Downtown Spokane offers a mix of cosmopolitan city vibe and natural beauty. The lively city center has a large urban waterfall, Spokane Falls, the picturesque Spokane River and verdant Riverfront Park. Visit Downtown Spokane to enjoy the popular arts and culture scene, great dining, museums and craft breweries.

Start your Downtown Spokane tour at The Historic Davenport Hotel, built in the early 1900s. After near demolition, the hotel was rescued by a local couple who refreshed it to today’s hospitality standards. In the hotel’s Peacock Room Lounge, see its 5,000-piece stained-glass ceiling and plan to attend the famed Sunday brunch.

Enjoy the arts and culture scene at a performance by the celebrated Spokane Symphony, which holds its concerts at the historic, art deco Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox.

For live music most weeknights, check out the Bing Crosby Theater and the Knitting Factory.

Seek great art at the Corbin Art Center, the New Moon Art Gallery and the Chase Gallery in city hall, all representative of Spokane’s emerging creative side.

Shop in the walkable downtown core, browsing among national brands at River Park Square and locally owned boutiques. Buy snacks at the seasonal Spokane Farmers Market. Continue shopping, from Washington State’s own Nordstrom to Auntie’s Bookstore, the area’s largest independent bookseller.

After exploring Spokane’s history and urban nature, savor delicious meals at top restaurants in the downtown district. The focus is on farm-to-table fare from surrounding Spokane County and regional beer and wine from more than 35 breweries and 20 wineries and tasting rooms. For a meal with a fun ambiance, dine at Frank’s Diner, the state’s oldest dining car restaurant, where your award-winning breakfast is served in a restored railroad car.

Find Downtown Spokane south of the Spokane River, in a portion of the Riverside neighborhood. The district is bordered by I-90, Division Street, Maple Street and the river. There are parking meters on most downtown streets park for free on Sundays.
