Was impressed with the hotel overall but was turned off by the mildew smell of the sheets and pillows. The pillows are in need of replacement.

Beautiful Resort Hotel at an Incredible Price

I was so pleased to make such a great deal for my hotel and flight by booking them together. This resort is beautiful. My room was large, with a great bathroom and very comfortable beds. It’s off the strip, but it’s not far to get there, and you have pretty much everything you want right there at the resort. I am returning for another conference in November, and I can’t wait.

Flew into town to see Steel Panther at GVR! Special requested 2 beds over 2 months in advance and got one and a roll away. Other than that the place was awesome.

Felt Special

My sister and I met in Las Vegas to celebrate our 50th birthday’s. While at Green Valley, we felt special, which is exactly what a celebration of your birthday should be.

Vistited to GVR last weekend. Had a wonderful time! The staff was very accomodating and pleasant. Restaurants were great, lots of choices. Room service arrived in a timely manner and with a smile! Beds were so comfortable we didn’t want to get up in the morning. The grounds are lovely and pools are beautiful. Great location also with shopping near by at "The District". Definatly check out this excellent hotel!

Not totally impressed

The hotel is pretty. The service is very much lacking and disappointing.

First Class Resort

My husband and I had a wonderful time. Green Valley Ranch Resort is a wonderful alternative to staying on the Vegas Strip. We will definitely visit again. Travelers, take advantage of the great room rates and enjoy a real treat!

The View Sucks

My only problem was that the hotel was not a full capacity, and they put us in a room over looking the street and garage. It was a horrible view for 4 days. Other than they view, I love the hotel!

Modern and relaxing

Off the strip but very modern and nice. Enjoyed the stay and was convenient to get out and about. Did not like that refridge was not for personal use but only computer-operated mini-bar.

Not impressed

Sagging beds and poor layout of the hotel do not allow for a good nights sleep or ease of movement from one part of the hotel to another.

Nice having The District just next door for other dining options, shopping, and kid friendly activities.

Although the hotel and its grounds were a little overwhelming to us at first, the staff was very friendly and accommodating and made our stay there even more enjoyable.

Quiet Slice of Paradise in Las Vegas

Just minutes away from the Strip, this beautiful resort with fabulous spa, fitness center and pool/recreational area, is a "slice of paradise" ... the casino is adjacent to the resort, rather than in the lobby, which makes this a unique find in this town. Good eats, lots of gambling, comfortable and spacious rooms and luscious grounds. Great retreat or destination venue. Only drawback was the expanse of the grounds - a long walk from lobby to room to gambling, to restaurants, pool and especially the spa/fitness center and the daily resort fee - but his is Vegas, baby (well, almost)!

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Definitely use the fitness center and spa - after all, you are paying a daily resort fee! Check out the almost daily events parties etc. at one of the gorgeous pools and visit the adjacent shopping center - not as good as the strip, but nice for a casual break from sunning, a business meeting or gambling ...

GVR very nice but pool closes early

The GVR is a very nice resort casino. The dining, gaming and rooms are great! The only negitive is that the pool closes very early....I think it closed at 6pm, when we were there over Mother’s Day weekend. They say it would be extended in the summer season. It was in the high 90’s...I sure most guests feel that summer is here and would have enjoyed more time in the pool!

The room wasn’t what I expected

I was first put in a handicapped room. I was led to believe that the rooms would be much bigger and so when I was put in the handicap room I asked to be moved. I was moved to the 5th. floor with a pretty nice view of the city as well as the pool area. The room was not any bigger though. It had a seprate shower as I had asked for one but the shower was so small that the spray beat on you so hard and because it was so small you couldn’t get away from the spray.Also it was discovered that we only had 1 washcloth after we were showering. I don’t think I have ever been to a hotel of this class and only had one washcloth. On the whole it was a nice stay and everyone was quite accommodating.

Green Valley Ranch & Spa

Green Valley is conveniently located "off the strip" in Henderson, NV. The hotel is one of the "Station" family of hotels including Red Rock. The grounds and service are average at best. The hotel and pool have the potential to take a family from daily sun and fun to evening cocktails and relaxation, however, it seems to be a bit lax in the cleanliness and service department. The hotel also has it’s own theater, which offers the latest releases. The rooms are a bit dated and have a "ranch/mission" feel, but the furniture, while elegant, is uncomfortable. The District is an adjacent shopping plaza with stores such as Anthropology, P.F. Chang, & Whole Foods. This sounds very "family friendly" and convenient, but again the service just lacks that "Vegas" style. Even travelers with children expect that certain "extra" that you are accustomed to when you travel to Vegas. For families with children, do not attempt to store snacks or beverages in the hotel room mini-bar. The mini-bar is bar coded and sensor inventoried. If you move an item to make room for your child’s snack, you will be charged for that item regardless of use. Also, it is a good idea to rent a car for day trips or to go into town for a show, as the cab fare is very steep from Green Valley to the strip.

King’s Fish House is a welcome break from "hotel food" at Green Valley Ranch and is located in The District which is in walking distance of the hotel.

Beautiful Place, VERY Convenient location, Everything within walking distance

Employees varied from very responsive, friendly and helpful especially parking staff....to having customer wait long time (concierge dept) while talking to a customer on the phone who called during my question... instead of putting them on hold...occurred a couple of times.

Our group was able to get good rates on rooms. However, there was a boxing match that weekend in Vegas and a fight took place during the middle of the night by people who perhaps got a good rate or would have stayed closer to the match. Security was called and it was handled quickly. Ask for quiet room away from parties!

GVR

The casino had friendly and helpful dealers, all the staff at the hotel were extremely friendly, and the hotel overall is a great place. We ended up not even going to the strip or downtown Vegas we enjoyed GVR so much. A fantastic homebase if you are riding Bootleg Canyon.

Quiet and off the strip

You want Vegas without the crowds and noise? All the amenities of a strip casino in a nice quiet location. The adjacent entertainment center expands well on the hotel restaurants selection with plenty of great places to eat and a movie theater. And my personal favorite - a shower to die for!

Great Place to stay away from the strip

If you are looking for a warm weather get-away, without the craziness of the strip, then this is your place. The rooms are great. The pool is fabulous---order food to your lounge chair or bed, it’s really delicious. Not what you would expect for a poolside cafe. The Casino is pretty basic and smokey--but unless you plan on spending a lot of time, it’s not a big deal. Staff was very helpful and kind. Close by shopping (The District) and restaurants were a great bonus. We are going back next year.

Go across the street to "The district" outdoor shopping area for additional and more affordable restaurants outside of the Casino.

One of the BEST hotels I’ve stayed at

We found this hotel after we needed to get out of the madness of The Strip; we never wanted to leave once we found it! It was perfect; great room (we upgraded to get the balcony room -- it was roomy & very comfy), great service, didn’t have to walk 8 miles for a coffee or anything. I would definitely go back to the Green Valley -- so much more pleasant out there in Henderson.
