Pretty good resort but does require a little bit of renovations, owners are amazing and for this price it's hard to find anything else. Have horses, chickens, parrots on site. Amazing experience

Very disappointing stay
The manager was very rude and hung up on me when I call for them to pick us up at the train station as advertised via Hotels.com it cost me 35€ for a 5 minute taxi ride. Later when I talked to the owner he reimbursed the 35€ after much discussion. It seems to be family owed the manager is the mother and the son is the owner. On Hotels.com it says English speaking, but just the son can speak english. Also no food after breakfast, just potato chips and peanuts. It was off season when we went there December and into the New Year. Just be prepared if you go to this hotel much better to rent a car to get around, no real taxis available.

Amazing hotel
This amazing hotel is really a catch. We book it in mid April because we the amazing view pictures. In reality is was great. We even spend half a day sitting near the lake. The stuff was really helpful. This place is really recommended!

Pearl in Tuscany!
When we so this hotel it seems to good to be true. Such hotel with such a view at amazing price. We decide to book it and I have to say, it was amazing. The stuff is really nice, and gave us some good advices. The room was really great... But the lake... The view was so nice and calm that we change our planes and spend half a day sitting near the lake and eating late lunch that we bought. So, to sum it up... I can only recommend this hotel to everyone. BTW, we stayed in mid April.

Pleasant and enjoyable stay
We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel del Lago. The hosts couldn't have been kinder, and the common room with an open fire is ideal for relaxing in the winter after a day out exploring the beautiful surroundings (Chianti hills first and foremost). The hotel's heating is centralised: they can't turn it on for one room without turning it on for the whole building, and that can lead to some problems if you're the only guest in the hotel. However, the owners gave us an electric heater which did the job very well. The only possible improvement I can think of is the tea selection, which at the moment is limited to "Tè Ati".

An interesting hotel with perhaps 50 rooms on a large reservoir - quiet location and average breakfast included. the walls were thin and we could hear the next neighbour. Cordial staff but little english spoken

We sadly only stayed one short night here, but it was so beautiful! The rooms aren't super fancy but they are quaint and cute. It's a typical Italian bathroom where the shower is just a head in the wall...but the pressure was great. The family running the hotel was so nice and accommodating. Its beautifully situated on a cute little lake and only 10 mins off the freeway. I hope to go back one day and spend a couple of days just hanging out. Its a perfect place to go relax a bit.

Off the beaten track.
The staff was friendly and accommodating. They spoke no English, but we managed to communicate when needed just fine. The breakfast was very good and was included in the price. Each table was served upon arrival in the dining room and the bread, cheese and salami were cut just before serving, along with a variety of fresh pastries. Fresh cappacinno was made and refilled on request. The only drawback was just a shower head on the wall which wet the entire floor while showering. I would still recommend this Hotel.

Good value for the area. The owners don't speak English, but they are very friendly and have enough signage to make the stay go over quite easily. The room was comfortable, the breakfast was good, and the service was great!

Great on a budget and if travelling alone.
A boutique hotel it is not, however Hotel del Lago has other bonuses. Namely price and location to the designer outlets. The staff are actually really lovely when you get to know them a little, although you'll have to make an effort to speak in Italian as english is limited. I am a woman who often stays there alone, when I go on my shopping jaunts. I have done for over 6 years. I can't praise it enough. I always feel safe and secure. The Taverna del Lago up the road is also a hidden gem. Full of locals with authentic Tuscan fare. What you save in money you can always spend at Space, the Prada outlet! Kindly note: it is a few hours drive from Pisa airport, way south of Florence, but once you get the hang of where you're going (head for Roma and turn off at Incisa), you'll be fine.

Hotel is fine, but it is quite remote and doesn't have many facilities, so best as a base for travelling rather than somewhere to stay for a few days of sun.

Relax at Del Lago
If you are driving this place would be ok since you can move around asotherwise you will be stuck since accessibilty to Florence would be difficult,why, going around would be at the mercy of the Hotel but the staffs are friendly and helpful.But that will not help if you want to get going!

You get what you pay for.
Scenic enough location on the lakeside. Reasonable breakfast. Bathroom had a smell of sewage but that may just have been a temporary problem in fairness. Fine as a stopover or base for exploring but I wouldn't be planning on hanging out at the hotel. Friendly staff, even though they don't really speak english.
