The house was clean and comfortable and nicely decorated. It was well stocked and the beds were comfortable. The owner was responsive and helpful. The views of the lake were great and we enjoyed the dock and the back yard area with the fire pit and the nice grill. The location was convenient to several restaurants and grocery stores. We enjoyed our week and hope to return. Thank you Dean!

Great Place to Stay on False River
Beautiful VRBO rental. The beds were extremely comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and the living areas were comfy and had plenty of seating for our group of eight long time friends. I would highly recommend “Drake on the Lake” to anyone wanting a getaway on the River!

Beautiful False River Home
We greatly enjoyed our stay, the home has very comfortable beds and nice furnishings including a nice kitchen and grill. The pier was able to accommodate our boat and the swing, furnishings and fans are great. Beautiful sunsets can be enjoyed from the fire pit and pier. The water depth at the pier didn’t allow the kids to jump off the pier but the kayak is there for anyone to use and was nice to have. The driveway accommodates multiple cars. The owner is very accommodating and helpful and we would definitely return.

Thank you for the great review. The water at the gazebo is about 4 to 5 feet deep most of the time depending on rain. Please do not allow diving but kids still enjoy swimming and a dock ladder is provided to easily exit the water.

Drake on The Lake was everything in the listing, plus so much more! The beauty of the place is definitely exactly as the pictures represent, but the time spent on the covered wharf on the swing watching and listening to the birds and ducks was so relaxing! Dean Simon is also THE BEST property manager I’ve ever dealt with; so professional, prompt and friendly with answers to all questions!

The Drake on the Lake was absolutely beautiful! The layout of the house made it very comfortable having 11 of people there. The house was so clean and cozy, and the back porch was so big and nicely set up. We had a great stay!

The house was beautiful and spacious. Had everything we needed. Beautiful view and very relaxing. Dean was always available to answer questions. The only issue was the furniture on the dock/gazebo. It was full of spider webs and bird poop. I’d recommend that they check the deck before every rental.

Thanks for the great review. We have someone who checks the deck weekly, but sometimes there is so much wildlife activity that the birds and spiders come behind him. We have brushes and water out at the gazebo to rinse off if needed. We do turn off the water in the cold months of the year to keep water pipes from bursting.

Very Nice Lake House
My Niece was getting married, so my Family decided to make it a family vacation. We couldn't have made a better choice on a place to stay. The house was absolutely Beautiful. The view from the back porch were stunning! The grand kids caught fish from the dock. Everyone we met were very friendly and our host was incredibly. The house was beautiful, very clean and so comfortable! There was plenty of towels, bedding and dishes for all guests. No need to spend your time washing clothes and dishes The owners really did a great job by providing YouTube videos to explain how to use different items around the house such as the alarm system, the television and the gas grill. Dean was an awesome host, answering immediately when I had a couple of questions. The fishing was awesome and the deck was big enough for several people to fish. I would highly recommend Drake on the Lake for your next family getaway!

We had a great time at Drake on the Lake. The house was very clean and all the amenties was as advertised. We rented a boat on Saturday and had a great time on the water as well. It was nice to access the property from the boat and vice versa. Definitely putting this location on my return list.

That house was great! We had everything we needed. The only draw back was the water level. There was grass growing under the dock because the water was so low. Still beautiful but didn't expect there to be no water at the property.

Thank you for the kind words about the lake house. We understand your disappointment about the water level. The problem is extreme now due to the drawdown that happens about every four years in the fall/winter but never in the spring and summer. We have no control over the water level. We place a warning about the water level in the description on the VRBO listing: LAKE WATER LEVELS (Currently, there is very low water due to a drawdown by Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries. The drawdown will end on December 15th, 2022) We have no control over the water level of False River lake, and the water around the gazebo dock can be shallow at times for swimming. Please seek knowledge of any plans by local, parish, or state government to alter the water level or a drawdown of the lake during your stay on-premises. No refunds will be made due to the water level.

This was the perfect destination for a relaxing couples getaway. We loved the outdoor area and enjoyed the fire pit with the cold weather we had while there. Drake on the lake is only minutes from wonderful restaurants and shops.

Beautiful clean home! We were oh so bummed there wasn’t any water in the lake. We were unaware and looked forward to the view! We had a great time on our mom's getaway! The home was beautifully decorated, beds were very comfortable, great spacious kitchen for preparing meals, and large dining room was great for not only eating but for playing games. Our favorite spot though was the screened in porch. Highly recommend this property. The owner is very quick to respond to questions and provided us with restaurant suggestions etc as well. Would definitely book it again.
