The property was beautiful - some of the staff was attentive. RIU should consider using a better shuttle service, they don't reply to your emails when you need to make changes, the other people in our group had to pay for their shuttle because their flight was delayed. Destination Services should definitely do better.

Enjoyed our stay. It’s a beautiful property. Food wasn’t the best I’ve had, but it very much caters to Europeans. Had a little stomach trouble at the end, but I did try all the foods and drank water and ice - although it’s supposed to be filtered.

Property was very nice. Pools were great. Beach was nice. Plenty of activities. Food was good, not great. But plenty of variety, and the restaurants do offer a better option if you can get a table. Overall, very good experience. Would definitely recommend staying here.

The environment is very beautiful, food is great, the service is awesome. If the rooms could be updated to match the exterior this place would be a true paradise. My kids said they couldn’t wait to get home to use the bathroom at home. The rooms were so hot and stuffy when we first checked in. My brothers’ room smelled moldy. They had to leave the balcony door open to air the room.

The facility violated ADA code (it was not wheelchair/stroller accesible). The elevators were out of service during our stay. The staff was not helpful about the situation. Dismissive staff and poor customer service.

The room was very neglected. The shower was broken, and a complaint was made at the reception. When the technician arrived, he informed us that we needed to replace the valve and the entire system, which couldn't be done at that time. The bedding had remnants of paint, as did the furniture, and the walls were freshly painted; we ended up getting paint on our hands. There was no soap, shampoo, or conditioner in the bathroom, and the sink was broken. When we requested a room change, we were informed that the hotel was fully booked. Additionally, we were turned away twice at the restaurants, despite being told at check-in that reservations weren't necessary. To make matters worse, at the buffet, my daughter burned her arm while picking up food. IN CONCLUSION, THIS VACATION WAS A DISASTER."

The property is nice, looks almost exactly like the Riu Tropical Bay in Jamaica. The same layout and restaurants. I guess its the same for most all Riu resorts. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. The Japanese restaurant, the buffet and steakhouse are really good. Krystal is good as well. There are no reservations so unless you are there at 6pm you will be waiting. I think the dinner attire needs to be strongly communicated, lots out everywhere👀...this is not the beach, its dinner!. English is hard to come by, mostly everyone speaks spanish a good percentage of the guests too. So keep that in mind, when trying to ask for things in english the staff appeared to be frustrated. We went on an excursion to Santo Domingo, the bus was full $100 each and no english for an 8 hour day. I should have confirmed this first. We missed most all of the details as a result. Bring everything aloe vera, cough drops, cold meds, etc. We needed cough medicine and it was $17 for a regular size bottle. Toothbrushes are the same price.

We loved our stay at Riu Palace Punta Cana. The room was clean, the grounds were kept nicely. The beach and swim up bar were amazing! The satff was very nice and the buffett food was always on point! Of course the Riu parties were amazing!!

Worst vacation ever. Rooms sucked. Our first room's AC didnt work, then we found a bunch of ants and it got all over my new laptop. I asked for a room change and staff told me "its just ants, cleaners will clean it"; all they did was wipe it with a cloth. I didnt pay to sleep with ants and a broken AC. They moved us to another room, this one was missing a TV. Third times the charm right? No, the AC was dripping water all over the floor. Food was incredibly bad. Room service was the worst, they only have a club sandwich or vegetarian sandwich and two types of salad to choose from, and they were all disgusting. The fruits smelled rotten and old, the nachos are what you'd get at a gas station. The only decent food was during dinner service that only runs from 6pm-9pm, but even then you sit there for an hour to wait for your appetizer. Pools are mediocre at best. They have 3 pools: a bar pool 3ft deep; a volleyball pool 4ft deep; and a regular pool 4ft deep. There were dead bugs all over the pool, they dont seem to bother to clean it. The beach would be beautiful if it wasnt littered with dead seaweed all over. The water park is a 10 minute walk away from the resort, there is no shuttle going to it. Good luck walking in the intense heat. In conclusion, not worth it. Even the locals said RIU sucks, they recommend secrets. We couldnt wait to leave the place, save yourself the trouble and money. Also 3 of us got covid while we were there, so thats cool..

I loved this property! The staff was on point, food was amazing, beach was nice! Riu party was lit and they even have pacha the night club. So many activities. My only complaint would be the bathroom in the rooms are moldy! Our shower was oldy and so was the toilet. But nonetheless the room was clean and the property overall was clean!
