Perfect home for U of I visit
This is a cute little home and looks just as in the pictures. We were 2 couples visiting our kids at U of I for parents’ weekend and wanted to stay together. This was the perfect option and so much more affordable compared to the exorbitant prices the hotels charge during visiting weekends. We had cars so being a couple miles from campus was no problem. When we had a question, Molly answered within minutes and was very helpful. We didn’t use the upstairs bedroom, but as described in other reviews, the stairs are very narrow and I wouldn’t recommend using that room for little kids, older people, or anyone with physical impairments. It’s a good option for teenagers and older probably but they still need to be careful! All in all though, I’d stay here again.

Not great old house with old house quirkiness and dangerous obstacles
It was difficult to find at night. You have to pull into an unmarked gravel alley and driveway that is in very bad shape. The outdoor lighting is poor and the deck steps are dangerous and need to be replaced. The sidewalk leading up to the house from the street is badly broken and there is no front yard lighting so getting dropped off by Uber is a potential accident if you don’t know about it. Had several issues with Uber finding the house also. We walked in to a very musty overpowering odor. We had to keep the windows open which made it hard to sleep. None of the bedroom or bathroom doors lock. The beds were very uncomfortable and one bed downstairs was unusually short. My feet hung off the end. The upstairs bedroom is really a converted attic that nobody should attempt to go up to. The stairs were precarious. So steep and unusually short / half the length of a normal stair tread. One of us had to turn around and come down backwards where the stairs turned the corner. We considered leaving early or finding another place but there was nothing available. It was decorated cute. They tried but it could not make up for some real issues

Tracy, I am so sorry to hear all of these things. We have never had a single complaint about these items. If you look at our photos you will see a warning regarding the stairs and a caution as to the steepness. Beds are very comfortable according to all our previous guests, we have motion detection on all our back lights, the steps leading to the door are recently replaced, we have noise cancellation machines in all rooms to eliminate the road noise, and we have no control over the road to the house nor the signage. We do, however, give VERY detailed instructions if you would have read them. We understand some guests you can not make happy but if you would have reached out at ANY point to us to notify us of any problems we could have worked with you. We are sorry you chose to not ask for improvements but rather hurt our business by a poor review. We have never received anything other than 5 star reviews in the 2 years of hosting so many lovely families. We hope our future guests will take this under consideration before hesitating to stay with us. We pride ourself in our guests leaving happy!

Cute older home
The home was was pleasant and met our needs. The decor was nice. Communication was excellent from the owner. The couch was hard to get up from. Parking was very tight for our one ton truck since it was in a back alleyway.

in town for reunion
We were in town for a family reunion. There were 5 adults and found that this house was a good fit for us. The stairs to the upstairs are steep but that was mentioned upon booking. We finally figured out how to maneuver them. Thanks to Molly for responding so quickly to make our visit go so well. Thanks.

Absolutely pefect and charming!
Everything was perfect! Excellent communication. I was an idiot and got us locked up. Molly had the keys to us within 45 minutes and she was even out of town. Beautiful remodeled home! Sooooo clean! Smelled amazing! Fresh flowers x 2 in the house! Nice touch. Kitchen well stocked. Plenty of towels, soap, shampoo, dishes, condiments and even wine (which we did not drink). Only one wine glass but hey, a coffee mug works! Beds comfy. One is super soft. One is super firm. Fancy technology for lights. It was a two mile walk to campus and probably a 10-15 drive pending traffic. Fun park next door with a green space garden. Washer/dryer with laundry soap. The upstairs stairs are something! One must be careful at all times and would not be good for children, old adults or those who are tipsy. They are just small and steep! If you sit on the deck, bring your own lawn chairs. Not a biggie. We just used our picnic blanket and sat outside for hours and enjoyed the evening. Plenty of restaurants near the house. Would 100% recommend and would stay there again.

Purdue vs. Illinois Weekend
We had a great say. We converged from three states for a weekend of football. The accommodations were as described. The kitchen is well equipped! Hint! Bring your own wine opener!! Rooms are as described. Note the stairway is accurately described as narrow and steep. House is neat and tidy. Only 10 minutes to the stadium. TV is live streaming only, so bring your login and passwords. Awesome weekend!

Great place for an easy stay
This is a great cozy house that was perfectly suited for our needs for a quick one night stay while in town to visit friends. The house was well stocked with essentials (towels, napkins, basic cleaning supplies, etc). The third bedroom is located upstairs, and the stairs are slightly narrow and steep, so minor thing to keep in mind depending on who you plan on staying at the house. Molly, the owner, is very responsive and cares about making sure her guests have a comfortable stay. We appreciated her hospitality! Thanks again!

Cozy Vintage-Chic Getaway
This historic home in Urbana featured stylistic furnishings and modern amenities. The location with a nearby Starbucks, Grocery and dining choices were an added benefit. Neighbors and general community was friendly and we felt safe during our stay. Hostess was very communicative and responsive. Would stay here again.

We rented Molly's Mainstay to be close to our family photographer to document our adoption since our appointment was so early. The house was perfect. It was easy to find, absolutely adorable, communication was excellent and there was plenty of surprise extras that made our stay super convenient; like toiletries. Wish we could have stayed more than one night. Would highly recommend!

Great space for families. Definitely enough space for all. All the conveniences of home and supplied really well. Access to upstairs is great for older kids, would be concerned for littles, but my teen thought it was a great space! Close to campus and shopping which is what we needed. Decoration was darling. Felt at home.

What a charming home! On the edge of a green space, so close to the grocery. Immaculately clean and impeccably decorated. So comfy! We were able to relax with our daughter and a couple of friends after their performance. Will check for you again when we are in the area!

Charming house in Urbana
Charming and well-appointed house very close to downtown Urbana. Slept four adults very comfortably. Would be great for a family, too! It's right next to a green space and a park. I'll definitely stay here again if I have the need.
