"Small parking lot but can park across street - go over the curb into grass area. Staff very helpful and called to check that we were still showing up. TV not working. Little refrig not working. No microwave and other refrigerators not working. Staff kept my little plate of pizza in his refrig. Room clean but need 2 pillows per person. and more than just one towel per person. Quick overnighter."

"First off the food at the restaurant was delicious. But otherwise it was a very dated room. The beach was horrible. Maybe it was because it was winter, but you couldn’t walk on the sand without things poking through it into your feet as well as in the beach. It was fenced off from the beach because it was a public beach so the chairs I expected was expecting to be set up nicely with an umbrella were located inside the fence area and they were a couple on the beach with no umbrellas. I was supposed to stay there for five nights. I canceled after the first night. Also, I expected it to be much closer to San Juan and it was almost an hour away."

"Rooms were very clean and sufficient. The view from my room was amazing, right on the beach. The area surrounding the hotel was a little unsettling. The food at the restaurant was delicious and the staff at the restaurant were very nice. There was some confusion with the front desk not being open in the morning to check out and available staff on property seemed limited and scarce. I wasn’t comfortable just leaving the room key in the mailbox and not receiving a receipt for our one night stay."

"The place/setting is incredible. The hotel is surrounded by mountains. The pictures will never reflect the real beauty of the setting. The hotel itself has a positive ambiance of relaxation and peace. The pool area is also beautiful (I would only recommend adding heating to the water). The staff is very kind and welcoming. If you add breakfast to your reservation, the staff can bring you the breakfast outside you cabin. If you choose to have diner in the evening is also very peaceful and you will be receive good attention. The bathroom needs some updates, but I definitely recommend the place. The hotel includes a Ceiba (tree) trail that reflects the beauty of the mountains and nature. You can visit the river within a walking distance."

"We had a wonderful stay at Serena Boutique Hotel in Aguas Buenas and would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic Puerto Rican experience. From the moment we arrived, Ricardo made us feel incredibly welcome. He was always around the property, working hard to keep everything running smoothly and making sure guests were comfortable. His wife, Gloria, was also wonderful—she prepared fresh breakfast every morning, and it was always delicious. One of the things we loved most about this place is how tucked away it is. It’s far from the busy city areas, which makes the experience feel unique and authentic. Even the drive there feels like you’re stepping into a different side of Puerto Rico. The property itself is beautiful, and you can really see how much care Ricardo puts into maintaining it. If I could give one tip to future guests, it would be to rent a car if possible. If you stay out late in San Juan or other areas, it can be very difficult to get a Lyft or Uber to drive up to the property, as many drivers decline the trip. Ricardo is very kind and willing to help, but since it’s a small family running the hotel, we didn’t want to bother him late at night. The only small thing we noticed was that some of the tiles could be a little slippery, especially since it rained quite a bit during our stay. Other than that, everything was fantastic. Overall, this was one of the best experiences we’ve had staying anywhere. If you’re looking for a peaceful, authentic"
