Very Nice Stay

Nice place, Loved it, It was very relaxing. Did not get our complimentary breakfast, because it was moved and they failed to inform me. I got an email but they never responded to it. other than that it was great.

Good option - great location

Grand Champions facility is located in the best place in Maui (Wailea), very close to the beach, you can walk from the hotel and get there in 5 minutes going thru a walkway bordering a golf court. The rooms are confortable with all the basic needs covered (kitchen appliances, laundry, cable TV, phone and lots of towels) Overall a good option, bottom line, next time we travel to Maui, we are going back to Grand Champions.

Question Condition of The Condo at Wailea Grand Champions Maui

Condition of condo was tired! Blinds needed replacement; Condo not painted on the inside since it was built; furniture was tired and dirty, rugs were dirty; bed spread was filthy and didn’t look like it had ever been washed; silk floral arrangements were very dirty, tired and needed to be thrown out; toilet seats needed replacement. Called the managment company and took them two days to return my call. They offered to put me in another room but I questioned to condition of that room.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

I did like the complex. Not my first time staying in Wailea, so was shocked at the condition of the room for the money that we paid. Question the condition of the rooms by calling Management before booking here.

Great alternative to Hotels

Nice quiet condo in Wailea close to hotels golf and shopping -- great for the business/vacation traveler who wants the freedom of a condo over a hotel room.

Traveler's tip for business travelers

Close to all major business hotels in Kehie /Waliea area -- much more comfortable than a hotel.

Quiet, comfortable, and nice

This is the 5th time we’ve stayed at the Wailea Grand Champions. By booking through Expedia we saved a lot of money, but this was the first time we’ve stayed there where we didn’t receive maid service during our stay. My expectations were that we were going to get clean towels and garbage bags, soap, etc. like we’ve had in the past. I will be sure and check the next time I book and make sure maid service is included.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

Wailea is the warmest and driest side of the island. If you care about the weather being nice, stay there! Parasailing, the helecopter tour, Hana’s hike through the bamboo forest, Buzz’s Warf’s Sweet Tahitian Prawns, Hula pie at Kimo’s or Jameson’s, and snorkeling/ocean kayaking are definite musts.

As long as you don’t need anything, it’s great.

We loved the condo option over a hotel, but the management company was inept. Very friendly and nice, but they didn’t seem have the ability to deliver on even the smallest of promises. In our case, it was that we only had 3 wash cloths. No big deal, but they repeatedly promised to send over more and never came through. We just had to be self-sufficient. I am glad that our problem was not something more than linen inventory. It was a very nice condo (#90) and our family had a great time. We will stay here again when we come back to Maui.

Total Relaxation

This was our 2nd stay at Grand Champions in the last 4 years - 4th trip to Maui. This was by far our best trip, beautiful condo, amazing view of Molokini from the lanai. Large 1-bedroom condo was enough for our 4 person family, and being able to cook for ourselves, snacks, etc. also helped us avoid having to hear the excuse for poor customer service..."island time".

Traveler's tip on dining

Alexander’s never disappoints, while you can go the other route, eat out every meal, and lose 8-10 hours of waking time waiting for service. The worst ever experience was 1/2 hour wait at Maui Onion just to receive our ice teas once we were seated.

Wonderful place to stay.

Really enjoyed staying here. Very comfortable. Like being at your own home. We stayed in room 54. It has the greatest view and location.
