozen before. Couldn’t believe how many deer we saw!

Perfect quiet getaway! Immaculately clean; great owners!
This was the perfect weekend getaway. I wanted to get away from home and have a quiet space to rest for the weekend. My husband and sons wanted something close to great snowmobile trails. We all got what we wanted. This home is IMMACULATE! Everything looks brand new and is sparkling clean. Chad was fantastic to communicate with and made this a super easy stay. I loved that you could look out some windows and see nothing but nature. The views of Lake Superior were spectacular, especially on a sunny morning. Take your time driving slow down the road and you'll likely see a family or two of deer. I highly recommend this property!

The house is super clean and conveniently located to the gateway to the North Shore. The views of superior were awesome, house was well equipped, the heated bathroom floors were a major plus, and the cozy living room was perfect way to relax after a long day of hiking!
