"The hotel was everything it advertised to be!! Although there were clouds the first couple days, when they cleared, we had a perfectly unobstructed view of mt Fuji. It was like looking at a postcard, totally unreal. Our host was above and beyond. His knowledge of local to do’s, food, sights, etc, was great and reliable. We stayed in Tokyo, Kyoto, and Kawaguchiko. Although Kyoto was amazing, nothing could top our accommodations in Kawaguchiko. Do yourself a favor and and stay here. Thx again!!!!"

"This was one of the most genuine place we’ve stayed. The full Japanese experience. Also I highly highly recommend adding the dinner part as it was one of the best meals I had from around the world. (North Americans be aware it’s a ryokan style room, so the bed is on the floor, it’s a Japanese bath, etc…) The family here is genuine and friendly, we will forsure come back. This was the best Japanese experience we ever had. Breakfast also is included, Japanese breakfast (search it up ;) )"

"Yoshi hosted us with open arms. He sung us a song on arrival and then found out it was my girlfriend’s birthday and got her some personalised gifts! The location was idyllic; we had a room with a view of Fuji which we saw at sunrise. Yoshi does live music in the evening and he was incredible! He even gave us a lift to the station the next day so we didn’t have to get a bus. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking to stay in the Kawaguchiko area."

"Good condition property, free onsite parking, superb helpful and welcoming staff, very good amenities, very fast internet, average sized room to Japanese standard, The hotel has 2 Breakfast sections, one European and one Japanese, but no toaster or grill for breads, but sumptuous breakfast, enough varieties for Vegans and Vegetarians, but limited enough just to fill up. Value for money hotel. Just that some of the Breakfast Buffet food is only labelled in Japanese, thus need enquiry from staff about content and ingredients."

"We stayed one night at Kasuitei Ooya, and it turned out to be the highlight of our time in Japan. The ryokan gets the traditional experience right without it feeling staged — tatami rooms, yukata, and a real sense of care in everything. Our room had a lake view and a private bath, which our teenagers enjoyed as much as we did. The kaiseki dinner was outstanding: beautifully presented course after course with local ingredients we didn't see anywhere else on the trip, and breakfast the next morning was just as good. The onsen is on the 7th floor, and the same floor has a viewing area where we caught the clearest Mt Fuji view of our stay at sunrise. What tied it all together was the staff. From check-in through to the shuttle back to the station, they were warm, unhurried, and seemed to anticipate what we needed before we asked. If you're deciding whether to build a ryokan night into a Japan trip, this is the place to do it."
