I enjoyed my recent stay at the Life Hotel and was pleasantly surprised by the size of the room, the cleanliness of the facility, the friendly staff and the small but well appointed gym. The hotel is convenient to Penn Station, subway stations, restaurants and shopping, which puts it in an almost perfect location to get around Manhattan. I’ll admit, I was disappointed that despite the large room, there was neither a mini fridge nor a coffee maker which are pretty standard in any hotel in Europe. There was a nice cafe in the lobby run by a friendly barista, plus many other coffee shops in close walking distance. I’ll happily stay at the Life again I’ll just make sure to pack my Nespresso machine too!

Perfect location for walking around Manhatten. Lovely to come back to a clean and comfortable room each night. The beds are very comfy! Not far to walk to subway or Penn station for getting to airports. Would definitely recommend this hotel, thanks for a great stay!

I like the decoration of the property. it has history of the life magazine. I like the combination of the brass and hard wood floors. There's still work to do. The lounge is nice but not finished. Looking forward for it to have the bar and dining open.

We booked pretty last minute so we undoubtedly got what is probably the least desirable room. It was in the back on the first floor so no natural light and low ceilings. The room was nice otherwise. The renovation is fun with an industrial period feel. The lobby is designed to be a bar/lounge but it was empty/non operational. I was frustrated and the added fee charged AT the hotel - apparently a NYC tax which had been part of the original total Expedia presented. I thought initially it was ON TOP of the already pricey cost.
