The old cinder block building has a long history of uses before it was remodeled to a vacation rental in January 2021. The larger bedroom features a queen-size bed, the smaller bedroom a twin-size bunk bed, and the living room a double-size futon couch. BaseCamp can accommodate six people total. We’ve stocked the kitchen with everything you need including a few basic staple items like coffee and tea, flour and sugar. BaseCamp has free wi-fi, Roku TV, and the capability for online movie streaming. It's comfortable and peaceful, and we work hard to keep it clean, but please note that bugs (mostly cedar) do sometimes find their way in.
We built the vacation home with practical, outdoor enthusiasts in mind; it’s small and simple but rustic and cozy. Just off Highway 330 and about a mile outside the town of Collbran, BaseCamp is a convenient starting point for all of your outdoor activities. The 800 sq. ft. building sits beside Plateau Creek, where you can fish, wade, or watch the wildlife. You'll have full and private access to BaseCamp during your stay. Most Collbran businesses close by 8 pm, so if you arrive late, bring necessary food and supplies with you.
If you prefer a vacation rental that is a bit more mountainous or an experience a little more rugged, we have three other vacation rentals that might suit your needs. One is a guest room built in a silo (The Silo), another is a hundred-year-old cabin (The Stagecoach Cabin), and the other is an outfitter's tent (Mossy Oaks Camp). All are listed on VRBO.
Disclosure: we have a doorbell camera that we access remotely on check out days (shows live feed only; no recording occurs). This helps us know when our guests leave so we can prioritize service on the days we have several rentals to clean. The camera is mounted on the small shed in front of the parking area.
