"Good comms on the phone before I arrived. Kindly suggested that I park at the secure NCP car park next door as there had been some theft recently, which was cheap enough. The room I was given had been smoked in (not the hotels fault) - the guys on the reception immediately swapped me to another room with no quibbling which was great. Hotel could do with a couple of touch ups, but it was clean and friendly and an absolute bargain compared to other options. Very good breakfast too"

"This hotel is really good value for money. The rooms were spacious and clean, the beds were comfortable and there was free WiFi. The views from our window weren’t great (we were overlooking a large grey flat roof and a building site) but that’s not what I was paying for so it didn’t bother me. The check-in was fast and efficient however I was hit with a £30 refundable deposit per room (I’d booked two rooms) which wasn’t an issue for me in the long run but I don’t recall being made aware of that at the time of booking which I think would have been nice to know prior to arriving. The breakfast buffet was superb! There was a lot of variety, the food was great quality and really tasty and the staff members kept on top of things to keep things clean and topped up. The hotel was around a 10-15 min walk from the main shopping and food area of the city but it was easily found with the help of maps. I would certainly stay here again if I happen to be in Sheffield again! "

"This is my second visit to this hotel. Everything was spot on and I have no complaints at all. Great value for money, very clean. Super comfy bed. Lovely breakfast with lots of choice. Friendly staff, especially the lady at breakfast who I have met before. Love it that you are pet friendly. Everyone welcome! 5 stars. "

"Our favourite Sheffield hotel, at the moment. It is set in a beautiful location on the quayside but still easy to walk to the city centre. Cars are safe in the carpark at a reasonable rate - £8.00 for 24 hours. Our room was amazing and had 2 double beds with a bath/ shower and tea making facilities/ iron & ironing board. We also had a balcony with table and chairs overlooking the canal. Everything was clean and check in was easy. We didn’t eat in the restaurant, as we couldn’t see any vegan options on the menu but the wonderful True Love bar on the quayside had a fabulous vibe and a perfect pizza menu. Breakfast at the hotel catered above and beyond our needs and all staff were so accommodating and went the extra mile. We loved every minute and although there is building work going on at the hotel at the moment, it didn’t affect us at all. We’ll definitely be back. Thank you Quayside Best Western. "

"I swore to myself that I wouldn't use another ibis hotel after a horrendous stay in a Birmingham one many years ago. However I needed a hotel near to an event I was going to and because I'd left it late my usual hotel was full. It was only for one night so I figured I could cope with it. Yes, it was basic (clue in the name), but it was clean and the bed was comfy. I was expecting more noise later on but this was minimal and I was only woken up once. I was on my own so there was ample room just for me, not sure if there would be if there couples or families (single bunk bed over the double). "
