Marriott Los Angeles Downtown

Very nice

The Marriott in Downtown LA is a good example of what all Marriotts should and from my experience are, clean, accomdating and very nice overall.

Valet Parking A+, Hotel Service B-

To start off I was really impressed with the way Valet Parking treated me, I have been to other hotels and the service has been good, but these people were just exceptional; they were attentive, responsive and very courteous. The lady at the front desk was alright, other than there was a sense of a condescending attitude since we weren’t there usual 30+ crowd (She probably didn’t expect us to be there.) The room was perfect, clean, comfortable beds. The only problem was the next morning, I forgot to pack toothpaste and courteously requested some from front desk , they said it should be up in no time.. i waited almost an hour and the item requested didn;t arrive before I left the room. Valet parking at exit once again were great!

Perfect for LA Sports Enthusiants

Right downtown LA. Blocks from the Stapels Center and very close to USC. We stay each time we travel for a late game. 4***** all the way.

So strange hotel

They do not serve a bottel of water. Also there is no bottel of water in the vending mucine.

Great place to stay

I don’t generally write reviews, but I must say that the hotel lobby was well maintained, and so was the room. My only issue with the room was the condition of the carpet. It wasn’t awful, but it had some wear and tear. But if that’s my only complaint about the hotel, then I think that is pretty good. It’s about a mile to the convention center, but its a quick, safe walk... but I wouldn’t do it too late at night. There’s a lot in the area, or a quick cab ride away. The hotel staff was incredibly friendly and offers great suggestions on where to go and what to do in the area surrounding. Props to them on their excellent service.

It was a wonderful, relaxing experience. I loved the comfort and the expansive view. It was an elegant hotel oriented to adults, and I imagine, to business travelers. I enjoyed very much the pool and its surroundings. A great shape.

Good up to;

My wife and I live in the LA area and in 40+ years have never been tourist in out own city. So we set out for a tour of the city, a very nice dinner and a show to top it off. We arrived at the hotel and were very pleased by the service and cleanliness of a place downtown. The rooms were comfortable and clean. Drinks were expensive poolside (about $10 ea) I dropped off a bottle of champagne at guest service and asked if they could set it up in our room during the show. I was in such a rush I forgot to tip the guest attendant. Well we came back to a warm bottle, no ice and no glasses, quite a disappointment. During the morning hours a couple were going at it in the hallway and it sounded like the argument was in our room. But other than that it was a great room nice view of the city and just a nice place to relax, amazingly next to the 110 freeway, who’d of thought?

Friendly Staff

Waiter in Hotel restaurant remembered me and what I ordered the previous day. Offered a take-out coffee when I left. All staff in restaurant very friendly and professional. Ditto for Valet parking.

A bit frustrating

The hotel has fewer rooms with double beds than most other hotels. When we checked in, there were no rooms with double beds and only one king bed. They also did not have any roll away beds available for us. I understand there was a big event happening that weekend, but being a hotel close to the convention center, they should be more prepared for this. Another issue is the parking. The parking and valet are a separate company from the hotel and charge $30/day. If you choose not to park your car at the hotel, but need to park temporarily to check in or bring your luggage to your room, they hassle you and charge you after 10 minutes. When I explained to the hotel front desk that I was treated rudely for just wanting to check in and bring my luggage to my room, they said there wasn’t anything they could do since it was a different company.

Impressed with the service.. definitely will go back.

The service provided by the staff in this hotel was very good! They accommodated our needs.. for instance, the room had no refrigerator nor microwave for us to use. We called them to see if there was a pantry around that we can use. With no questions asked, they immediately brought up to our room a microwave and refrigerator for us to use for our whole stay... truly impressive. They also do a great job in maintaining the cleanliness of our room every single day while we were there. If you have any problems with transportation, or anything, just call the front desk and they’re more than happy to help you. The staff were very warm and friendly. All in all, our stay at Los Angeles Dowtown Marriott was excellent. We had no regrets choosing this hotel for our CA trip. We highly recommend it to travelers out there!

Great beds!

Our bed was amazing. Very clean room, good service, very nice hotel over all for a very reasonable price. I love downtown LA and I will definitely stay there again.

Heart of the city

We wanted to be right in the heart of downtown LA and to explore the cultural neighbors nearby. The area around the hotel was safe and clean. Despite the 110 running right next to the hotel, it was peaceful when in the room, in the lobby and even by the pool.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

The DASH bus goes around the downtown area for $0.25 and is a great way to see the neighborhoods like Chinatown, Little Tokyo and the Fashion District.

Enjoyed my stay. The only complaint is the beds wre not very comfortable.With in walking distance of Garment District. Short drive to Dodger Stadium.Nice swimming pool,clean and relaxing.

Fine downtown location for the price on a weekend for us OC locals. Within walking distance to several other good locations. Suggest parking across the street to avoid high parking rates at hotel.

Traveler's tip for business travelers

This was the first time I used a shuttle to get down town from LAX. I recommend the savings on the wallet and the speed by which I got there. I probably saved two hours in traffic had I taken a taxi. The staff at the hotel were right there for me from beginning to end.

Extremely comfortable

I stayed on the 8th floor looking out at the World Trade Ctr. view. I could see fireworks one night coming from Dodger Stadium. The beds were very comfortable and topped with a down comforter covered with crisp white coverlets that were washed daily ( no "who’s been doing what on them" bedspreads). I had a great stay here!

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Two tips: The Water Grill is extremely expensive but fabulous if you can afford a great meal out... Cut cost on the breakfast by taking the catwalk from the Marriott to the World Trade Center(WTC) where Monday through Friday you can get a cheap breakfast/lunch inside the WTC building. Or, once in the WTC go up the escalater to the next catwalk which takes you to another hotel with a food court for more reasonbably priced food any day of the week.

Nice Deal

Hotel is clean, nice and has in the center of LA. The fitness room is small but sufficient. Food was also okay.
