Cohune Palms River Cabanas: Private river cabanas just 2.5 mi from San Ignacio

The Hummingbird Cabana is the perfect respite - set under the shady palms and close to the river catching all the breeze. The hummingbird has a queen bed, two twin beds in a loft, and a full private bathroom with hot water.
Set apart from the village on a peninsula of the Mopan River, Cohune Palms is blessed with cool river breezes and a jungle setting. Being on the river and under gigantic palm trees certainly makes it feel far away from town - but the best part is that it is conveniently located just 2.5 miles outside of San Ignacio and is easily reached by taxi.
While resting in one of the hammocks, swimming in the river, jumping off the rope swing, or watching iguanas and howler monkeys can all be done at Cohune Palms, most are here for the great many adventures waiting to be had in the area - visiting archaeological sites, exploring the famous ATM cave, ziplining, visiting waterfalls and butterfly farms, horseback riding, floating the river, cave tubing or birdwatching.
Cohune Palms is an excellent base for the wide variety of tours and explorations in western Belize. All tours are easily arranged either by us or directly by you with one of the tour companies in San Ignacio. These can be booked in advance or we can call them in the day before at no extra cost. They all pick up and drop off at our place every day so no need to worry about transportation arrangements.
Our restaurant features local and international cuisine, as well as local beer, wine and cocktails, and we are happy to cater to guests’ dietary and time preferences, serving breakfast as early as needed for timely departures on day trips.
We have free parking and can also arrange for transportation to and from the Belize City airport, the water taxi, or other areas of interest in Belize.

Great Jungle Location
We looked forward to sitting on the deck each morning overlooking the Mopan River with a cup of coffee and listening to the jungle wildlife as the sun came up. Breakfast was always delicious with fresh, local ingredients prepared by an amazing chef. The location of this property is perfect for accessing all of the things to do and see near San Ignacio!

jungle paradise
We absolutely loved every minute of our stay at Cohune Palms. Our cabana was charming and cozy; the location on the river was ideal and absolutely gorgeous; and the food prepared by Melanie and Joelle was delicious! We relaxed on the decks, did yoga over the water and floated on tubes in the warm river, taking in the sights and sounds of the jungle. It was an easy drive to San Ignacio and the ruins so we never felt rushed or out of the way but it was secluded and felt like our own private retreat. We hope to return soon!
