“Beautiful location, food was excellent. In need of an update to furniture and some fixtures.”

Localisation stratégique pour les visite de châteaux alentours (Glamis, Dunnottar, Blair, Braemar) Le soir, à pied, la découverte de la faune forestière est fantastique : chouettes effraies, biches, écureuil, vaches, cochons et chevaux sauvages, et bien sûr : les castors ! Plus la nuit tombe, plus ils apparaissent. Pas farouches, on les voit vaquer à leurs……

“Room was clean, functional and every thing worked as should, bathroom was spotless and plenty hot water and clean towels were pure white clean. There was a communal space to sit and have food, bit disappointed bar down stairs was closed ,but not in full season so not major issue. One recommendation is to swap the wood framed bed for a divan based, Badly injured my knee stepping down into the room hitting knee on bed frame as so close to step, this could have been avoided if was a divan which……

“The bathroom was clean, and the bed sheets were clean, with a lovely smell even in the morning. Heating was on all night, so it wasn't cold in the morning, and after skiing at Glenshee, that warmth was lovely. The fireplace downstairs was so good, and we had a nice chat and watched TV. Great breakfast, and we also had dinner. I got lovely lasagna. The breakfast room looks lovely with a lot of paintings. Books are around, and a lot of small details. “Yes the property is very dog friendly which we love and the staff are extremely attentive and welcoming the bar has plenty to offer drinks wise and the food and menu are literally out of this world.”

“Beautiful, classic room with poster bed in an ancient but well-maintained building, giving a full Scottish feel. The hotel is close to Loch Kinord natural reserve, which provides picturesque and serene walks.”

“Easy to find. Private parking down the driveway. Extremely well presented inside from a decoration and artwork perspective. The bedroom I had was very well put together from an esthetics perspective. Also, a nice, and well maintained garden to wander around. There is an honesty bar with a good choice of whiskeys and other drinks, plus another larger lounge to relax in. Breakfast was very tasty with a good selection of options. The owners will recommend local places to eat, and during breakfast……

“The Northern is a lovely hotel, rooms clean, plenty of storage, toiletries, kettle & TV. We had dinner one night of our 2 night stay, food was delicious. We had breakfast one morning, I had full vegetarian breakfast, my friend full Scottish, both delicious & filling!”
