Beautifully Decorated in a Beautiful Environment
This was a perfect property for us. The location with great views was matched by the character and quality of the inside furniture and attention to design details. It also had a very well appointed kitchen, better quality than in the usual rental. All in all, a place to soothe the nerves.

Perfect for us!
The house was great for us - we used all the different spaces and particularly enjoyed eating in the glass room with the doors open and the evening breeze coming through. I appreciated that the kitchen had everything we needed, that the spaces were all appealing & comfortable, and that Alex was extremely responsive to my questions. We were a party of six adults and never felt cramped. Highly recommended!

Great quiet getaway
This is a great place to enjoy a real getaway. Plenty of things to do in nearby towns. But a wonderfully quiet retreat with great views. I went for long runs each morning and in 3 days of running I managed to see only one car pass by.

Beautiful historic farmhouse
This was just what we needed for a quiet weekend visit to Rutland. The photos online don't do it justice, for the views from the hilltop are wonderful, especially at sunset and sunrise. We enjoyed cozy fires each night, and there was plenty of room for our family to spread out and have privacy when we needed it.

AWESOME
This was our second visit to this property and we love it. The home is warm and cozy with a great heating system and a super nice wood burning stove. The house is decorated beautifully and the beds and other furnishings are comfortable and nicely appointed. The house is well stocked with all the basics and then some. The views from the house and grounds surrounding this gem are fantastic and so serene. We will be sure to book again for next year's ski season with the house being in close proximity to several ski areas. Thank you Alex for sharing your beautiful home with us.

Beautiful & peaceful stay
We had a comfortable stay in Alex’s charming farmhouse. House is close to pico and killington where our family was skiing. Close to hiking trails. Beautiful, peaceful location. House furnishings and decor reminded us of an English style house. The farmhouse and location must be beautiful in all seasons. We would love to return in summer and fall to experience the house and area. Owner is very responsive. Highly recommend Alex’s property for your stay.

Perfect getaway!
My husband and I decided at the last minute to book a quick anniversary trip to Vermont. We wanted to escape the southern heat and have a chance to experience some cool fall weather. We picked this beautiful historic home and from the moment we secured the booking, we knew it was going to be perfect. The owner, Alex, was extremely communicative and quick to respond to my many questions. We flew into Boston and rented a car to drive north. Alex reached out to inquire about our time of arrival so that the home would be prepared with the correct lighting to avoid having to feel lost in a dark house. We walked in and fell in love with the home instantly. It looked and smelled so clean and everything was in its place. Alex had even prepared a beautiful surprise bottle of wine and dessert for our anniversary! Such a nice touch! I loved looking at all the antiques, pictures, and decor. Very tastefully decorated and it felt comfortable, not cluttered or over crowded. It was only the two of us so we slept in the upstairs queen bedroom. The bed was so comfortable and we both slept soundly. I loved that the bathrooms were updated and modern with enough lighting to get ready any time of day. The wonderfully smelling Dorset Daughters soaps and lotions reminded me of the scent I found in Ireland, so refreshing! I had forgotten my hairdryer but Alex had a really nice brand in a box under the cabinet! He really did think of everything! We took many road trips throughout our stay and Alex was quick to provide recommendations for restaurants or other activities in the towns we visited. In the evening, we sat outside in the chairs by the pond to stargaze and we have never seen so many stars in our lives! Alex never seemed to mind my countless texts and really helped make our quick trip to VT a success!! Guests, during your stay, if you are hungry, be sure to check out Sweet Caroline's, Mary's Cafe, and Roots for locally sourced cuisine. If you are in for a beautiful drive on winding country roads head north to Montpelier, on to Stowe, west to Burlington by Lake Champlain, and Shelburne stopping by the Shelburne Museum for a cultural treat! Thank you Alex!!

Perfect location for weekend of basketball
We were in the area for a basketball tournament and this was perfectly located between all the gyms. House was roomy and great for evening family dinners and lunches. We even went for a Sunday morning run on the rail trail! I believe that they just got all new dishes, silverware and glasses in the kitchen. So pretty and clean!

Perfect for visiting local area
We were in the area for a basketball tournament. The location was perfect for getting to the gyms. We were able to have all our meals in the house. The kitchen had everything we needed. The house was very clean and the beds were comfortable no squeaky bed frames and super soft sheets and blankets! This is a old farm house with lots of farm house charm but the bathrooms have been completely updated and are beautiful! The location is in the country on a quiet road. I went for a wonderful run on the backroads!

Got the job done
Overall, the stay was great - lots of space, fully equipped kitchen and the property manager was very responsive. Around 30 mins away from Okemo (so a little far but still doable). We got a snow storm while we were there and they have someone who clears the driveway so we could get out. I would only like to note that there isn’t direct heat upstairs so it is colder up there but they provided plenty of blankets!
