We stayed for one night when visiting Zurich and found the location convenient (close to train station and tram stops), easily walkable, quiet, and safe. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was lovely - clean and spacious for the family. We had a small balcony that overlooked the area neighborhood, which we all enjoyed. Overall, it was a fantastic stay.

Swiss Getaway
We did a 1 day stay at the hotel as a stop for our trip through rest of Switzerland. The room was clean, well furnished. The breakfast Buffett was excellent. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. Hotel is near a tram station and I recommend getting the day use pass for trams. You can get that from reception. Will definitely stay again

A pleasant & quiet hotel in Zurich
A pleasant and quiet hotel at a reasonable distance from the city center and the lake. The method of charging for breakfast about 25% more than at the time of booking is completely unacceptable, as well as the practice of not allowing days with and days without breakfast - will prevent me from returning to the hotel in the future

We had an amazing vacation visiting Zürich. This hotel was amazing. From great location, walking distance to main things to clean great rooms, over the top friendly staff, delicious breakfast, lovely view.

Its a nice hotel with good proximity to Zurich Lake. Breakfast is very nice and staff were attentive. Nothing other than a tennis court, so best to go walking if you want exercise. A nice quiet place.

We stayed 4 nights at the Engimatt as a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 teen boys). The location of the hotel was great for us: close to the city center but in a quieter, more residential neighborhood. It's a quick and easy tram ride to Zurich HB....it's also walking distance from the Zurich Enge station where there are direct trains to Lucerne and other popular destinations. The Sihl City mall is nearby, including a large Coop grocery store and many restaurant options. The family room was perfect: a double bed and 2 individual twin beds. Staff were very friendly and helpful, including the front desk as well as the breakfast. Breakfast was excellent: lots of hot and cold options. The room includes a small fridge as well as a coffee maker. We enjoyed the patio off of our room: it faced a garden area with trees and was a nice spot to relax after a day of sightseeing. Overall we highly recommend Engimatt and would gladly stay again on a future visit to Zurich.

4-star no more!
The room was very outdated, the bathroom was clean but getting in and out of the bath was almost dangerous! (Definitely for elderly people). The shower head was small throwing water in all directions. Also, using shower curtain is unacceptable for a 4-star hotel such as the Enigmatt is supposedly rated. To sum up, maybe 4 stars in the past, not today. And one more thing, the fact that we booked the room via Hotels.com does not necessarily have to mean that you should place us at the worst room in the house (first floor adjacent to the elevator). If you don’t want Hotels.com customers then simply don’t offer a room on the website. This custom should stop!

Quiet and Relaxing
Love the location away from Old Zurich and the tourists, but still only a 15 minute walk if you want to go to Lake Zurich and tourist sites.

The garden for breakfast is so restful. The staff are just great. Multilingual, helpful. At this hotel you feel like you are getting genuine personal service.

Staff is professional, knowledgeable and courteous. The property was renovated and modern with excellent air conditioners due to the excessive heat. If I had a complaint, I would say the hotel is a little isolated from the tourist attractions.The main shopping/restaurants take at least 15 minutes to get there by reliable/regular trams.
