“Great hotel! Lovely Accommodations!”
Loved this hotel!
“Elegant hotel!”
We had a pleasant experience at the Fairfax hotel. The front desk clerk was very friendly and upgraded our room to a specious high-floor corner unit. The room was clean and at night they had turn down service. The staff was courteous and ready to help. The hotel also offered 24-hour In-room dinning. There is really no need for a car if you plan to stay in such location. There are taxis in front of the hotel, there's also the metro station. (The hotel charges a nightly rate valet) Taxi fare around the city is anywhere very reasonable so is the metro fare. The location of the hotel was very convenient. It was located one block from the DuPont Circle. The metro station was on the circle as well as the "City Tour Hop-on-hop off" bus stop. There were number of good restaurants within the walking distance (Le Pain Quotidian, Starbucks, Italian restaurant "La Tomate", French restaurant "Bistro Bistro", Subway restaurant, Five guys, etc... There was also a CVS pharmacy on the circle. We enjoyed our stay :)
“Very nice”
The only complaint about the hotel is the charge for the wi-fi connection in the room. Seems a little steep. Otherwise the hotel waas beautiful, well located, excellent customer service and very comfortable.
“Good Room”
My only issue was that the hotel didn't have lots of amenities.
“Great service. Great location.”
This was a great stay due to the very clean and well-appointed room, the excellent and friendly staff, and the very reasonable rates. Location was easy walking distance to many things including metro.
“Great weekend family getaway”
Loved this hotel for a family DC getaway. The room with 2 queens was huge, very comfortable beds and awesomely helpful staff. Beautiful traditionally styled hotel was 'extra fancy' for my kids. Loved the location - a few blocks from Dupont circle meant that the metro and an abundance of great restaurants were minutes away. Breakfast at the hotel was crazy expensive (and the buffet was underwhelming) - instead, I recommend the bakery/restaurant Le Pain Quotidien just two blocks away. It's a very easy metro ride down to the museums and Capital - that's half the fun for my kids. If you're in a hurry, it's a $15 cab ride w/tip.
“Charming room, very clean and very quiet”
I am a very picky with hotels. Just ask my family. I have been known to see several rooms before I am happy; this hotel did not disappoint at all. My first and only room was charming and very nice. Beds were comfortable, bedding top of the line - quite elegant, bathroom a nice size with great toiletries. Not a big lobby but that is the only thing I can think of that was not impressive. Not a great view out the window would be another negative, it overlooked another part of the hotel, but really that's not really a good reason to complain. I highly recommend this hotel. Very quiet also.
“Like an older Ritz”
Charming and warm. Felt like an older Ritz Carlton. Area was nice and convenient for walking to restaurants and shopping. Room was spacious, nice and very clean. Employees were friendly and went out of the way to accomodate.
“Great hotel”
We stayed in this hotel over a weekend and were pleasantly surprised. From the parking attendant saving us some money, to the friendly staff, to the nearly regal appearance of the rooms, to the well equipped gym, we were delighted with our stay. Georgetown and Dupont circle are both nearby, allowing for some great walking opportunities in the city as well. I look forward to my next trip to DC, and hope I'll have the opportunity to stay here again.
“Impressive location, embassies all around, we walked to everywhere”
One of the best places we ever stayed. Smarter choice than the burbs of VA & MD. $40/day to park, but did not need Metro and woke up in the middle of everything each day. Local restaurants pricey, try Scion for casual meals 1 block away on 21st St turning right out of the hotel. DuPont Circle 2-3 blocks away, CVS, cafe style eats (expensive) but all we tried were very good. Try McDonald's on M Street just 5 or so blocks away for affordable breakfast or snack meal. Staff was great, helpful and upbeat, full of local area knowledge.
