Generally you won’t expect much in Cairo. Safir does provide a decent place for travellers and with good services. Breakfast buffet was decent and comprehensive. While it’s 3 streets away from River Nile, I would say the area is comparably good already - after all you can’t compare it will four seasons ...

Peaceful place to stay in Cairo
Our stays in Mena House was peaceful and fantastic. The room is clean, viewing the Giza Pyramids, cool pool, quality services, etc. The room decoration is not great but so far it is clean and tidy. The balcony is nice facing the Giza Pyramids; the breakfast with various choice of food was great too. ...
