We stayed in Casa Rosa with a lovely terrace overlooking lake Como. The view was breath taking. They offer a free European breakfast, which was lovely.

Apartment was clean balcony had limited view of water - but great location. Breakfast was typical European breakfast . Good selection of pastries and food . I’d stay here again . Staff were helpful !

Great location
The apartment we stayed in was very nice and the amenities were good but we had to leave our luggage upstairs as the spiral staircase down to the bedroom and bathroom was very narrow. The bathroom looked new but there were lots of hairs on the floor when we arrived. The sofas and armchair upstairs could do with a good clean and the breakfast was average but the location is great and we generally enjoyed our stay here.

Amazing value
Amazing little hotel in an amazing little town on lake como. Highly recommend it. Great value. Pay the extra bit and get one of the four rooms that directly faces the lake.

Great stay at Albergo Mialno in Varenna. We were upgraded to a room with a lake view (free of charge). The room was pretty spacious and clean. There is a mini fridge and safe inside the room. Breakfast was really good and included in our booking. There are restaurants and shops as soon as you leave the hotel. I would stay here again!

Gorgeous view from apartment
We stayed in the studio apartment which is on the fourth floor of another building nearby the hotel. Great view on the patio, decent room, but it was a little cramped with three beds in there. Hotel front desk was friendly and let us check out a little late. When I come back I'll stay here again!

Beautiful B&B
Lake view. Patio. Cozy bed and comforter. Excellent service from staff. I was in the annex and they staff carried my luggage up/ down hilly walkway and lots of steps. Walked out the door and was a few feet from the water walkway and lots of restaurants. Easy access to boats for visit to other cities on the lake. Must stay! I would stay there again.

Great location. Great view from balcony. Welcoming staff. Room small buy fine for 1 night. Great shower. Very noisy when going to bed as kitchen still operational for dinner. Early breakfast was a lovely thought, just not executed that well (water in a thermos jug was cold for the tea, no milk for tea, croissants were dry, hard & past their use by date). Clutter in reception area (pile of books left of a on table) & our luggage left on show all afternoon for anyone to see - space could be area for hotel guests to buy a drink/coffee etc.

The Terrace/dining/reception area views was beautiful. Staff was nice enough. We had a room that was quite a long long way from the main couple of buildings and a long way back to the main area. Really rough walk with bags. People need to ask for main building area. 2 nights and no cleaning of room, no clean towels, no view.,

Not a good experience.
When we arrived they said we had to stay in a sister hotel so we had to walk and I had to carry my suit case all the way to the second location once there I was told that the room was on the top floor with a very steep stair and narrow hallway and no elevator, by the time I took my suit case up there I was sweating like a pig. No ac just a fan. After sleeping there my wife and I both felt our head and body was itching it was so bad that at 3am I was looking for another place to checkin. Service was ok but I didn't find them very friendly maybe is the culture. Anyway pay a little more and dont waste your time there.

The hardest part was finding the hotel and walking up the long steep steps to the property carrying your luggage. The property itself is charming, and the staff are pleasant and accommodating. Be prepared to climb stairs every day to your room. Just saying this so you're not surprised!

Partial view rooms not so good, and walls are thin
A great location, and endorsed/promoted by Rick Steves. I am sure that if you paid the extra $$$ for the lake side rooms it was a better experience. But the 'partial view' rooms are on the back of the building, and over a pedestrian walkway that can be very noisy. There are a lot of street lights back there and the curtains are pretty flimsy so you are lit up all night. But the worst part of the experience was the thin walls between rooms. My neighbor was a family with a toddler and they stayed up until 2AM talking, clunking around etc. No one is onsite at night so couldn't alert the manager. Not a good night for a light sleeper. Plenty of problems with wifi, and be aware that offseason the restaurant isn't open.

Wunderbarer Blick auf den See. Schönstes Dorf am Comersee. Zuvorkommendes Personal. Wissenswertes: Parkplatz liegt aufgrund engen Verhältnissen im Dorf ein paar Fussminuten entfernt. Unser Zimmer lag ein paar Gassen weiter vom Hotelgebäude entfernt. Enge Verhältnisse am Frühstücksbuffet. Dies hat uns alles nicht gestört und wir würden die Unterkunft jedem weiterempfehlen.

Avec vue sur le lac, l'endroit idéal
La casa rossa était superbe nous avions un balcon qui donnait sur le lac, c'était magique. La déco n'est pas ultra soignée mais c'est super propre et ultra bien entretenu. Le petit déjeuner est correct. L'accès est légèrement difficile avec les bagages mais ça vaut la peine. C'est vraiment une adresse à communiquer aux personnes désireuses de découvrir varenna dans d'excellentes conditions.

We did not stayed the hotel but the apartments. It was dark and living area not comfortable. Even though the weather was cold during the night, they did not allow us to use central heating boiler. Breakfast was average, the reception desk was helpful.
