Great location, wonderful staff (shout out to Martin who helped whenever needed). Quiet room upgraded to face the river- perfect. Breakfast could be better. But it was okay. Baked goods not buttery— supplied by the nearby Lidl?— and not much choice of cheese, no fish. But adequate and we found it was extremely easy to get around town from this hotel.

No one could figure out where the front door was, it was almost humorous. The hotel was very nice.

We enjoyed our room. It’s a tricky hotel to enter if you have luggage because you have to haul it up some steps. When we checked in we were instructed to go down the stairs and through the lounge to get to our elevator. When we asked if there was an elevator to bring us down so we didn’t have to haul our luggage down a bunch of stairs, we were told no. So it wasn’t a good first Impression. Our room itself was lovely and they have late night room service which we found very convenient. The next day someone else was working reception and was instructing a new group how to access the elevators down to the lounge as they were in the same wing as us. So I think it was the person who checked us in that didn’t give us that option even though there were two of us and 5 suitcases. We managed though and after that we did enjoy our stay.

The view of the River Clyde from our room was enjoyable and the room was well appointed. Parking was a hassle. We decided to use Uber to get around because nothing was walkable from the hotel other than a mall. The area was a bit sketchy with noise outside all night. The noise was noticable because I had to open the window for some cool air. The thermostat was either broken or non-functional and the room was boiling hot. We waited for a few hours in the lobby for our room to be ready. I would not choose to stay here again.

Reception team, bar and breakfast made the visit a pleasure. The design of the building is very appealing based around the magnificent old Customs House. I like that it is not a rectangular box. It means you do need to think before heading for the lift to get to the upper rooms. One sign could be improved. Not keen on self check in machines. It means you can't verify if you do have the room with double bed and single...I'm pretty sure human interaction will help vet who is going into these properties. It maybe fine if you are on business with standard double room and you've been there before but not if anything more complicated. The property is located near Glasgow Central Station so it's going to be a bit interesting around the hotel. Still, a bit of an eye opener. The local government/council haven't done anything to help here. E.g. Graffiti covering the prime riverside area in front of the hotel, which the council have done nothing about, never mind the state of the nearby underpass beneath the station. None of this should impact the Hotel review, they've made the area better. It is excellent. Well done. The stain is on local government for ignoring this part of town for the last decade and more.

Awful experience. Nice rooms but that’s about it. I contacted the hotel directly prior to our arrival to confirm dietary requirements and request menus to ensure suitability for our stay. Based on the information provided we continued with our hotel booking. On arrival we were disappointed to find out the menus were not the ones provided when I contacted the hotel 1 week earlier. One awful vegetarian option in the main restaurant and no children’s menu whatsoever. We decided not to dine at the restaurant. We tried to dine in the hotel bar. Again No children’s menu for my daughter, we asked for a pizza which was offered in the room service menu but we were advised my child couldn’t have this unless it was after 2300 hours. So we ordered food for 2 adults and ordered a pizza from Pizza Hut for my daughter so she could eat. I asked if this was ok, management advised I 3 times they would only allow this once. In the end I said we are only staying one night to stop the repeated “only once”. What kind of hotel doesn’t offer a children’s menu? It felt criminal trying to get a pizza for my child so she could have dinner. Regrettably I booked this hotel, had I of known this information prior we would not of wasted any money on what should have been a family treat. Instead it was a nightmare, we didn’t feel welcome so we would definitely not recommend this hotel to anybody.
